Remember the scene where luke went to the chef to buy some vasarian brandy cause he had a headache.... or the timeyoda became mayor?Or the time that darth vader wore his bio enhanced sweater to stop bleeding? and remember how funny it was when chewbacca went to buy some wookie armor from that armorsmith?

I sure don't... so why is there so much emphosis on this stuff? and so little on droids. They claim that droids are getting major changes... but the changes are called nerfs. Its a joke and allI see is people dropping DE.

But why not nerf an already weak profession?I guess weare tounderstand that droids must beleast important part of starwars, as they have no real purpose in swg.

I agree. Would be awesome in pvp battles if everyone was sporting battle droids on the field. Might actually start to represent a good chunk of star wars

remember how in the phantom menace, attack of the clones, starwars, empire strikes back, and the return of the jedi how droids didn't really do anything.... I mean they were used in almost every battle andalmost every scene... itshardly even worth mentioning droids in this game... Now bio-engineered creatures, that I is something that I remember seeing in every movie...

the spirit of the DE has been crushed.... the forums are like a ghost town, everyone is leaving and probably headed to weaponsmith or armorsmith city.

DO YOU DEVS UNDERSTAND WHY??? I highly doubt it so I am going to tell you why.

#1. WS and AS have a quality product.

#2. WS and AS can compete with amoungst eachother and break personal barriers in crafting due to the heavy reliance on resources and experimentation to make a high end product.

So not only do droid engineers have bad products, they also makecarbon copies of everything. No room to compete....

But I am sure the devs still wont understand what I am saying... or more likely not care. I know that for myself, and many other DE's this is why we left. If the DEVs were smart they would combine AS and WS resource/experimentation attributes into making combat droids. So droid armor would be based on the same qualities AS have, and droids the attackwould be based on the same attributes WS have, aswell as the variety of possible attacks and resistances(ie a droid that can do stun damage, and haveacidresists). And to make sure that droids are notunbalanced make the droids have levels just like CH, then give only DE the ability to use high end droids.

If this were done I garantee that droid engineer would be one of the most sought after professions in the game.... as it should be. But please DEVS.... dont listen to me, just keep on nerfing droids like normal and see what happens to this game.

I would just like to say that I am not going anywhere. It took me so long to grind through DE that I am not about to up and quit just yet.

Agreed. After being a MDE for a few months now...it's totally boring. I trusted the devs for REAL improvement in the profession and all we got was new mods and kits. Boring. Now, I made a good living off selling droids, but damn. I don't want to log on to go to work. Hours spent searching for resources and then mining and then storing and then building and then selling. Crap, where's the fun? Not to say it isn't entertainment to others in the crafting professions, but I'm a casual gamer. I don't have alot of time and when I do have time, I don't want to blow it surveying lol. So I actually mastered Architect in hopes that I could get into a funner crafting profession. Wrong. Good business there, but for a casual player, do not go Architect. Too many resources needed and too much time involved in setting your self up with good equipment. It's pretty bad when an Architect has to buy a factory instead of build one because of a lack of resources...boo.

Enter my original character, Serk the Bounty Hunter. The BH profession is screwed up, too. Half the marks aren't even there and the pay vs. expense ratio sux. I mean, imagine hopping 2 planets and finding out your mark just isn't there when droids confirm otherwise. Grr. The best thing about this game is socializing...guess I shoulda when entertainer. Oh yeah, did that. Boring when your in a cantina alone hehe

If you think about it, SWG is just a glorified chat room. I understand there is more to the SW universe than the tale of Luke Skywalker but damn, those of us who haven't given ourselves over to total SW geekdom WANT to live in that path. The funnest thing I've done so far is the Theme Parks. Working for Jabba rocked and doing the Emporer's dirty work ruled. Everything else is **edit**. Who want's to waste time on a beta and have to pay for it, too? Not me.

Boring game if you don't PVP and even if you do, it's the same thing...those that have the time own...those that don't just push up daisies

SWG is no longer fun, it's the most boring game I have currently and I've logged of indefinately. Good luck!

Exactly...

*KNOCKS ON DEVS HEADS* WAKE UP!!!

Lets make alist of what every desireble crafting profession has, then lets compare it to droid engineer.

LOOT

Most other crafting professionsget to put loot into thierproducts that makes it work better.

Droid Engineers get another kick in the face.

EXPERIMENTATION & RELIANCE ON RESOURCES

Every other crafting profession has a heavy reliance on resources & experimentation for thier product. This allows for competition amoungst crafters in the same trade, and makes it more enjoyable.

Droid Engineers get to make carbon copies of everything. Not exciting in the least, infact very boring.

PRODUCTS

Every other crafting profession has something that is in demand. And will enhance stats in someway. Wether its resistance to attacks, increasing ham temporarily, a nice gun to kill things with... etc.

Droid Engineers make products that just copy other things in the game, but are maybe 10% as good at the maximum. Nothing origional, and nothing that droid engineers can actually call thier own. Even if DE'scould make products 50% equivalent to the origionals that would be decent.

HALF CRAFTING PROFESSIONS

These are the professions that arent pure crafters (ones that come after the engineering tree). Thesecrafters make a valueble product. Smugglers make spice, doctors buff... etc. But Smugglers also get some nice skills with the pistol, doctors can still heal people. Basicly what I am saying is that even though they can still craft items that people want, they get the bonus of extra skills. Some of them being very very cool in my opinion.

Droid Engineers get to strictly make droids.

SLICING

Weapons and Armor can be sliced. I understand that these are really the only things that can be benificialy sliced in the game, and many other things cannot be sliced. But this just goes to show that the devs are placing favor on one area of the game in comparison to another.

Droids should be able to be sliced, they are made of the same stuff as armor, weapons, and terminals.

EFFORT

Every other crafting profession does not have to craft nearly as many nested components with identicle parts as the droid engineer.

Conclusion

In my opinion droids are currently not a valueble part of this game, and the devs nerfing them even further proves this. I am disgusted and dissapointed. I gave up my MDE because of this. IMO skill points should be based on how important a profession is. Master Armor Smith, Master Commando, and Master Armorsmith should take every skill point a person has to get, and Master droid engineer should maybe take 25 skill points.

Please feel free to add to this list. Lets show the Devs that they how little they use thier brains when it comes to this profession.

best thread ever can we get a sticky on how boring this game is and how the devs mislead the community with the last patch. plain and simple it all sucked **edit**. also id like to know how much money was exchanged with lucas arts for this wookiee armor thing is it all about money.. come now guess what wookies get the +300 ham bonus and now armor too **edit** is that all about. droid engineer is a fast dieing profession. i will also be selling all my de resources and terminating my de account in 30days ( had so many houses to store so much junk thx devs maybe id like a painting every now and then). Yea de is good if you like to make crafting droids lol oo aa but once the vendor is full then you are left with nothing to do -no- nice**edit** loot anywhere to enhance your current product. and that last patch geez **edit** you and your lousy wallpaper you showed it to the community and they bought it then they got in the game and guess what no new droids. how many times do i have to say this NEW CHASISES (THATS RIGHT PLURAL **edit**HEADS!)would save this profession if the**edit** devs and correspondent you have representing you dont let it be known then you are screwed into another month of lousy gameplay dont be stupid.. either step up to the plate with the devs and this correspondant or dont whine. Also to the **edit**head that posted "they do too and i know it!" (in reference to the devs reading the de forum..) well then that is even worse and as far as im concerned you should be **edit** ashamed of yourself for letting it be known that they are aware but dont give a flying. Just cause your name is blue doesnt mean you don't suck **edit** too!
