A crafting profession that will soon gain the ability to become a combatant......and only they will get this option. So your telling me that a crafting profession will soon become self reliant, well i just flat out dont agree.

This is ludicrous......Weaponsmith cant use his T21 without novice rifleman, but DE is supposed to just whip out a new hardcore probot and start blasting away?

How about a BE.......how dare you neglect the BE, we spend plenty more skill points than the DE yet we get shafted? dont tell me tissues make up for it....HA! Weve got an entire tree that either gives skill mods that dont work or require resources that are ludicrously hard to find. Now stack that on top of the fact that many of our pets cant be tamed, the only ones with possible profitable value anyway (ala kimo). We get shafted on resources because our grind takes 150k meat per skill tree and meat is plenty hard to come buy compared to inorganics that you just farm overnight with a harvester. Now stack all of that against the fact that you get to whip out and use your combat crafts right off the ship, while cant even tame many of the things we craft.

This is going to ruin balance and i am going to rant till i pass out. I will not take this sitting down.

Good luck with that.

you may 1 star it, but ill still be screaming nerf louder than a rebel with 2 graul maulers looking at an imp in theed with 1 ATST.

Ive waited long enough for fixes for my profession only to see some rushed plan deface all that represents the crafting community. Its ludicrous to think that a combat support/crafting and combat class could ever become one and leave the game balanced. DE's will now be creating their own supply of weapons......this happens nowhere else in the game and is just one of the most amazingly idiotic ideas i have seen since release.

Uhhh...you're saying that Weaponsmith can't shoot the gun he makes?

You sure about that?!?

I agree with you that no-one should be completely self-reliant. However, if you think this plan, if implemented as it stands now, will make us self-reliant, you are high or something. By the way...the word you were looking for there is "you're", not your.

This is ludicrous......Weaponsmith cant use his T21 without novice rifleman, but DE is supposed to just whip out a new hardcore probot and start blasting away?

There's a good point hiding in there somewhere just waiting to jump out...but until it does, this gets us nowhere. A droid isn't the same thing as a rifle, just like a creature isn't the same thing as a chemistry experiment.

How about a BE.......how dare you neglect the BE

The devs getting info to their correspondant who then posts in the DE board isn't neglecting BEs. Read your own board.

we spend plenty more skill points than the DE yet we get shafted?

DEs have also been shafted, and I highly doubt that BE takes more skill points. Most DEs master artisan because of our extremely high dependence on Master Artisan components.

dont tell me tissues make up for it....HA!

Ok...I won't. (??) Nobody was talking about BEs before you came anyway.

Weve got an entire tree that either gives skill mods that dont work or require resources that are ludicrously hard to find.

Heh. We've got 3 trees like that, and some of our required resources haven't ever existed yet (anyone got a waypoing for lidium ext ore? hehe) Get a grip.

Now stack that on top of the fact that many of our pets cant be tamed, the only ones with possible profitable value anyway (ala kimo).

What does that have anything to do with the problems in DE?

We get shafted on resources because our grind takes 150k meat per skill tree and meat is plenty hard to come buy compared to inorganics that you just farm overnight with a harvester.

Stop whining, or at least do it in the BE board. Every profession has their difficulties.

Now stack all of that against the fact that you get to whip out and use your combat crafts right off the ship, while cant even tame many of the things we craft.

No one is "whipping out" anything, and won't be for a long time, and beside that, we don't even know what was meant by the DE-only statements. I'm sorry you have problems in your profession, but how does coming here and griefing help anyone?

This is going to ruin balance and i am going to rant till i pass out. I will not take this sitting down.

What is the matter with you? What is your idea of balance, that everyone would have problems, that the online experience for all would be equally sucky? Is spending time to fix things in the game creating a disturbance in the force that must be remedied by *gasp* the NERF!? Is very idea that someone else might get some much needed fixes really so bad? I hope you pass out soon.

Grow up, or at the very least, go troll in your own board. You certainly aren't winning any friends here. If you want a pissing contest over whose having the worst time playing, start a griefer board. Start a griefer profession for all I care. I'm having a good time playing despite all the problems.

I do have to agree that droid engineers should not become a combat class in any way shape or form. I am a master droid engineer, I became a master droid engineer because I enjoy building droids (and I even enjoy trying to figure out all the bugs and oddities that come with them, as well as find ways around them). I gave up all of my combat skills because I just dont' care about combat. While I do have a probot, the primary purpose of it is to hold something off while I run my ass away. I don't care if it will win or lose the fight, as long as I get away safe. If there is going to be some kind of cert system for the combat modules good, leave DE's out of it. If there isn't, everyone can use the droids, that works too.

For those of you wondering why I'm actually against this, I'll give you two reasons. First and most obvious, sales, I'd like to be able to sell some of the new stuff I can make. Second, and less obvious, the change it would have in the DE community. As it is we are a fairly small group and mostly dedicated crafters and good people (most of those that haven't been have dropped the profession). If DE all of a sudden gets access to combat droids/modules that others don't, that will bring many new people to the profession that could care less about it, they just want the extra combat capability. why is this bad? because while I don't mind in the least explaining how droids work and answering questions about them to customers, I am horrified and disgusted when I get the same questions from a DE making something other than mouse droids.

