Today I was on Dantooine. Suddenly I found some players forming a hunt group, so I asked Invite. That was the answer of the group leader, when I said I'm a Doc: "Sorry, we don't need a Doc. We still have 2 slots free in our group, but we want to keep them for Jedi Healers, they can heal faster and better than you, sorry."
Great... I grinded a useless profession, and Jedi stole my role in the party![]()
They idiots then bec. Doctor is still pretty useless (Meant to say Useful), if they die who will rez them? Find another group. Maybe we doctors and combat medics should team up and not rez any player (that is not Doctor/Combat Medic) for two weeks to show the public we are angered and still are important!
i have no trouble getting into a group, some of the group members even thank me for doing well, as for the group your tryed to join think what m8ty said would most probely be correct, thay where waiting for the 2 jedi as already given the slots to them.

I can't step foot into the Dantooine Mining Outpost without people asking me to group with them. Thats probably because my way of healing is to out aggro with my heals then spam heal myself while the rest of the group takes out the creatures attacking me. For some reason people like it when I do that rather than when I try to avoid aggro. If there happens to be a Jedi healer or another doctor or combat medic in the group they simply toss the occassional heal on me and spend the rest of the time fighting. It's not the best tactic for all situations like the Avatar but for Dantooine lair farming it works like a charm.
I did this for a while too, but after a few hours I casually checked my armor and weapon stats, and the armor was just destroyed. After that, i wasn't so keen about being the group tank.
I haven't spent a lot of time looking for random groups to hunt with. I usually hunt with my guildmates and I'm one of the most popular people in the guild because 1. I'm one of the few healers in the guild and am thus very useful, 2. I am the only master dancer, actually master entertertainer of any kind, so I'm the only one who can give out inspiration buffs and cure BF, 3. My character is hot and usually dressed like a floozy. ![]()
The one big advantage docs have over jedi is the buffing and the ability to heal wound points, and most importantly, master docs can raise dead characters. Because docs are no longer hanging around med centers, whenever I am wandering through a city or anywhere near a med center, I often hear things such as 'Finally, a doctor!" or 'Look, there's a doc. Can you heal us?' I always get barraged by tells asking for heals.
There are roles for docs and I'm slowly starting to find them. That's the whole thing, is you've got to find your role. I was fortunate to find mine in a guild. Granted, jedi can heal damage far faster. Considering the outcry over that in most forums, I expect that ability may get turned down a bit someday. But even if it doesn't, there's room for docs and jedi in the same group. Jedi players want xp and being the group healer won't help them much in that area. Docs want to get med xp, so healing is all they want to do. There's no reason the two couldn't work together. My character heals very well, but sometimes gets overwhelmed when we get a whole bunch of aggros on us. The combined healing powers of a jedi and my character could prevent incaps and deaths. When I get to master doc, I can even raise the players who do die. What group wouldn't want that ability around?
I say the group you were asking to join just didn't know the doc class completely and wasn't aware of your potential. Don't let it bother you. Ithought docs would stink too when I first looked at them, but now that I've played one for a while, I can definitely see the benefits.

I think that if you want to use his method of healing, you should take up Teras Kasi alongside Doctor. It'll save you millions on armor and let you do the same thing.

The thought has crossed my mind on numerous occassions.
Mine too, in fact, I originally started my Doc out as TK long before the CU. Maybe if I ever get through the village, i can make my bonus toon the ch so that'll free up my doc to become tk. Yup, that's the plan, or rather very long term goal.
Another satisfied TKM/MDoc(/MMedic for fun). As mentioned, my most significant expense is tipping Entertainers and buying a new set of clothes when I get bored with the current set.
No problems with group invites, either. Just advertise "Master Doc seeking party", and nine times out of ten, will find a party promptly. After a few /revives on party members and /bactaSpray on groups in combat, I suddenly have a party full of people who have a huge appreciation for party docs.
... even in parties that have Jedi.

its likely the group leader was a newbie who just wanted to say he had a jedi in his group
Had this happen to me on Lok.. I let its lide.. but took note of the name..
Sure enough about 10 minutes later, I get a message.. can I get a rez?
Ahh the irony..

It's worth noting that Jedi Healers are going to get a mind cost on their heals. That may changea lot, although we'll have a bunch of j3d1 come to the Doc forum to scream at us.
I was in a party that took out N-K Necrosis last night, and the jedi's healing ability is really quite absurd. 1500 points of healing from a range of like 75m, which can be spammed every second or so. While I do wish sucha thing would be reduced, i'd much rather have some morebuffs for the docs in terms of healing power (and wound healing power, because, surprise, the jedi healer does that faster and for more as well...).
I have been in several groups where we kept a spot open specificaly for a Doc/CM and when that person left, we went back to MO looking for a Doc to fill back in.
I dont think the answer is to nerf Jedi. I think the answer is to make us more powerful.
>Our heals need to be much more potent than they currently are.
>As for buffs, the Devs have made it clear that we will not get anything more powerful, so the only answer to that is to increase the duration at Master. 40 mins might seem like a long time, but it really goes by fast in acutaly game time.
