Thread: Idea: Master Doctor's Belt
This concept is inspired by the RIS quest and the technical implementation of Mandalorian Armor.
With Mandalorian Armor we saw how it was possible to add "certification" for wearables and tie it to a specific skill box.
The motive behind this concept is to make it more rewarding to be a Master Doctor and to acknowledge and improve the doctor profession.
As many people know doctors take a heavy strain on their inventory to fulfill their proffession.
(A shot at documentating this fact can be found in the following post)
I propose a "Master Doctor's Belt" a item that is only equipable to a Master Doctor.
The "Master Doctor's Belt" will act as a container and hold up to 10 items.
It will only hold items of the "Misc-Pharmaceutical" category though.
The item should be obtainable from a quest/npc - not looted.
Another implementation could also be a schematic (again not obtained as loot) requiring specific doctors ressources.
This would benefit tailors as well as doctors.
Always nice to hear that someone like your idea, but whats even better is if they say what they like about it and how it could be better.

Shot at documentating Doctors inventory:
Crafters... some will argue that if doctors need more inventory space then crafters certainly do as well...
I will not argue against this, but just say that doctors and crafters arent quite comparable.
I will... crafters make items and immediately put them on their vendors. Active Doctors (not med wholesalers) need to bring their wares with them, as their crafts are just tools so they can practice what isultimately a service profession rather than a crafting profession. We have all the headaches of a crafting profession (minus 75% of the crafting grind, thank god), and all of the drawbacks of a service profession.
I think we don't need a master doctor's belt... just use a droid. I'd much rather have other things, like crafting clothes that wookiees can use, over 10 more storage slots.
Also, you really don't need to carry around crates of everything at once.If you're out PvE'ing, you don't really need a crate of anything, except perhaps bivoli (since it has so few charges per item). If you're buffing, then carry crates of buffs but leave the other crates in your safety deposit box or house. So you don't really need to carry crates of things around, so divide your total by two, to about 35. Add in some resources and crate of Advanced Components and you're up to maybe 55. And you haven't even filled up your personal inventory, let alone your backpack.

We Docs do not need any special storage percs...try being a DE.
You want more storage? Then go to my vendor and by my cheap 2500 credit storage droids.
You can add 50 more items to your carrying capacity with 5 droids with 10 item storage.
Hear Hear. Doctors don't need any more space... and a Doctor's Belt shouldn't be to hold more space... should be something cooler like "adds +25 to bleeding resist, disease resist, and fire resist". Now THAT would rock!
Weara backpack, 5 droids, a bank account and 10 factories. Wow you can have
60 + 50 + 50 + 100 + 1000. Um.. ALOT of space!
and seriously who uses that many wound packs and needs crates of em? IF you do, wow tell me whatcha do b/c I don't use any.
You're not on my server... but point taken

There's also a balance issue.
Everyone hasa limit of max. 5droids.
The number of droids is finite, it doesnt change the fact that a doctor has a need for more inventory space than your average combat character.

By presenting this idea I wanted to get doctors a cool little perk and an incentive for staying at master.

The reason for me choosing "storage" was that was what i would personally like to see and something that wouldnt need to be balanced in regard to other professions.
So a good question would be:
What would be a cool/reasonable perk for a doctor to gain from a special item obtainable and usable only for master doctors?
Edit: Stupid ENTER button

If you're carrying too much, then you should start considering carrying items suited to a particular mission or scenario.
BTW--I have never had an inventory problem in this regard. I have had unrelated inventory problems, but not related to being able to carry everything I need to be a doctor.
You raise a valid point... this is what I would like to carry around, but it isnt a list of things i DO carry around.
I'd like to carry around crates of woundpacks, but in reality I don't. With extra space i might.
Id like to have everything at hand, thats what the list was made to reflect.
Other things though... "Flame Cure (crates)" just to name one thing is a bit over the top, and im afraid it might have made it to the list because subconsiouly it would count as another item.
Id like to be a walking doctor, hardly ever having to worry about restocking my inventory.
But the question is... is that where the balance should be... or should that cost me that extra inventory?
In addition to beeing selfish about my own lack of inventory, I was hoping by limiting the inventory to "misc-pharmaceutical" that more doctors would carry around woundpacks and cure disease kits".
I know many PvE docs, soloists, buffers that dont carry these around.
By giving handing them the capability to carry these items around I was hoping you could "encourage" them to carry these packs around and enabling them to service other people.
But thats just a minor point... main point in this was to make something that would reward current Master Doctors and alleviate some of their problems.