There's my rant for the day, have at it.

Your concerns are legitimate, but why does that mean that none of us should be able to make combat droids? They aren't going to allow more than one combat droid out anyway, so it's not going to be like CH --- not people aren't going to put up with hours and hours of grinding and harvesting and all that just so they can pull out one droideka, especially when they figure out that they pretty much have to master artisan too.

ah, must not have been very clear. I have no problems with us making combat droids, I think that would be a great addition. I just had a problem with the wording about only DE's could create and use the modules. This could mean a couple of things, but one of the more obvious ones could be that only DE's would be able to use droids with these new combat modules.

ok if you want to pull out the "we have to have master artisan" statement then my clear rebuttle is that BE needs novice ranger which is even worse than master artisan.

Albeit you may need resources that have never existed, you can get by and grind to master without those resources as they are not a necessity to gain XP. There is no way to avoid the fact that we need meat, and way more than should be necessary.

Go talk on my forum to my correspondant? oh yeah, when someone finds him in the amazon, sure, ill go over there and talk to him, but until we actually get a corr. i will stand firmly against any crafting class becoming some hybrid of craft/combat. You are entirely self reliant in the combat sense.

And since when has a WS been able to craft a T21 and use it without novice Rifleman? it doesnt happen, nor should DE be an exeption.

DE and BE are on the exact same boat. You can all craft droids that everyone can use, (ala our <CL15 pets and your probots, yea, they do compare, check out our clone engy line, best we can make is a kahmurra which doesnt have the armor of the probot). So if i feel something isnt fair about your plan then it is my right to complain about it. I feel complaints are warranted because not only is BE harder to obtain, the devs are all slapping us in the face, you may cry about your lack of attention, BE has recieved even less, not to mention all of the nerfs. While you may have had your probots smacked down, we have had nerf after nerf after bug. If DE gets to whip out a combat droid, i want to whip out a fully trained Bol.

I'm certain the original poster could be more wrong, but he'd have to try really, really, hard.

Honestly, if you really believe that the Probot gives usan advantage, you should either quit drinking or quit doing drugs, cause honestly you're doing one of them too much.

And btw, DE needs to Master 2 trees to be at all effective. Better count that in if you want to compare costs. As well as the fact that DE is officially FAR more broken the BE now. Also, considering that up until not that long ago, you could pull 30 meat off a baby nuna, I *really* don't think you have any basis upon which to complain about resources. Try crit failing a loadedProtocol or a BLL sometime, Talking thousands of resources lost in a moment. Architects are the only other proffessions that can say that.

And as a side note, how many of your products require an apology with each sale? All of ours do.

Ignore the handle, I am Gatt on Vnboards.

you really have to master 2professions and have organic chem 4 to be effective as a BE.

And as far as crit failing, HA!......try scouring naboo for hours to find a 5peko peko albatross for a worthwhile sample and then to crit fail on a gurreck, countless hours, gone, never to return.

More bugs? are you kidding me? Tissue Eng....what exactly does work in this tree besides pet stims? our pet stims are the equivelant of your droids with med modules, yea they sell, but they aint no hotcakes.

You cant pull 30 meat off a baby nuna, you havent been able to since the first month. Do you honestly believe the kahmurra, soon to be nerfed (so really do you honestly believe the carrion spat with 810 HAM), gives us an advantage?

How many of our products require an apology? How about:

- Blurrg

- Tybis

- Bol

- Bolle Bol

- Snorbal

- Fambaa

- All of our tissues as there has been NO proof that these skill mods actually work (not to mention the inability to craft the ones that even matter)

BE has a rebuttle for any DE issue, and then some, did i say some? I meant and then 5 pages more

I'm a master DE, I also utterly hate combat in this game. I will continue to make droids, and will only keep combat droids myself for my protection. They'll really help me survive those packs of red con agro that like to hang out next to harvesters. Yeah a decent number of DE are gonna go combat, but let's face it, a master DE/master Artisan barely has enough skillpoints to purchase the basic combat profession, and ya can't fight battles that way and survive for very long, imho.

and how is this different from other crafting professions?

Weaponsmiths need master artisan for certain weapon components, Armorsmith needs it if he wishes to sell real bone armor. BE needs novice ranger to even consider surviving while DNA sampling, plus you really need tracking and wayfar 4 if you wish to effectivley get resources.

So you think just because you make combat droids that you should instantly be granted the ability to use them because you lack skillpoints to get any sort of combat into your character? Please.....

What is a BE supposed to do? throw bone spur traps at a CL50 arachne webmaster that aggrod even though he is a Master? Atleast you have enough free skill points to master artisan or pick up a novice elite combat profession....skill points for DE is no excuse.
