Thread: Do you tip your tumbler?

I do. I tipped my tumblers 2,500 credits per lvl I gained. I know it can be frustrating when you tip a tumbler and someone else comes by and just starts dogging you out and taking all the XP, but sometimes that happens.

I have just noticed that for the past week I have left my player tumbling in the med center with a request for tips every 3 or 4 minutes. I come home in the morning and log back in once the servers are back up and find I made all of 0 credits. yet my wife has told me that people are constantly healing me all night until she goes to bed. So thats 12 hours of tumbling and no tips. Sometimes I do come home and see a 500 tip from one person. Kinda sad. Yeah I am AFK, but I am also helping get them XP. So tonight she told me people were all around healing me, but my balance had not changed. I told her to kill the macro.

I tipped people all the way up, even people that got used by other grinding medics. Do you tip? Why or why not? No flames please. Just let me know your reasons for tipping or not tipping without ripping into me. Thanks.

This is a sad but all-too-true story anymore. I have tipped tumblers on various occasions on my way to both MCM and MD anywhere from 500 to 5000 credits, depending on how directlyI was able to increase my med xp by healing them. This wasbefore the med centers became "tumbler conventions". There were so many medics jockeying for heals that I didn't even bother joining in anymore. And the tipping problem doesn't stop there at all - I don't bother going into med centers anymore to provide heals as I haven't been tipped in weeks. Hell, I used to consider myself lucky if the person even graced me with a "thanks for the heals doc".. But what comes around goes around I guess, if the increasing number ofpeople running around pleading for heals is an indicator. But then too, I'm noticing a distinct decline in civility and good gamesmanship in general as this game reaches a wider audience. Perhaps time to get to the "dark side" ending of knights of the old republic I think, and leave SWG to the increasing # of trash-talking kiddies that seem to be taking it over...

Sorry, got into a leedle /rant at the end there...

I give them a free quickness and stamina buff occationally (did that only twice actually) if every medic/doc is busy healing the tumblers and all the dying patients are being ignored.

Heal damage and wound is on a different timer dammit so please help those in need!

I dont normally tip a tumbler, but I do tip entertainers in the cantina that are ATK. I see tumbling as a kinda abuseing the system to fit our needs for med xp. If the tumbler on the other hand were ATK too I would certinaly tip him/her, I want to feel like I am healing a person and not some tumbling monkey. And again I stress that if we as medic/cm/doc's are to make any form of comitment to our paitens they had better tip us too if we heal like 200+ wounds on your person. It goes both ways.

But I cant see why there are some that refuse to stop healing the tumblers and heal a real paitent that walks in the door with wounds, I know I did when I was in the medcenters/hospitals. So do not fear if I ever see a person with wound I will make him/her my priority still.

How does that help them if they have left their body there to tumble for you? They aren't going to fight anywhere...

I agree completly.I used tumblers to gain XP so I can help these guys. I mean come on! If you are healing tumblers then take a moment to heal the truly injured. I have tumbl;ed for peeps and someone hurt comes in and the guy healing me does noting for the poor soul. I will heal though, right in the middle of tumbling. I havent gotten a tip from anyone, but thanks has been enough. I have even stopped tumbling so I could craft wound packs that I need to fix them if I had run out. To bad for the guy getting XP off me He should have stepped up and done his job.

What does ATK mean?

Nope, but it will effectively keep them from giving people (exploiter IMHO) XP by healing them all night. There are more noble ways to get Medic XP - heal people in the Cantina or the ones with wounds.

ATK means at the keyboard, just as people playing a game should be most of the time, not just every now and then.

I never used a tumbler for XP. I got all my med XP from healing the wounded or entertainers.

A GREAT place to lvl up quickly is fly into Coronet and heal people as they arrive. Of course I'd recommend a good internet connection for this.

I have, and do tip my tumbler/s. I can't afford much, but a 1-3k tip for a med exp grinding session at least shows some appreciation for the help w/ exp.

I refuse to tip anyone that's afk. I don't tip afk entertainers or tumblers.

That being said, i'd never be caught dead healing a tumbler in a public med center .... I do however buff their quickness as a token of my gratitude ...

I have left my toon tumbling many nights in the Med Center after I made Master Doc, but my /shout macro always insisted on NO TIPS for me. I was doing it to help the up-and-coming medics and doctors grind. Tumbling for free majorly pissed off the professional tumblers to the point of hate mails. Apparently the grinders didn't feel the need to tip the pros when I was around.

Oh, and I also got tipped tons even when I insisted on no tips. Go figure.
