Ignore tossers like those...
or better, write their names down and when they 'fix' jedi healing remember not to group with the losers on that list

Since you are a pikeman also, you've got the combat skills to complement your healing. So worry not. If some funky group like that is simply "waiting" for 2 slots to fill up with Jedi Healers, they can wait (odds are they may have actually had the people on the way). And when the MBH comes and kills them, they can do even more waiting.

Well, I'm worriedTheir number is growing up week after week (this week we have 6-7 new players on the italian community forum and their first question was "How do I become a Jedi/Sith?").Nowdays someone prefers to have in the group Jedi HealersinsteadofDoctors, what will happen in the next months?
Nearly every players first question in the game is "how do I become a Jedi?". It is nothing new.
If a group on Dant is waiting for some random Jedi healer to joing thier group they are fools. Not because a Jedi cant heal well, but because a Jedi healer is not likely to join some random group to grind and if they do they will be looking to get xp and they dont get that by playing a healing role.
I would wager that a doc is one of the most useful members of any 8 member party. The Adrinaline boost alone makes use well liked by any knowledgeable group. That action buff is also very handy for high end players. It is hard, however, to explain this to unknowing folks. It will take some time I think for people to get over the "docs are useless in the CU" mentality and begin evaluating our skills for how they really work in the CU.
QFE. I dropped the skills I had in Ranger for Doc (I wasnt a Master Ranger and am not yet a Master Doc). All my guildies love it, and whenever I get in a real high level group and go out on Dant or anywhere else, I always get thanks and general appreciation. Far from useless....

I agree completely. As a Jedi Healer, I know my limitations. Yes I can heal an entire group by myself. But I can't rez, I can't buff, I can't drag, I can't do any number of things that only a doctor or combat medic can do. And because of that, I always welcome having at least 1 in my groups. If we're going to do something hard, then I specifically FIND one for my group.
Doctors aren't in any danger of being replaced by Jedi by any group that's actually worth getting an invite to. The longer we play, the more people will figure this out.
I think that if you want to use his method of healing, you should take up Teras Kasi alongside Doctor. It'll save you millions on armor and let you do the same thing.

I can't step foot into the Dantooine Mining Outpost without people asking me to group with them. Thats probably because my way of healing is to out aggro with my heals then spam heal myself while the rest of the group takes out the creatures attacking me. For some reason people like it when I do that rather than when I try to avoid aggro. If there happens to be a Jedi healer or another doctor or combat medic in the group they simply toss the occassional heal on me and spend the rest of the time fighting. It's not the best tactic for all situations like the Avatar but for Dantooine lair farming it works like a charm.
I did this for a while too, but after a few hours I casually checked my armor and weapon stats, and the armor was just destroyed. After that, i wasn't so keen about being the group tank.

The thought has crossed my mind on numerous occassions.
If that's the answer for you, then so be it. But it doesn't change the fact that groups doing difficult things need doctors.

I have a TKM/Doc on Eclipse and he's very 'low maintenance' as far as costs go. I buy new clothes for him when I get bored with looking at his old ones and that's about it. ![]()
With CoB and Inate Armour and Doc Heals I can tank 2 level 80s without breaking into a sweat, 3 if I have to but I tend to run out of action killing the third one ![]()
