Thread: A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away...

It is a dark time for the Rebellion. Although the Death Star has
been destroyed, Imperial troops have driven the Rebel forces from
their hidden base and pursued them across the galaxy.
Evading the dreaded Imperial Starfleet, a group of freedom fighters
led by Luke Skywalker has established a new secret base on the remote
ice world of Hoth.
The evil lord Darth Vader, obsessed with finding young Skywalker,
attempts to dispatch thousands of remote probes into the far reaches of
space... Unfortunately, he is unable to find droid engineers with any
in stock.

Taking a well-deserved vacation from his successful Droid Engineering business, Master Rho can be found puttering around the galaxy.

Lucky for Vader he kept that pre-nerf Probot safely hidden, or he would have never found luke. =P

It is C3PO I feel sorry for - Chewbakka gave up his DE skills for chef, so C3PO is still in parts in a box in a store room on Cloud City....

Nah.. the probot must have been post-nerf. Did you see how long it took between shots, and how easily it was knocked down by Solo and Chewie?

This post just game me an epiphiny.

The devs are basing their treatment of DE's on this scene (where, btw, the probe self destructed).... that explains SO much

...Darth Vader walks into the Merchant Tent.

"Hey there, Darth Vader", Vendor: Droids says to Darth Vader exuberantly, "you look like you could use a companion. Come in an check out my fine selection of droids!"

Darth Vader checks out her inventory... waits...waits... waits...

*No items available in selected category*

"Vendor: Droids will feel my wrath for this!" Darth Vader says angrily, reaching out a black-gauntleted hand toward the vendor.

"What?" Darth Vader says angrily, "No 'attack' option? None can withstand the power of the Dark Side. I shall place a town hall and tax this structure out of existance!"

Darth Vader storms off to the neighboring tent to see if the architect left any Town Halls in stock.

So, let me get this straight: To advance my character, I have to give up my current abilities?

Vader: "You may use any methods necessary but no disintegrations!"

IG-88: "low power"

Vader: "Admiral get me another crate of batteries!"

Admiral: "Sir we are out of batteries but I have this Power Droid"

Vader: "Recharge"

Power Droid: "low power"

Vader: "You have failed me for the last time Admiral!"

Admiral: "I'm sorry Sir ahhh...choke...choke...crunch"

Power Droid "GONK!"

Actually, Darth must have holo'd DE. Remember when he was on Tatooine as a slave when he was Anakin? He was a MDE and he surrendered his skills to be a Sith Lord. Oh, how history repeats itself with SWG.

We thought CU was the end of SWG. We were wrong. CU2 is. A complete overhaul. So I start this thread for us compile our favorite memories of what once was a great game. I'll start.

I remember when Moenia (Corbantis) was a thriving place, whose cantina's were always filled with players as you would see them now in Mission Outpost on Dantooine.

I remember a group of 15 of us running 2k + to a mission and hoping none of us would have to clone.

There were no mounts or speeders. No player cities. If you were lost in the middle of nowhere, well... you walked/ran 5kor so to the nearest starport. Yeah, we ran everyone. Jedi??? Where??? Who??? No way???

Continue....

I liked the droid invaision, I can't remember what publish did it but I was sitting in bestine and all the sudden you hear a terrible noise and battle droids appear (for the first time in the game I belive) and everyone arround had to help take them down.

First time I saw vader come down on a shutle.

Still have yet to see an AT-AT in all the time I have played though.

SWG an empire divided... 60$ X2 120$
Jump to Light speed ........30$ X 2 60$
Rage of the Wookies....... 30$ X 2 60 $
Trials of Obi Wan ............ 30$ X 1 30$ (not 2 because of impending doom)

Paying 1,170$ and spending 1000+ hrs developing charectors and gathering items only to be told go f--- yourself .......Priceless
