Thread: DEVS Please convert current meds to comparable enhancers!

Devs - please consider converting our current high level meds to the comparable enhancers rather than Stims.

In the current respec, it appears that all of the high level doctor and combat meds are being converted into mediocre stimpacks. Enhance Medpack Ds are being converted to 450 eff Stimpack Ds regardless of strength. AviStetto has stated, "We decided to convert these invalid items to something that is useful in the new system, instant stimpacks." Stimpacks are much lower, much less costly meds than the current enhance medpacks. We would like you to consider converting these to comparable meds, not just useful ones.

The converted meds should be representative of their current relative strength and number of charges. You have stated that the best weapons on the server before conversion will be the best weapons on the server post-conversion. Similarly, the best Janta Enhance Medpacks or the best Venom Poisons should still be the best Enhancerspost-conversion.

Please consider converting Enhance Medpack Ds to Nutrient or Endorphin Injection Enhancers. Similarly, convert combat med Poison and Disease to Neurotoxin Enhancers.

Fellow doctors and CMs, please post your comments to this suggestion below. Thanks!

These changes would be equivalent conversions, IMO:

(1) Convert current Health, Constituion and Strength Enhance Medpack Ds to Nutrient Injection Enhancers with the same power and charges. Convert Action, Quickness and Stamina Enhance Medpack Ds to Endorphin Injection Enhancers with the same power and charges.

Justification - on a cost per charge basis, the old and new meds are comparable, with the old meds costing slightly more (although in the conversion they lose duration). Furthermore, the strength range of the current enhance medpacks is comparable to that of the new enhancers (950 is only obtainable with near perfect resources).

(2) Convert current Poisons to Neurotoxin Enhancers with 3x the power. Convert current Area Poisons to Neurotoxin Enhancers with 4x the power. Convert Disease and Area Disease to Deuterium Toss Enhancers 9x power. Cut the number of charges in half.

Justification - The cost of the new enhancers are approximately 2x the cost of the old poison and disease packs, thus the suggestion to half the charges.

The CM meds made with near perfect components and resources will give approximatelythe following effectiveness:

Poison C - 350 max, Area Poison C - 250 max, Disease C - 120 max, Area Disease 110 max

The multipliers I suggested are to bring these in line with a 1000 point scale.

Convert buffpacks to stims with the same power and charges? What's the point of the CU then?

Enhancers are just that, a slight boost to our innate abilities, not 3 times more powerful... you've been around your 3k buffpacks for too long methinks.

I'm not sure, I think there's a case for converting buff packs into enhancers, considering the value of the resourses that went into them. An enhance health D with 20 charges could become a 20 charge nutrient enhancer, the effectiveness could be converted from the current power with 900+ packs being somewhere near the top of the top of the experimental range. There' be no need for crazy power conversions, just a like for like exchange. If nothing else it'll alleviate the glut of stim Ds we're going to have.

If you could do a conversion of these packs into useful enhancers but keep them within the current stat boundaries then that's fine.

That's the idea. The CU enhancers seem to go at least 1000 effectiveness. That scale is similar to our current buffpacks (approx 950-960 max with perfect resources), so it makes sense to do a direct conversion in this case.

But the enhancers are made with completely different resources, it would create an imbalance in the way that, say, a particular resource for an enhancer is not available or has never spawned with good stats on a server.

Then the BE's can not craft anything like the Doc converted packs.

I think we just have to take a hit on this one.

Thats where the charges come into play - buffs converted to enhancers will eventually run out.

On a sidenote, the enhancers matta suggested as a conversion target are using avian meat and reactive gas as the primary resources. So no change compared to current buffs.

Hmm, I can't see any problem with changing them in that regard then, it's just the ones that take different resources that I wouldn't want to see stims converted too.

It would detract slightly from the new role of BE's if we all had our stocks converted to everything we might need.

It would also slightly detract from being nice towards SOE if they nerfed current docs into oblivion by making the new meds to costly for their benefit, devalueing current doc resources stashes that a lot of effort went into, and converting current great items to sub-par items.

I completely agree with Matta on this point. It is an insult for 930 buff packs to be converted to stims. Please have some consideation for those of us who have been docs for a long time in the game (18 months here). There is nothing wrong with letting us have the new enhancers to replace our valuable buff packs that we have worked hard to create, including collecting vast amounts of resources. Matta has a great idea and I fervently hope the devs listen.

Dont get me wrong, I've got crates of great meds too, CM and Doc ones... I'm not too bothered if they all go poof though, seeing as 1 set of enhancers is gonna last me about a month with the amount of charges they have on them.

I understand that most other players if not all will feel that they've lost out if their lovingly crafted packs become useless though.

As a CM that will be dropping CM when the respec comes this new change will be good for me. At least I will be able to use the stims.

It is rather disappointing that they would not convert buffs to enhancers and such though. I agree that they should convert buffs/poisons/etc into comparable items in the new system.
