Thread: A question regarding wound healing.
- My answer is about20 sec. Most folks have 110 wounds and it takes two shots to fully heal them. The most woundedI have seen is about 250 which took a bit over a minute.
2. Is this really a big deal to you?
- My answer would be NO. Yes it is rather low but frankly I only heal wounds when I got nothing else going on so spending a minute orat the most two minutes to heal someone is not a big deal. It seems that dieing is about the only way to get any real wounds so not that many folks have large numbers.
3. If this is a big deal what would you suggest the power/timer become?
- My answer would be 150 power and 15 sec timer. I would pick 150 because then you could heal a clone in one shot. The 15 sec would just make it consistant with our other longer heals.
Since my personal view seems to not jive with what I have been reading I wanted to take a pulse of the Doc community to make sure I have your views correct before I make a post in the Corr forum.
Please keep this thread focused on only wound healing. I will make other posts for other skills.
I cloned 2x durring Pvp and hit the wrong selection both times so had 250 wounds. well it took a doc about 2 min to heal me up. back pre CU I could heal myself in 2 shots with the wound pack b's I made and my medic skills.
Now you need a doc, docs are becomming very rare (along with everything else) I am already hearing stories of people sitting in the med centers for hours again healing their wounds.
It is a time sink issue here. 2 min to heal 1 player, now figure a doc actually registers and gets a line up cause it is so hard to find one now, you could easily be looking at 30 min worth of wound healing plus recharge time, plus people wanting the buffs (as weak as they are). you could be looking at the buff bot type thing for wound healing being forced.
Yes, wound healing is too low - it takes about 20 to 30 seconds to heal from one clone incident or space death, people who died in space multiple times are out of luck. It wouldnt hurt the game at all if docs could cure around 200 wounds per shot, since wounds are not a combat dominating hinderance.
Weapons and even CMs dont cause too many wounds in a fight, hence the current ability is enough to counter that, but as already mentioned, after-combat wound healing _is_ a time sink with no real reason behind it.
Is it worth to start discussing?
Only to give a little bait for other things - kinda like if we get higher-powered heals or buff power increasing from medic 4000 at 5% to master doc at 15%, and enhancers adding on top of that for up to 25%, we could live with the low wound healing. But I doubt you can do such a little bazaar trade with the devs.
2. Really, I would consider this a low priority to fix. There are many other things about the Doc profession that need to be fixed before I start caring about the power in wound heals. I'm way more concerned about getting those 10% buffs to at least the promised 30% and to get the buff times up higher. This is simply ridiculous right now.
3. I would say a fair suggestion for wound heals would be 150 power @ 10 seconds or 300 power at 20 seconds.

You go to a doctor and he gives you a shot and you are completely healed over the next few minutes or so, depending on your number of wounds. I think that's reasonable and justifiable.
Also, I wish doctors would get some sort of equippable device to justify the magic healing, some sort of device that can diagnose and heal.
Is there a trick to get heals more powerful? I am master doc/swordsman and at times I can heal around 40 points of wound damage with each heal and at other times its as low as 18 points of wound damage per heal.
It is underpowered and it leaves me little incentive to heal ppl when it takes as long as it does and for no xp. I was at a shuttleport about to go on a hunt with my group so I could actually get xp and some poor guy came up with several hundered points of wound damage and I was praying he wouldn't ask me to heal him because I knew if he did I would either have to choose to sit with him 5 minutes and miss out on part of the hunt or tell him no. I loved that pre-CUI had a valuable service to provide, now the wound healing is so slow I dont want to do it and the buffs are so underpowered I cant even give them away.
