Thread: I caved... I just couldn't do it...
as hard as I tried, I couldn't make a steady profit from novice DE.
So I took my ATST and Graul and ran over to endor. :-/
How many people here actually made all their money from just being artisan-DE?
That's a good amount. but destroy missions get 100-200k an hour.

I do. I make anywhere from 100k-300k a day from Master DE and Artisan parts.
The most I've ever had as a DE is 80k (of course I do fund my harvestors and such) but not much left over for the girls at the cantina.
But yes, I've only sold bots.... no missions for me at all.

Honestly though why do you need 100-200k an hour? I have more money than I can spend just from selling droids. I guess if you want to be the richest person around thats a great way to go, but I'm content just knowing all my needs/wants are well taken care of.
Also since I have mostly DE/Merchant skills I really can't hold my own on some of the harder planets.
I have near no combat experience. (unless you count shooting things while I burst run away experience). I stick purely to droid sales. I have enough to make what I need and enough to keep my harvestors going. Very zenlike ...im content and in harmony with the world hehe

Well when I'm not a master DE I need that much to grind to master DE :-/. 30k steel costs 90k... even junk steel!
I don't like grinding with my ditanium and good minerals.
Compare DE profits;200k a day, to armorsmith profits; 1 million a day. to architect profits 1 million a day. to weaponsmith profits 3 million a day. And when new weapons became available some were making 12 million in one day.
I make about the same in sales as Gimps does a day. I was also lucky enough to start making sales as soon as I hit Novice, since I started out on Shadowfire only about a week after it went up. I offer other items in my shop, but my income is from droid sales alone. I haven't run a mission for money in well over a month and thats was before I hit master and I was running21 medium harvesters, 3 factories,3 houses, and 3 vendors.
A lot of people just can't hang with the life of a craft. If you ever had the chance to be on a newer server it becomes really apperant after the first few weeks. You'll see a bunch of crafters shoot up their tree, but end up burning themselves out on trying to keep up with either, orders, resources, or customer assistance. Shadowfire was really heavy on the crafters when it opened and I've seen about 20 people that I did business with in the past cave under the stresses of being a crafter. Its a full time job.
I'm not even strong enough to solo the 5k missions on yavin 4, much less the good ones on endor or dathomir. I was making good money at tatooine, but then they nerfed the mission spawn distances, so good bye to that.
I sell the ocassional bot on my vendors but if I want to make some real cash I have to go to a populated place (my favourite is Bestine or Corronet) and then ply my trade. I will always make 50-60k, my record so far is 107k in one nights crafting.
Sometimes I go with a bunch of droids to sell, sometimes I just take custom orders and build insit. Its a more RP way of grinding up the skill tree.
But, as it has already been said, being a crafter is a full time job. You cant afford to be a combat type as well.
Things are beginning to get to the stage where I have a reputation, I am now recieving emails from ex-customers inviting me to get in touch with a friend for an order. That is a nice place to be, you know the service you are offering is keeping people happy (despite all of the nerf issues we have)

That's where I wanna eventually get to. I'll give up my CH when I get to master, but right now I need to make some extra cash.
What type of pre-made droids sell well? adv probots with food craft? R2 with med and food?
