Thread: Mandalorian Droid Horde Attack
Nasty Nasty Idea:
If a whole group is equipped with Mandalorians and sends them against the same target(s), the autoheals add up .... which means well made Mandalorians in a group within 30 m radius get NASTY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Unkillable horde. They heal faster than the enemy can cause damage. I could imagine that they can take down even strong enemies, especially if the enemy isalone (NS elder leader ?). However, so far its only an idea and needs testing. HHmm ... super battle droids in small ship corridors ... hhmmm .... /grin ... 10 Mandalorians from 10 players ... hhmmmm ...... with some additional droid stimpack support from the players ... at 1000 a pop :-)
Distribute them in a group ... go on a killing spree. And lets not forget .. while the droids keep the enemy busy you can hit the mob at leisure. Let me know test results (I try to find a group here).

Wouldn't you need to use 1 module slot for a combat module, thus making the max # of repair mods only 5 modules per droid?

The DE community suspects that the limit for a module is 20, so the best droid can have 6 of them for a total of 120.

You are correct, for a combat model its a theoretical maximum of 100. Either an ADV R3 with a combat module and 5 Autoheal modules or a ADV Probot with 5 autoheal modules. But I think I mentioned that in the original post ... see quote.

We have had threads about Autoheal Tankbots for weeks now.
Autoheal modules can rate up to 25 my best so far are 81% 20.xx which I put x5 into a probot for a friend.
It seems like I'm not the only one that came up with this idea. A few days ago I though about stacking auo-repairs in an R3 and using it as a tank. Let me tell you it works. I stack 5 auto-repair and 1 combat in an ADV R3 and send it tanking. Me and 2 of my friends can take out enraged rancors no problem. Next we are going to try nightsisters and geonoshins. We have 3 of my R3 tank droids all with an auto-heal of 98. The droids hardly even get scratched. Sometimes after tanking I might have to hit the droid with one shot from a stim D.
The other nice thing is that these droids don't do a lot of damage ( less then 100 points ) so they don't steal exp.
I used the ADV R3 instead of the ADV probot because of the ham. The R3 have 4100 HAM while I have been able to make only 2500 HAM probots.

Some of the droid naturally have a 1 dmg combat ability- (I know the DZ70 does, not sure about the R3) so it'll work I think.
The droids that have a 1 combat naturally are the droids that had combat before combat droids came.. you guys remember the days when only probots and DZ70s could attack dont you?
so as long as you stick with one of those 2 frames it can be done

Are you using DE tapes ?
(BE enhanced) crafting food ?
Or only very good resources (what stats) ?
Thank you for the information that 20 is NOT the upper limit.
The point I want to bring across is not what the best tankbot would be as a stand alone product. Just imagine what they can achieve if used en masse. The corvette comes to mind .. 10 people in ... maybe with one droid each ... send all 10 droids against the same target ... will sure keep them busy instead of killing players left and right as the Super Battle droids are so fond of. Or 20 of them at the Death Watch Bunker ... 2000 heal every 10 seconds ...
That post about the use of only 3 against rancor sure gives us a glimpse at the possibilities ... and their threat level increases with every droid added to the horde ...
I've been trying to dig my way through the FAQ's but I still keep comming back to this question:
Could some one post what the stats should look like on a purchase screen, from a vendor, for a good to great tanking droid? It would help a lot, because I don't know what auto-repair 9, combat rating 119, HAM 3,200 means. (Of course I know what 3,200 HAM is, but is this good for an R4?)
Any help would be appreicated.
I suppose that groups buying the auto-repair tanks will also want some power droids, which are much easier to use in a big group rather than running over to where your tank happens to be fighting, stop what you're doing and apply a battery.
Just have the power droid's owner tellorder itto befriend everyone in the group and you have a real droid army.
I think this is the 3rd or 4th thread proposing the auto-repair army, btw. Maybe now there's an actual use and demandfor power droids.
I'm slowly building an auto-repair droid army for my PA, but we plan to use them as damage sinks rather than actual damage causing tank droids, so we're going with adv. probots w/5 auto-repair mods @ 20 rating each. We think that we'll be able to hold a couple of giant dune kimos down with 10droids, while keeping some repair kit Csavailable in case 1 droid gets picked on too much. Someone will keep a power droid out forothers to issue recharge commands to.
