ok, a guy asked me for six R2s and he only wanted storage in them. i asked him is he sure. he said ok andhe then asked how much. since i dont stock droids and only do custom jobs, i said ok i can do that today for 100k which i thought was fair. he didnt agree with me. it seemsbecause he only wanted storage in them that they should be less.he told me a story about how he had an R2 with several mods that he got for 60k. comparing that to the 40k i wanted for one that only did item storage he thought i wanted to rip he off, which made no sense. theres great benefit to having all that extra space and its space that doesnt evaporate like the space provided by a backpack buti wanted to meet him halfway since he thought i was trying to be a crook and asked him what he thought was fair.

anyway do you think i was too high?

My pricing per droid is 10-20k for a chasis, I would charge 10k for a regular R2. Then 10k per module.

So he would be looking at 20k a Droid. Which would mean 120k total. However, since they don't take quality resources and he is buying a few of them, I would probably give him all 6 for 100k, so your price is fair.

Heck, I sell MSE storage droids for 20k every day.

I think 100k is a darn good deal. Any less, and you'd be lucky to break even on the resources.

My thoughts on prices are pretty simple. Charge whatever you feel like charging. If people say its too high, thats their problem (though if everyone says its too high and you can't get business it becomes your problem). If people say its too low, again thats their problem. As long as your business is doing as well as you want there's no reason to change prices.

I personally charge 17k for an R2 (20k for Adv) with just a straight Item 6 mod.

Your price is right on par with that.

If he doesn't like it, and says he can get it cheaper elsewhere... then send him on his way.

He'll more than likely be back. He'd be lucky if I didn't bump it up another 5k per just cause he was bein a d*ck.

Yeah...stick to your guns. If they complain about other DE's charging less, let them go to them. They'll be back when they realize a good, committed DE is hard to find. It's not all about price...its about service, friendly attitude, and online-time too.

I feel bad...I charge people based totally on my first impression of them. Ledyll Starkiller will get a good price, especially if she's got a good bio and talks a good game, whereas L33tDoOd YaMama pays through the nose. If 5 people come through my door and order the same droid spec's, they will more than likely each pay a different price...am I bad?

yea.....sort of. If those people all talk to one another, then your repputation is hozed. Best off to stick with a fair price scheme, and provide discounts/freebies to the customers who you really like.

Thats the way I run my buisness, so its just a recomendation.

Hell, I'm on the same server and would have charged him more since I no charge a flat rate based on the chassis used. If the custom order doesn't fill all the module slots, I suggest they get them filled. If they only want one module, I suggest a lower end chassis that won't cost them so much.

So a fair price for an R2 with just storage and a datapad would be 30K? I have a mouse droid that I really need to be rid of and I am looking for a replacement.
