Thread: Bounty Hunter Droid prices
I am not asking for prices, I just want to bring something to your attention. When the game came out BH's bough droids from npc vendors. It wasn't fair you the DE's, I agree. The npc droid terminals got removed and prices sky rocketed. That was to be expected.
One of the biggest complaints a bounty hunter has is we lose money on missions. Once you use droids and buy round trip tickets to Endor and such, you LOSE money on a bh mission.
In response to that issue the dev's made seekers to be used multiple times. What do you think happened next? The price was raised by 10k by De's.
Some DE's also won't make them. We BH's need these droids to advance. We hate to run out during a mission, but have gotten used to begging a DE to make one for a fair price
This is your forum. I didn't come to bash and complain, however the plead to have the npc terminals back is being discussed by bounty hunters.
I ask that you are reasonable. I don't think the npc terminal is fair to you, yet if enough people yell it will happen. Don't charge 10 times the cost of the old droid when the 10 uses was put in to aid bounty hunters.
Flame away I guess.
There's an entire thread below about prices. I've seen anywhere from 250 to 3000, for the 10-charge seekers.
I sell for 1500/3000, which is far below what the BH originally bought for, I make a little profit, and I can easily keep my vendors stocked. I also don't sell out of the bazaar so that the novice DE can advertise there.
When they were single charge I was charging 800 a piece, that's about um, 4C per unit of resources used.
Now I charge 1200, up to about 6C per unit, but the price drops to 120C per charge as opposed to 800 per charge before.
Yes, but you forget, with 10 charges, they need to buy only 1 droid to complete their mission or less depending on their skill lvl, and one Arakyd for up to 5 missions. So this changereduces the return business by a factor of 5 at the minimum up to a possible 10 times less business. From what I've heard it takes on avg. 3-8 Seekers to complete a mission, so 1 seeker could be used to complete 3 BH missions with good fortune.
Arakyd Probe Droid - 10 use model requires
78 + 20 + 75 = 173 units of resources ( look it up on swgcraft.com )
if you buy resources off the bazaar, your paying 3 credits per resource on average.
if you mine your own, your seeing anywhere from .5 to 1.25 credits per unit of resource.
To pull any type of profit and or cover your own mining expenses I recommend 2 credits per unit minimum, but this is only if you mine your own resources. I would set the price at 3credits per resource used to allow the non miner Droid Engineers the ability to be competitive here but not to inflate the price because of the number of uses.
3x173= 520 credits per Probe Droid, sell them in a factory crate 5 at a time, sell the crate for 2500 credits.
Now the BH has 5x10 or 50 uses of Probe droids for 2500 credits or roughly 50 credits per use, not bad for either side considering and everyone is happy.
People selling for around 200 - 300 credits are losing money or just breaking even and not knowing it because they haven't made these in a while, people selling them for 2000 credits PER droid are gouging but it will catch up to them when BH's stop buying from them.

This is what I sell them for, and how I price everything out -
Look me up, I"m on Bloodfin, just outside theed and would be happy to help you out.

Price is typicaly determined by Supply and Demand. Not by some strange calculation of price of raw materials or time. If thatwas the way to price things McDonalds Fries would cost a nickel not a dollar.
Certainly demand is directly controlled by percieved value.If BH's are losing moneyon a mission they will notbuy them. I have no idea what the BH makes on a mission or what his costs are. I have no idea wether my prices are are good or not but i seem to be able to sell as many as I make. I have heard of some BH's making on the average 8k per mission. Ifsupply is increased by a factor of 10 (by some none economist developer) and demand stays the same the price should go down.
I used to charge 1k per Arkyd probe droid with 1 charge. ( or 1k for 1 use ) I now charge 2k per Arkyd Probe Droid with 10 charges. (or 200 cr for 1 use ) So for at least this Droid Engineer the price is now a quarter of the cost that it was. I think that is a Win for the BH and a Win for the DE.

If your on Intrepid I give me atell in game. I will make them for ya!
Seekers i sell for 1.5k per or 7k a crate
Probes 2.5k per or 12k a crate
Both average out to way below what the vendors used to charge ya, its a fair price considering it takes 5 factory runs to create just 99 probes and 4 runs for 99 seekers
Also have to factor in the cost to get the energy to put in said factory, maint on that energy harveser, maint on the factory, and the cost of said resources that i make them out of.. Also a small profit margin so i can afford to advance in my proffession and pay for my house.
Seekers=1.5k
Probes=3k
I think those are pretty reasonable prices considering they have charges now.
