Thread: Probot / L10 Pet vs a red dragonet Makes me feel good to be a DE
I was running around maintaining extractors and found a group of 3 dragonets camped out near them. They were spread apart a bit so I was sure I could get just one of them. I made a camp real quick to pull out my probot (having to do that sucks) and attacked one. It charged immediately and I sent the probot, then I backed off and attacked with a laser rile (not a lot of damage dealt by these by any means). It was sloooow going, I was barely moving his health, and I kept waiting for the bot to drop. What seemed like a full 2 minutes later the bot was still up and I managed to solo the dragonet (maybe not a great feat but I suck at combat, it was the most rifle xp i've ever seen) - the bot never died.
Later I tried the same thing with my pet (a L10 bol). I swear he dropped in like 5 seconds...the dragonet was still almost at full health and I was trampeled and killed...
Anyway, I couldn't believe the difference between the two fights. Same player, same weapon, same npc, only difference was the pets. I say probots don't suck as much as many people think. Even if only we DEs know it....their loss.
Cheers!
oh...of course that's an adv version with 2 level 4 armor modules....
I'm getting similar results, but even better :
The deal I have with a couple of the gunslingers I rent lots from is that a portion of the stuff mined goes to gratis merchandise for them.
Two of them now have simple 810HAM Basic Probots I ground out, Armor3, nothing special.
I've been getting emails of "Oh, wow, this really helps!"
And I saw one of them in town the other day talking to another about how nice it was to have a probot....
Made a sale or two because of that.
Gotta love it.
I've given them to most of my guildmates and never had a complaint.
For the first time I now stock several of them on my vendor (was custom order only), the first one sold off the vendor only a couple hours after loading.
one big problem still with them: batteries- they don't last long enough, and there is no way to tell how much juice is left, say a METER. other than that their combat ability is pretty **edit** good compared to pets (unless you're a CH).
long live DEs
If that is the case wouldnt CH and DE be a good combination?
Or would CH with a probot be good because you could have good combat skills too, hmmmmmm, this gives me some food for thought
I've beentaking outGualama, with a0/0/4/0 Brawler, with the help of my Advanced Probot. Iuse the Probot to pullthe beastieaway for me and then let it getchewed on fora sec before I step in andslice and dice.
Last night, one of my trustyProbots pulled aggrofor4 Bols on Dantooine. It may have only lasted about 1 minute, but it lasted more than twice as long as I did in the same spot.
Compared to a CL10 pet, a Probot is the only way to tank. Just imaginewhat it will be like whenA Droid RepairKit is around to heal the HAM bars ![]()
Too bad BE pets pwn now, i really feel for DE's cuz im a BH and i need them, and all my old DE's quit and im runnign low on arakyds.
yay for level 10 kaadu with 4k ham and 60% kinetic.....
Here is mine: Probot / L10 vs a Droideka (Droid Engineer Cave on Lok) - makes me feel retarded to be a DE.
Seriously. I should have taken screenshots. As I looked on in horror and dismay as the real droids backhanded my Probot with contempt, all I could think was Screenshot of the Day. But my buffs didn't last long enough.
Level 10 pet = house pet.
Probot = better than house pet.
Me = have probot for snack.
Droideka in DE cave = have Sinjen with doctor buffs for a snack.
I would be okay with this food chain if our other droids did something cool. Okay, I am the grumpy old DE who has been DE since beta, and very cynical. Sorry for spewing hate in your joy thread. I need a vacation.
