Thread: How do you guys feel about charging for heals?

I don't charge for heals, but quite ofteh get payed for them. I don't think anyone has an obligation to provide a heal as a doctor. I personally get a kick out of healing someone at a starport that doesn't even see me coming. They whip around to look at me, and then, usually a "TY" balloon pops over their heads.
That being said, the best time to heal, for me at least in Coronet's Med center on the Intrepid Server, is any of the weekend nights, after 9 or so EST. When i ask Mr.Blackbar what kinf of days he's having, I get variation on "Aggro'ed by a set of ..... when my buffs ran out" or something similiar. Those folks are appreciative of the heals, and tip well. I've been given a Tusken outfit before, which looked awfully funny on my Rodian 
Anyway, I would suggest that the best way to get paid to heal is to group with members of a guild and go hunt. You'll split the booty, and they get to keep fighting.

once again it depends on my mood.
good mood=free wound heals/poison and disease cures/fireblanket
bad mood=1k each
and saying that its a doc job to heal for free is like saying that its a tka job to go out and complete my missions for me. its just not true.

Personally, I would never charge for healing someone's wounds, and I regard a thank you to be enough. Anytips I recieve is nowadays more a good gesture that makes me feel appreciated than something I would have any real use of. For me being a Doctor is fixing people up, no matter how convinced they are to pay me for the trouble.
As to being wounded myself... if someone takes care of my wounds/BF before I have the chance... I always tip them. Maybe not a large amount, but I still hope it to have the same effect on them as it has on me.

I do not charge, since good, even great wound packs do not require great resources...buffs on the other hand are a different story.

Lets say it as small as 10 cr per point. We use Diag, count up the points and they pay up front? Even Medics can get in on the fun.
if you are talking about just normal heals, not wounds, then that would be devastating for new players. picture charging 5k to heal 500 points, if you dont like healing then dont do it

Of course you should charge for wounds, just because it takes less money to make a wound pack than it does a buff pack, does NOT mean it takes no money.
I charge 1c per wound. Even new players have that type of money, doing missions gets them at LEAST 100c per. By the time thier done with a few missions, they may have racked up 100-500 wounds. And that is a bit extreme.
Old players should have NO problem at all paying 500c for 500 wounds. If they do, they need to rethink thier methods of getting money.

I never charge for general heals, or wound healing. If someone wishes to express gratitude for said healing with a tip, then that's fine.
Anymore, I don't do much healing, state healing, poison/disease curing or anything of the like unless it's in a hunting group. I don't need the xp, and usually don't hang out in the med center at all anymore unless it's in my hometown where there's a crafting station or two setup or I can heal my wounds in private. I still randomly heal people who need it if I'm running back and forth between missions or looking for a weapons shop or something. It's funny to see how shocked some players, especially n00bs, are at the kindness. Though, I don't believe it's expected of me as a doctor anymore than it's expected that someone with scout skills would harvest me meat whenever they hunt.
Buffs are a different matter. I only buff myself and guild members. But, due to the cost of buying the buff packs, I'll probably start having to buff for cash.

I always tip doctors. Even if they only heal 10 wounds in the med center. I'll even tip the doctor in my group, especiallyif I see him going through lots of stim packs. Don't feel bad for charging, it's costing you money for the meds.

apparently I'm on the wrong server lol. I hang out on Ahazi, maybe 1:100 tips, and it's mostly the noobs that do it.
Sure it's nice to get tips, I won't charge though. In some cases I have downright refused to heal people however - you know, the people that try to bully a heal out of you when you are doing something else.

I never charge for wound heals. It is my duty as a doctor. It's nice when people pay, but overall I refuse to charge for simple wound heals. I chose to be a doctor to heal people not make a buck.

Easy their big time, it was just an idea. I have seen people talk about the price of wound packs and figured this was a small amount of money that could go towards the packs.
