there has been zero communication from the DEVS for over a month, if not longer. our profession has gotten ZERO help whatsoever. i loved being a DE, no doubt making droids was fun.

i surrendered the entire profession tonite, and i have no regrets. its sad when all the time i put in was for nothing. good luck de's, i cant say it was enjoyable, but to each his own. i may come back if they ever decide to add better droids, but for now...its just not worth having all those skill points tied up in a profession thats going nowhere.

Zina, I'm sorry to hear that you've given up on DE. It does however appear to me that you've found your true calling...Master Weaponsmith. In any case, I will always remember you as the first master DE on Naritus and truely hope that my primary profession can go no lower.

To echo Kurai's statement, you were also the first DE I met on Naritus and after I bought two of your droids (a probot and protocol droid). Those two droids had a profound influence on me and soonI knew I wanted to become a DE too. I doubt I would have become one if not for you.

That said, I am sorry to see you go from our ranks. There are too few of use DEs left I feel and I hope AmbassadorFrito reconsiders. I know we have had droid discussions in game about the state of things. And the state of things is grim. "I've got a bad feeling about this."

Good Luck Zina with weapon crafting tho. I am glad you will still at least be in the game.

heard about the upcoming/promised changes/fixes to DE and have faith they will get in. However Ive stopped grinding and stopped getting DE skills for now. Close to giving it up, but we have such great potential. Im worried that as soon as I give up my skills, DE will be finally fixed.

I can wait out a little while longer, but I'm quickly losing intrest.

Sorry to see another DE resign the title, and good luck to you in whatever you do.

Last night I had some questions from two different people about droids. I spent about 8 minutes each answering questions and providing suggestions and info about what they'd like in a droid. At the end of the conversation with one person, he was pleased with my candor (frank answers aboutour limited droid abilities), he thanked me for my time, and told me "good luck with the broken class, hope you guys get some help soon."

I certainly hope so too, before we lose more good people to a broken class, or even a broken game.

That sucks. I just lost my favorite droid supplier on Eclipse too. Closing his shop until further notice .. ie. if they fix droids.

I'm a scout/ranger, but I love droids. I'm addicted to them! I have 5 droids already, one of which is a probot, and it's the 6th probot I've owned over the last month or so. I keep upgrading.

Even so, I know I only do it for the novelty of droids, for the star wars i ness of droids.

I'll keep supporting my DEs (soon as i find a new dealer) but the fact is, until the devs FIX droids, there won't be many people like me.

It's really getting ridiculous now. FIX DROIDS!

I'm just about done also. The thing that's really killing it for me is that there's no real variety in what I can produce and quality really makes no different beyond crafting stations (even that's debatable). It's pretty sad when the most bang for my experimentation buff is adding 4 extra HAM onto a probot. While weapon smiths and armor crafters are allowed to bang out some really amazing stuff, we can make the same product using low quality crap instead of 990+ OQ materials. It's sad, I wanted to be known as a quality droid maker, but once you hit master, you can just make the same crap as other master DEs.

It's gotten to the point where I've really stopped keeping good stock in my store and I rarely restock when people buy. I actually hope and pray that when I log in that no one has bought droids. Irarely talk with my customers anymore and I've lost patience with the stupid ones. Anytime someone asks me braindead, non specific question like "how much does a droid cost?" or "what kind of droids can you make?", I just put them on ignore and merrily go on with life. I don't have the patience or love for this class anymore to talk to someone for 30 minutes who will likely not buy a droid and just end up saying stuff like "**edit**,ur class really sux doesn't it".

Once you've made an R2 with a lvl 6 medmodand a food/chem station oran advanced probot, you've really hit the pinnacle of being a DE, which is SAD. Even our pathetic 5 experimentation points we all just make the same droids day after day. We trade one grind for another. Is it too much to ask for droid experimentation to actually mean something outside of handful of HAM points?

