Thread: Setting Pharmacutical Naming Standards
My stimpacks are named
Stim-B (330)
if healing power is 330.
My stimpack - C are called
Stim-C (450/Pharm3)
or
Stim-C (450/Pharm4)
To indicate which skill level you need to use with no skill enhancers.
I made it like this so you could see the healing effect while the item is in the inventory with the need to hover the cursor above it.
Hmm, In the guild I am in, we typically do sothing like:
25c350StimC or 30c90HealthB
Where it goes, charge, power, type of kit. It lets most folks scan them quickly.

I don't sell too many of my meds, but I do rename them to organize my inventory. Here is an example of how my inventorytypically looks:
- Enhance(Action)-B
- Enhance(Health)-A
- Stimpack A
- Stimpack C
- Stimpack D
- Wound(Action)-A
- Wound(Action)-B
- Wound(Constitution)-B
- Wound(Health)-B
If I started crafting to sell, I would probably append a metric which hadeffectiveness and skill level in a E/S format. So, for example:
- Stimpack A 75/05
- Wound(Health)-B 200/05
In my opinion, thedefault naming conventions should be changed a bit.If there are no plans to introducemedium and large Stimpacks why identify all of them as small? Placing "Med" in front of everything might work but could make some of the names too long to fit in the inventory list view (which I tend to keep open and docked on the right side of my screen):
- Med Enhance(Action)-B
- Med Enhance(Health)-A
- Med Stimpack A
- Med Stimpack C
- Med Stimpack D
- Med Wound(Action)-A
- Med Wound(Action)-B
- Med Wound(Constitution)-B
- Med Wound(Health)-B
Archon, I like your idea. This should help a lot of people who buy their wares from the market or merchants. Currently, I get a lot of tells from people asking me what stims they can/should use. That might help me in a long term.

well to make selling and sorting easy for me i just do the following:
Stim - B (220/26)
simple and easy to look at and with a quck glance you can tell the pertinent info real quick while in the inventory
I actually tried inspireing this in another forum.
So far I've been using the following standard:
- MedType:X:Y/Z [Brand-name]
where X=the med level (A, B, C, D etc)
and Y/Z = Healing-Power/Charges
So you'd see thnings from me like:
- StimB:250/25
- Wound-Health:B:140/19
etc
I know some people brand their meds (I'm starting to do this now too) so you mid see somthing like:
- StimB:250/25 [Joe's Drugs]
De_Mon,
I just reread your post, andI do think that med use should have a place in the standard (if it's been altered). Also with the bazaar now showing charges (it didnt before) I will probably drop charges from my naming convention.
Personally I think we can just remove the "small" from the stimpack name entirely and let the healing power speak for itself.
As for med use in stims. I really like the idea of 1-4, however it definitely needs to be prefixed with "MedUse:" or something to ensure it's not judged as some other measure of quality.
Perhaps a naming standard such as:
- StimC:411 (MedUse:3!) [Joes Drugs]
- StimB:250 [Joes Drugs]
- Wound Health:B:140 [Joes Drugs]
- Enhance Health:C:300(MedUse:70!) [Joes Drugs]
- etc
(note: I'm making these numbers up...they are just ballpark figures :smileywink![]()
I think this would get all the info in there in a nice compact format and allow for logical sorting in the bazaar.
I'm very glad to see that others are interested in this. We all benefit by a more orded bazaar listing.
if you could agree on a std number format to define the attributes of a med that would get the best part of med naming confusion out of the way.
i personally hate having long names in my stims/meds so its easier to sort and glance at in my inventory.
how bout naming itPUC(hehe) orCPU or PCU
C = charges
P = power
U = med use
example : Stim 220 power / 26 charges / 5 med use
PCU format = (220/26/5)
PUC format = (220/5/25)
CPU format = (25/220/5)
just a different view to throw around
I think no matter how good the idea is (which it's very good), people will still use their own naming standards.
Not all medicines are geared toward people who care about medicine use, so I see that as an optional stat at best.
Power and charges however, I agree and I personally have been using something similar to a few of you:
Stim-B (PPP/CC)
Wound(Health)-B (PPP/CC)
I think as long as the important information is easily conveyed, then it doesn't matter how it's presented. Being sure toshow power and charges is always good, and if you feel that required medicine use is important to your potential clients, then it would be good to list that in some form also.
GPF.
I agree med use is optional at best.
I'd really just like to make sure that wound packs start the same way (so that all wounds packs are together).

I like this idea... The Bazaar however now shows charges in the list. Is it still valuable to keep charges in the med name?
Also I think it might be better to put med-use notation (when used at all) in a format of what skill is required to use it (solely because it give a smaller number of defined values). The Med Use rating would only need to be added to the name of course if it has been altered such that it can now be used by someone who before might not have been able to.
perhaps we could drop charges but tweak usage:
example : Stim C400 power /33 charges /30 med use
P(U) format = 400 (pharm3)
So the name would be:
- StimC 400 (pharm3)
- StimC 400 (pharm3) [Joes Drugs]
And the bazaar would list them as:
- StimC 400
pharm3) 33 - StimC 400
pharm3) [Joes Drugs] 33
I dunno... just an idea... and keep them coming people! We'll get a good standard yet!
arhg ... the stupid smilie faces ... should be....

This is my naming convention for stims is posted in this thread:
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Corbantis&message.id=17160
I'll repost it here for your convenience.
STIMPACK NAMING CONVENTION
Stim[type].[initials].U[uses].H[healing].M[medecine use] (note that each field is separated by a period)
[type] A, B, C,D, or Efor the type of stim pack
[initials] This is a string to mark your products.Use the crafters initials.
[uses] This is the number of charges on an individual Stim Pack in the crate.
[healing] This is the rated healing on the Stim Pack
[medecine use] This is the medicine use requirement of the stim pack.
example of naming convention: I, Lyandra Wylde, make a stimpack B that is 22 uses, 210 healing and 5 medecine use. Such a stim pack would be named:
StimB.LW.U22.H210.M5
