Thread: Silence Unbroken

Awful quiet out there. I'm guessing most of the Droid Engineer Trolls have quit/given up?

Hard to blame them:

Droid Invasion thread on In Development - sidetracked and forgotten.

Uber-post on Droids - You must be joking.

Information about Publish 7 - haven't seen any...did I miss something?

Yeah, it is seeming that way....

Complete and utter silence from the devs, too on the matter of droids.

Well, duh. The only reason they were here in the first place was to get their Droideka.

Point. However, I think the folks wanting the bugs fixed are still here - at least one of them. Goranoth's bug list is back, and looking suspicously similar to the one from, oh, 4 months ago. And the one before that, and the one before that....I see a pattern.

I STILL WANT MY DROIDEKA! *sob*

Many of the old timers have given up and have departed, too.

I think everyone is feeling pretty worn down by the Sisiphus routine....

I was not here for the droiddeka, i was not a troll, and i am giving a pause to my DE character since the only BIG advancement since the launch of the game is a advance Binary Load Lifter more usefull than a MSE mouse droid but less than Advance MSE mouse droid.

Combat droid or not there was enough to make for the profession more usefull than Decorative Engineer, medic module crafter , or Portable private crafting station maker.

just have rewatch episode IV V and VI and WOW it is amazing what can R2D2 do ! not a computer system can resist him ! all my R2 droids can do is bipping *low power* following me ...

So i think all that can explain that i am a little less enthusiastic about what will become the DE profession.

From now on i am mostly waiting and seeing what the Devs announce , that is to say nothing ...

Well...this veteran hasn't quite given up. I decided to run about and do some other things (mastered Medic and CM, did the Act 3 thing, etc.).

I'm sure that by the time the Droid Evasion actually starts to roll out, there will be VERY few veterans left.

I guess I've reached a point with the Devs where I've kind of given up on them every listening, much less giving us any useful or worthwhile information on our profession.

Honestly....I think a lot of us understand it better than they do.

So much for communication...

Personally, I feel as I've been ridden hard and put up wet. The energy's gone, there's no point in debate/discussion as we're not heard, much less listened to.

I, too, have been doing other things, finished the Imp themepark before the patch, getting ready to do it again gonna try out Jabba's place once I kill enough Valarians, gonna do some hunting to check out the new loot system, etc.

I really do like this game, but need to get away from the DE "black hole" for a bit, I'm keeping master, will still make droids to order, but stocking the vendor is a waste of time, IMO....

I've been doing other things as well... Meaning other than playing SWG. I am signing in every few days, and basically making sure none of my structures is burning down.

I've also been doing other things, but then again, I always have.

I think this may be why I'm not as frustrated as the rest of the community. My goal has been to be a DE since I bought the game, which was only a couple weeks after release. But it took me a while to get there because I was doing other things too.

I finally became a Novice Droid Engineer sometime in, oh I'd say October or November... I really can't remember anymore. It may be longer. Right now I'm at 2/2/0/3. I don't grind (I do "practice" sometimes while waiting for shuttles or what-not). I get my DE XP by making droids for the bazaar or for people who order them.

So yeah, it's taking me forever to climb the tree. But a lot of you have been Master DE's for as long as I've had Engineering II, and that may be the significant difference between us. I'm still frustrated, but since I'm not even half-way through the tree yet I'm only half as frustrated...

I did that shellfish tool quest yesterday.... okay, that was short and fun. My probot got a workout.

I made vehicle customization kits.... nice, I finally have a blue/black swoop that matches my clothes.

....

....

Did I mention that I got the shellfish tool?