I'm sick of waiting. I'm either going to cancel or reroll into something like commando, smuggler or bounty hunter, I'm done with crafting grinds. I've even offered to bank roll anyone in my PA that wants to be a droid engineer. So far, no one's biting. I don't blame them.

Although it's sad to see someone leave the profession I'm not minding one bit being one of the few DE's that's sticking it out.

The Devs have stated that Combat droids are on the way... of coursethey are releasing no details at this time. Maybe they have no idea what to do, or they may be wanting to surprise us? I'm betting on the latter. All those who do stay in will be in for a treat one day having Droidekas and who knows what else at our fingertips, while those who backed out are stuck on that long grind to get to where they used to be. The DE grind was and still istorture... In no way am I coming back to it once I'm a Master DE. If I'm ever to drop the profession in no way am I coming back to it... no matter how cool the new droids will be. That's the main reason why I'm sticking it out.

Anyone really wonder why the DE profession has been looked over while the CH and BE have seemed to get ALL this attention as of late? The answer is so simple it's close to funny! Sometime within the next month to 45 days creature mounts will be implemented into the test server. Which meansby as early as thanksgiving we'll all have creature mountsavailable on our servers.Maybe even sooner if they can get some minor animation issues fixed. The general pet system, CH and BE need to be in top working order for the creature mounts to work as intended upon release of the big patch that allows them.

The DE will get their day in the sun! And it will be sometime between creature mounts and the space expansion. Just think about it... all those Rebels trading in fp for x-wings/y-wings will still need an R2-R3 unit before they can fly off in it! The Devs may also have autopilot systems and such in these starships that will give the DE another real use. The De profession will have to be working as intended in most areas for the space expansion to work like I feel the Devs want it to work.

When I first started out, I used to get a sick feeling in my stomach when I saw people with probots and protocols long before I could be able to make them. Yes I wanted to make them that bad! Leave if you will, but this time you will be having the sick feeling when I'm making the droids you could have been making.... not the other way around cause you got master before me! All in all the final choice is yours!

aerofool,

I felt the same way you did about a month ago, but my morale has gone downhill since then, as there has to be some kind of variety or new content for droids to keep me going until they put in big changes. The space expansion will probably come no sooner than 6 months. Essentially with it they are implementing an entirely new game (space combat? doesn't exist currently, etc. etc.) I don't think I'm willing to wait another 4 months for something good to come down the pipes. I'll let me subscription run out and go play some soccer and volleyball instead.

But I wish you well and hope you can keep a good attitude

I have redeeded all of my harvesters and factories. I have enough resources to keep my PA supplied for a long time.

I am spending my time just wandering around shooting things.

Not really what I wanted to do, but what choice do I really have?

My 3 closest friends left the game, the dancers in the Theed Cantina I used to flirt with are gone.

When people say "Hey look a Master Droid Engineer, you guys are rare..." I cringe... mainly because the next question is "Can you make me a strong Probot?"

When I give them their answer... they respond "But you are a Master Droid Engineer... you cannot make it better? That sucks..."

Since I die to nightspiders, I cannot solo and nobody wants me in a group.

I spent 30 minutes sitting near the waterfalls wondering what the hell I wanted to do.

I have roleplayed, I have built and sold and some instances given droids away. I have killed and died and died and died... you get the point.

What is left for me? Seriously? I did not sit back and do the power grind to master either. Somedays I would log in and hang with my friends... so don't give me any power leveling bs.. I spent a ton of time doing other things.

I have a house, I have been to Endor and I have run missions. I went Overt for a couple of weeks, just not my thing..but I tried it out.

I find myself just wandering open fields of Naboo, for mile upon mile... with nothing to see but the occasional POS... --- (Intentional), guarded by some gungans or something. That did not do anything, but give me a mission I could have grabbed from a terminal.

Seriously, if anyone has any suggestions... some things I can try... please let me know.

Game looks great... I think it has the potential of being something really cool, right now... it is not for me. I would cancel my subscription, but since characters will be deleted after what 3 days? I dont really want to waste my hard work...in case things turn around 6-7 months down the road.
