Thread: JTL skill level and Astromech types
Droid Data Module
Droid Data Modules can store Factory Draft Schematics. If installed in one of the R-Series Droids, a Data Module can be used in the X-Wing, Y-Wing, and Z95 Headhunter.
Level 1 Data Module = 20 Storage Capacity = Novice Pilot
Level 2 Data Module = 40 Storage Capacity = xxx1 Pilot
Level 3 Data Module = 70 Storage Capacity = xxx2 Pilot
Level 4 Data Module = 110 Storage Capacity = xxx3 Pilot
Level 5 Data Module = 125 Storage Capacity = xxx4 Pilot
Level 6 Data Module = 150 Storage Capacity = Master Pilot

Be careful, because each astromech droid types also requires a certain level of skill for the Player Character to be able to use it. Advanced R4's for example, require Astromech skill level 6. Don't go making a run of R2 units and expect them to sell right away since their won't be many people able to use them...
That being said, we need to have the skill level to use listed at the beginning schematic screen. This will allow the DE's to know what can be used when so that we can plan accordingly. Right now, the skill level only shows up in final combine and by examining the deed itself.
Ummm.....Gray, you might want to take a look at the information in the DE 101 guide, since your information is incorrect.
TheAstromech Chassis being used is not want is important. The Astromech Level is completely dependent on the Level of the Data Storage Module.

For example, if I put a data module of each level into one astromech, what skill level rating is that droid? Can I use it throughout my piloting career? Or is the skill usage based off of the total quality of the combined data modules?
the moduels will stack (just like befor) making it a level 6 unit the droid will only be useable at level 6 cert
The Astromech Level is completely dependent on the
Level of the Data Storage Modulelevel of the Data strage raiting (that nimber that goes from 1 - 13 )
I think this is where the confusion is. if i make a level 2 unit and get real good experimentation it could be a pilot level 3 droid. as the data raiting woulde be the same as a level 3 unit.
LevelRating Capacity
1 1 - 2 20
23 - 4 40
35 - 6 70
47 - 8110
5 9 - 10 125
6 11+150"

Okay, D. The lack of understanding of that chart is that I was informed that some "item levels" go as high as 10...not sure what items or how this works. That chart only shows 6 steps from novice to master.
this is true but droid certs and ship parts certs at diffrent the reason for that is a SW can make you level 7 gear but at that level you can use 1-8 level 8 stuff can only be looted.. its to keep looted items and Reverse Engineering ussfull.
at 4444 you can use level 9 gear SW can make this but at maset pilot you can use level 10 gear which is only avalible by loot
