Hello fellow doctors,

Ive been a master doc for a few months now. I work extremely hard to gather the best top quality resources i can find. If its not spawning and i need it...i pay big bucks for it so all of my meds can be top quality. My question to you guys is...How do you get peeps to pay more than 7k for buffs. All of mine enhance every statfor about 2150 and i hear a bunch of bull**edit** if i ask for more than 7k. For a while i havent even been selling buffs and i have to rely on my vendor for income. When people ask for buffs now...i just tell them im out of packs because its not worth my time to take off my armor...which is not easy to get on, get my character situated to buff properly (bioclothing, food, droid, etc etc) for 7k. Dont get me wrong...im not flat broke because i sell rare items alot in games, but i just dont find doctor to be very profitable on wanderhome.

any of your thoughts or *solutions* would be helpful and appreciated

Just charge what you want for those buffs, they are good ones, and if they do not like it just say "NEXT"!.

As far as going on group hunts, make the price known before you go with them.

are you saying maybe i should charge a *fee* for my skillz while grouping...if they are expecting me to rez, heal, buff etc? I have always just went ahead and did it not asking for charge because was grouped with me...and are usually my faction, free buffs etc. When i was a newb docs didnt group with us...they just chilled out in cities. I HATE sitting in a city just shouting out im selling buffs, lol

Remember, they are the ones that need buffs, not you. Charging 10K on an advanced planet is nothing, and should be more for your buffs. If your groups want free buffs, tell them that you need free 900+ OQ/PE Avian meat, at least 1K from each of them. If you want to be nice about it, tell them that resource costs have gone up, which they always do. Therefore, you are forced to charge more to cover your costs. I've told people that I'm not in competition with other Docs, so I charge the price I think is fair.

Hey there. I'm a combat type on Kauri, and the docs on Kauri *routinely* charge anywhere from 8k to 15k for buffs. The common ground seems to be 12k nowadays, and I'm overly joyed when I find someone selling them for 10k.

Just thought I'd enlighten you.

So sell 'em for as much as you desire.

10k is nothing for the buffs you have, Masdalasa. If people dont want to pay that, they will have to be re-educated.

Remember, two super-easy Savage Quenker missions on Dant, will yield around 13k. This will take anyone 5-10 minutes to do, and then the buffs are paid for. Its a damn bargain and they if dont realize that, they are just being stupid.

dont buff people who complain about price, NEVER buff them. The 10k tippers (people who tipped me 10k when i charge 8k) they come back, they apprechiate me being social and they always come back and never complain about a dud buff). The cheap people freak out if one hits to low.

Don't buff those people. I even tell people, "i tink there is another doc inside the starport charging less" most the time they dont go use that other doc, cause most the time they know mine are better

I buff for 2175, 3.75 hours, and I charge 13k. (1cr/enh, 13050 total enhance)

I haven't had a person even bat an eye at me. I don't buff at starports and such, only on adventure planets ifa person notices me calling out my R3 unit, Bedpan and asks. But they say would you buff me? I say "2175 enhance, 3 hours 45 minutes, 13K credits."

Wham. I get a tip of 13-15K like that. Maybe it's because I'm a Pistoleer, and they know that I'm going to go make money just as fast as they are, and could care if they get buffed or not. The money I make buffing people pales compared to the 200+ thousand I'm going to make off one set of buffs.

If they don't want to pay the price, don't buff them.

It isn't worth your time to argue the price of YOUR product and service.

I hate how much photoshop calls; but I do not call Adobe and ask them to renegotiate.

Buff packs are expensive to make.

It really ticks me off when people complain about buff prices. Until the combat / explorer types stop charging 150cpu for the uber avian meat and herb meat... their buffs are going to cost more.

I dont typically sell buffs, but I gave it shot the other day because I needed some credits. I sold mine at 13k (and offered a lower level buff for 10k for those who were jsu doing PvE mission grinding). At one point (in coronet) my line was long enough that the players names above their heads were no longer visible. People will pay 13k. If another Doc hadn't showed up to help....I probably would have doubles my prices just to thin out the line!

Here is my rule of thumb:

Given whatit costs you to make the packs... sell the buffs what seems fair TO YOU. If someone doesnt want to pay .. so be it. wait a while and your line will fill up regardless. I dont know why we have to be expected to lower our prices so as not to seem greedy when the people wwe are buffing are seriously asking for 150cpu for the meat used to make the buff packs.

Every server has its own unique ecomony.. Wanderhome may just not be as inflated as other servers yet?

Scylla is about 10k on average.. but I have noticed more 12k buffers since we had an awesome spawn of avian that totally drove the cost of buff packs up..

Every merchant has this issue since the dawn of time. Every buy wants a bargin. Every seller want the most they can get.

I made a post on buffing for cash a while back. You may want to do a search for it.

Basically, charge what you want. If they don't want pay then go do something else. It is that simple.

As for hunt groups, when I had no combat skills I believed I was the support guy and would support the group anyway I could. Just as the combat guys did their best to kill as best they could. I was out to get xp so I was happy to heal. I was also after the mission money. They key question you should ask yourself is what is it you want out of the group. Personaly I think charging for healing and rezing while in a group is bad form. I would only charge for buffs. Stims and rez kits are cheep to make, buffs aren't.
