Thread: 10k??
Some people don't realize that
1. Buffs are expensive to buy/make
2. Spending my time in a starport buffing is not exactly what I'd call "fun". I can just as easily spend my time elsewhere.

If its not spawning and i need it...i pay big bucks for it so all of my meds can be top quality. My question to you guys is...How do you get peeps to pay more than 7k for buffs. All of mine enhance every statfor about 2150 and i hear a bunch of bull**edit** if i ask for more than 7k. For a while i havent even been selling buffs and i have to rely on my vendor for income. When people ask for buffs now...i just tell them im out of packs because its not worth my time to take off my armor...which is not easy to get on, get my character situated to buff properly (bioclothing, food, droid, etc etc) for 7k. Dont get me wrong...im not flat broke because i sell rare items alot in games, but i just dont find doctor to be very profitable on wanderhome.any of your thoughts or *solutions* would be helpful and appreciatedScarMaster Doctor4443 HS0010 Fencer
Charge what you feel is comfortable for the time, effort and resources you put into the buff...
Heck, charge for wound healing.. it costs you money to do that..
As for not charging groups you are with.. sure you may share on mission payouts.. but -they- aren't putting money up front to do the missions... you are... my doc alt will buff guildmates for free.. thats it.. they get it because we help each other out and I wouldn't like to charge the guy who gave me a cutrate harvester for buffs..
But general populace or random group? charge them... if you are uncomfortable charging them full rates at LEAST make sure you have them cover your CPU costs of the resources that went into the pack. there is no reason you should have to go hunting and lose money in the bargain..
Heck, with Rangers of Bria hunt a doctor along is a big benefit... we make a deal about it and make sure all the hunters know to keep an eye on the doc(s) and make sure THEY stay alive.. simply due to the state heals, damage heals and rez's we might end up needing...
usually we dont NEED those things, but having insurance is worth enough that when I run the hunt I try to tip the "official" doctor extra money at the end to cover his costs...
Altruism is nice.. but if you aren't having fun change how you do things.. charge them...
On the dangerous planets charge them MORE... (thats the price of convenience)..
I buff for 10k no matter what on the starter planets. My price is 12 -13k on the advanced planets and this is simple economics they are going to pay more than 3k to get back to Civilization(probably Coronet) and it'll take them travel time also.
Bottom line no one is forcing them to pay and I have had people ask me why I'm charging more I'll be honest and tell them and usually they say "Oh I hadn't thought about that". Then 90% of them pay me.
I have had people tell me I'm being greedy but I see it as a fair price for PREMIUM service
I have been surprised when people talk about 2k being a good buff, when I thought a master doctor should not charge for anything LESS than 2k buffs. That should be the standard we hold up for ourselves, and then charge accordingly.
I am hoping to reach the day when I can charge 1cr/statpoint as was mentioned by someone earlier.
Bottom line: charge what you think its worth, and people will pay for it. Raise the average price on your server by giving great service, good buffs, and being friendly. Then, when the average price goes up on the server, make even better buffs, and change a bit more.
Also, I dont think MDs should be charging more for an advanced planet. Be consistant and available to your customers, and you will have people come across the galaxy to buy your services - as happens to be on occasion.

I look at it this way.. if I want to spend the time to go down the street to the grocery store and buy some milk and eggs I expect to pay normal prices.. if I want to go next door to the convenience store (Circle K, 7-11, etc) I expect to pay MORE for the speed, convenience and location... so I expect to pay more on higher grade planets than on the core planets.. price of convenience to me has to be figured in
i usually have to pay between 80-120 cpu for my meat on wanderhome. honestly, if it wasnt for the prices of the meat (because i dont have harvest skills because i MUST be a fighter also, lol w/ mdoc) buffs wouldnt cost me that much. And i only buy it if is 875 OQ or higher. I guess i will start charging 10k lol, or try to.
One more question...i have a vendor and i selling enhance packs, level 90 or below buff for around 2005 each stat, and master doc level buff around 2150-2200. What are some decent prices to ask of these, i currently have them listed for 13k per pack. Is that too much because they are NOT selling LOL

