I read through the patch notes stickied at the top, but its still a little foggy to me. Am I correct in thinking that the only of our new items that are actually droid modules are the starship crafting modules? The rest are just standalone items?

Yup. Just the one module. But the oher stuff is a big boon to us as well. I've had 7 factories running full tilt pumping all this stuff out for two days now.

Yah, I figured. I'll have to get my factories started on some too.

One other thing though. If a Flight Computer and an Astromech Droid serve the exact same purpose, but with the astromech being limited to certain ships, what advantage does the astromech have that will keep people from just using a Flight Computer since its less hassle if you say switch ships?

There is no advantage in one piece of equipment over the other. The difference lies entirely in which ship the individual plans on flying. Since rebels who will be flying the Z-95, X-wing, or either of the two Y-wings can only use the astromechs, they must buy them, vice the flight computers. Privateers and imperials can not use the astromechs since there are no ships available to them that utilize the astromechs.

Ah, so certain ships are absolutely required to use astromechs then?

Be careful, because each astromech droid types also requires a certain level of skill for the Player Character to be able to use it. Advanced R4's for example, require Astromech skill level 6. Don't go making a run of R2 units and expect them to sell right away since their won't be many people able to use them...

That being said, we need to have the skill level to use listed at the beginning schematic screen. This will allow the DE's to know what can be used when so that we can plan accordingly. Right now, the skill level only shows up in final combine and by examining the deed itself.

Ummm.....Gray, you might want to take a look at the information in the DE 101 guide, since your information is incorrect.

TheAstromech Chassis being used is not want is important. The Astromech Level is completely dependent on the Level of the Data Storage Module.

Ok, I'm thinking about stocking some of this stuff on my vendor in advance, so a few more questions.

Astromech Droids are based both on a base level of the droid itself as well as the data module level then? So it would probably be easier to just make standard R5's with varying data module numbers, since they are the lowest available astromech droid? Or am I missing something?

Are the unprogramed module things that you use to transfer commands to your astromech or flight computer reusable, or will you need another one each time you want to switch commands and such? And do you only need 1 to stick into a flight computer or astromech with as many commands as possible, or do you need 1 per command?

Is there any reason to have multiple flight computers or astromechs other than having ones of different levels? For example, would it do me any good to have 2 level 6 flight computers at master?

If I'ma master pilot, will I be able to use all commands with a level 6 flight computer, or will I still need subsequent computers to use lower commands?

What I'm trying to decide is first whether I should sell the unprogramed modules seperate or in crates, and whether selling aFlight Pack (pack with a level 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 flight computers and depending on usage some unprogramed modules) would be an effective way of selling them.

Yes, the Astromech Level is based Competelyon the Data module level.

1 Unprogrammed Droid Command Module per program. The Droid Command Modules are 1 time use only.

You can only use 1 Flight Computer of Droid in your Ship at a time. I'm not surewhatthe hard cap of Flight Computers is in your Datapad. Since everyone can share Droid Command Programs, by trading Programmed Droid Command Modules, it is beneficial to have more then one Flight Computer at a time depending on what programs you have installed. Higher end programs require more storage space, so if you want to store the Droid Programs from each profession, you will won't be able to store the highest levels.

If I'ma master pilot, will I be able to use all commands with a level 6 flight computer, or will I still need subsequent computers to use lower commands?

You will be able to use all of your Tier 4 Command Programs, but you won't be able tostore every single Tier 4 program in it. Take a look at the JtL guides to see the Program Sizes and the Storage Sizes. At most, you can store5 Tier 4 programs,5 Stablization/Normalization Programs, 1 Mute Program, and have 19 Capacity left over.

I would offer the UDCMs in crates of 5, 10, 15, 20, and/or 25. Crates of 5 and 10 won't really be needed until xxx1 Pilot, unless the person is able to get Programmed DCM from someone else. Crates of 15, 20, and 25 are geared towards those that will sell the programs that they can use. Imperials and Rebels will more then likely have a fairly decent market selling their programs. The Privateer program is only going to be useful to the people who really understand how to use.

Interesting thing...i installed a level 1 data module in a basic R5, and the droid deed says it is level 2 certification....what is up with that??

No, actually you're not required to have one at all. They're optional components you can use on your ships. Without them, however, you couldn't utilize the ship command skills you earn through the 0-0-0-X line of the pilot profession. Though they're optional, I'd expect about 99.9% of pilots to use them. Especially as you get to lvl 3 and higher.

You experimented on the droid data module. You had a run of good experimentation, which caused it's level to go up. Had that happen to me yesterday as well. So I no longer experiment on these at all. I want my lvl1's to remain lvl1, and lvl2's to remain lvl2's. LOL
