I think that these droids once released should be 100k minimum no matter the resources used.. At first even greater amounts.. Trust me people will buy them and they will be worth every penny.. I need you all to follow this and not undercut.. If it takes more resources then expected charge more.. Armorsmiths make 20cpu + for comp armor keep that in mind..

I am going to see what kind of resources they use and even if they are in demand. We have no clue what type/level of droids we're getting. I'll probably go by my standard pricing scheme (I price droids per unit, basically) but if I can't keep em in stock, the price will go up a little.

And as for Armorsmiths making 20cpu for composite, some of them pay 50cpu for HQ wooly hides, so it balances out.....

Thats cool play the way you want to play but how do you know that to make a good droid you are not going to have to pay a tonne for quality resources as well? Why not give them away at 20k.. Way to be a sport.. You guys who charge pennies for your crafting time make me laugh.. Then you complain I aint got cash.. well guess what........ uhhhh??? Supply and demand.. you know that theory if you dont think there is going to be a massive rush for these things then you are nieve..

100k is fair for a combat class droid..

I dont understand how you can price something that doesnt even exist yet.

How can you put a price on something that's basically just a pipe dream at the moment? We have no clue how good these droids will be or how many resources they will take. Believe me, I will take into account if they need high quality resources, but saying flat out that you're going to charge 100k for something, that as far as you know might only need 100 steel to craft is jumping the gun a little.

I don't think we can proce droids without knowing thier base cost, resources and components. And I am against price CH-style gouging (except target at CHs -- lol!). But also underselling is a big problem for DEs, especially with the advent of Holo DEs and I do think some baseline prices are in order. We need more information on that, though. We should have this discussion when the droids are on the TC.

I know its been said here, but it should be said again, you can't price droids before theyre out. Furthermore, I don't really care what the rest of you do but the droid will go into the same price equation the rest of my droids go into (every droid has its use, there's no reason to charge more cpu for one droid over another). While I do agree that the kind of undercutting that is affecting some of the other crafting professions (such as architects, who get around 2.5 cpu max) must be avoided at all costs, the kind of price gouging that we're seeing with CH's and mounts (as well as some DE's) is just as bad. And as for the 20cpu thing, if these droids take the same amount of resources as a BLL (which the first couple out will most likely be less) 100k would be about 33cpu. I would consider 33cpu price gouging.

I have my own pricing structure that has netted me several million credits, so I'll be using that structure to price ANY new droids that are introduced. I refuse to participate in any attempts to set an artifical floor on pricing... doing so is bad for the economy.

BTW, my lower prices haven't hurt my competition.There are other Droid Engineers on Ahazi who haveprices which are, in general, much higher than mine yet those other Droid Engineers still do several times more volume. Why? Because theyhave much better locations. If you aren't making a profit, don't blame it on undercutting. You're probably just not in a good location and you need to move.

I'm with those who will price by formula, as always.

That being said, the first few droids I produce will be in my inventory as I head into Coronet, and if someone is foolish enough to offer me a ludicrously large amount of money for one, I will be wise enough to accept it.

If someone offers me a rediculous some I will (as I have always done) let them know what I normally sell it for, if they still want to pay me more, thats there perogative. I will not have someone walk away that payed too much for a droid without knowing it.

Already have a price list for them... Roughly 4 times the amount of resources that goes into one. Why price gouge?