I sell all my packs at roughly 16,500; or100k a set.
900+ power = 100k a set
860+ power = 100k a set
850 power / 90 med use = 100k a set
I can't keep them in stock *sigh*
Depends on your server economy.
to be honest, 10k is like 0.10k, for me anyway. It wouldn't bother me, if buffs went up to 20k, not that I'm trying to imply anything here.
I'm the combat type, ok, i have some med skills to heal myself, and terrain neg, but i couldn't be arsed to craft, entertain,or heal as a living (it's just not MY thing). Anyway, a good buff runs for 10k on farstar. With a good buff, I do what others do, group solo. Those 10k are back in my pocket in under 10min, plus all that goooood xp. From my point of view, I don't know what anyone is complaining about if they feel buffs are too expensive.
It's asad thing, but I couldn't imagine going out there unbuffed anymore. I'm a buff junkie now. As well as groups. I group with friends, and do have fun, but when on the grind i'd rather solo. Human nature is starting to shine through, but now I'm ranbling on....

On Radiant, I have seen docs charging 5k for a set of buffs. I want to choke them. The going rate has been 6k for a long time, but even my crappy buffs are 2.1k - 2.4k, and my latest set of packs I made are ALL 2.3k - 2.4k and 3+hrs duration. I charge 9k a set, and I get a line of people no matter where I go to buff. Nobody complains about the price. If they did, they can go to someone else. No refunds, no discounts for non-Syndicate guild members. During busy times, I have been buffing within 20m of a doc charging 6k, and we both had a line in front of us. I am really hoping that 9k becomes a standard, as prices for making buffs have risen recently...
As you can see, every galaxy is different, has different standards, and has a different economy. I'm also a doctor on Radiant and charge 7k for 2.0k buffs and 8k for 2.2k.But if I tried going above 10k people would think I was nuts *shrug*. Every galaxy is unique.

im on farstar and imo10k is not generally the norm altho i really hope it does become 10k,have you not seen the threads about it on the farstar forum, go back afew pages if not.. the average price of a good buff is 6 to 8k, i put my prices upto 10k ages agowhile most were happy to pay it i also got called alot of things along the lines of - being greedy, im ripping people off, my buffs are crap (over 2.2k each stats not using bovilo with aduration 2h30min) and much more thats not really repeatable and its those few whohave made me stop buffing the public now as i just cant be bothered with the insults from the few mindless idiots out there, i honestly think 10k is to cheap, the amount of time it takes me to hervest all my own stuff then craft everything and get polly cake and port to make my packs the best they can be and with all the avain etci waist trying to acheve the best packs i can, any type of fail and i start a fresh 1 then 10k is a minimum.
an example of people, last night on dantoonie someone asked me for a buff.. i was in a good mood and was willing to buff them they said how much so i just told them to make me an offer they said "well the normal priceis 5k but seeing as you want more i'll pay 7k" well i nearly fell off my swoop i laughed so much, i told them that the normal price in coronet would be between 6 and 8k so i dont know where he got 5k form.. he cintinued to tell me that he has never paid more than 5k and would not, so i told him to msg the doc he usually gets a buff from then as i would not be buffing him for 5k, it would cost him a minimum of 10k, he never did get back to me.
my actual respponce to this thread was in 1 of the double posts that were made as i did not see this one ![]()

Hi I have a charcter called DrNo on flurry.
I agree with what everyone has said here so far. I know how to craft
and making good buff packs is very hard indeed.
I charge 10k buff , usualy about 2250 ish or better. But to be honest with all the hastle to make the packs I am thinking of charging 12k.
Just hope everyone follows so I dont look like Im trying to rip people off (which I am not, look at the price of other rare crafted items.)
