this is just ridiculous. if the group accidentally aggros 10 pikets i have to wait till the group members get knocked unconcious or die. if i heal even one of them i will have 10 pikets on me. i can run away, but apparently the invisible pikets will still follow me and kill me.

I agree totally, it's frustrating to have to let your team get hammered to incap or death before you can help. If you heal in a situation like that its suicide.

I honestly don't mind many of the changes the CU brought Docs. I'm a Master Doc/ Master Pistoleer and I have really enjoyed the game since the CU. People seem to be much more appreciative of my heals, etc. (I was never one to sell buffs anyway. I just buffed myself and my friends). I like being the one who comes to the rescue of my group. I absolutely love that role and the CU has brought that back (yes, it existed when the game first started, before we all had Uber Buffs... I've been playing since the original beta).

This being said, I'm VERY disappointed with the amount of aggro I receive now while in the group hunts. I had the misfortune of having 6 Voritors make my acquaintance on Dant last night. I didn't last long. LOL

Something really needs to be done. I cannot provide the combat support that the devs claimed Docs should provide. The current aggro system makes me avoid healing others when it's needed most. That's the opposite of the way it's supposed to work (as I understand it). Not only that, but after just 1 night of hunting, my armor decayed a ton... even with insurance.

Ithink I mightactuallydo my first SP spam... "Master Doc! Will join hunting party for ARMOR!"

Oh, one other thing. This is my first post ever, so that should tell you how strongly I feel. (Yes, Devs... please listen)

Someone told me that it depends on you damage cabability, wheter you get agroed.

However that is not cool, being a Rifleman/Doctor combo, since you are designated Damage dealer... You get agroed ALL the time.

Tried the following scenario. Got my TKA buddy to run into a mob, starting whacking them all.. They agroed him.

Then i placed myself at max range for a rifleman. Turned Auto combat off (No check icon on any combat). And fired my lowest damage dealing shot. They all agroed me.

Retried the step, this time standing at max range with a Pistoleer. He got agrooe since he initiated the combat. Then i gave him a heal. and got agrooed.

"Could you please repeat that? You want a what? A Buff? Yes i am a Master Doctor, but you want me to apply a buff, are you sure?" - Serf being surprised that someone wanted a buff.
"Now follow my directions: Follow me, then..... hey what are you doing stop, stop *UGLY BLASTER SOUND* dammit i told you to follow me, not to run into that room with that large turret" - Serf to eager guildmate in the warren.
"Why are you looking at me?, im not here, really im not, this rifle is just a fake, i promise" - Serf to angry Ancient Krayt Dragon.
"Muhahaha im indestructable" *BOOM* - Serf realising that his trainer TIE might not be able to take on tier 2 enemies.

As a TKM/Master Doc i get very little aggro so it leads me to beleve its the combat profession that makes the difference not the fact your a doc, although i have been in some good groups so far and we have managed to not to aggro more than 2-3 mobs at a time.

Lifeisdeath what combat profession do you have?

I supported the old system, but it didn't help. I now support working with the devs to try and make the new game something we'll enjoy.

As a Master Doc / Master Sumggler I get loads of aggro when healing my groupies, even if I'm not using any of my smuggler skills to inflict damage.

Actually this works to my advantage as a Doctor/TKM. I am the designated tank, I stand there and get beat on and heal myself while everyone else stands back and takes the mobs down.

What CL does a TKM/DOC have? I have a CL58 pistoleer/doc and using bactashot once will pull enemies I'm not even fighting to attack me.

Uhmm, I think the heal hate is not too bad. Players still need to learn their roles, sadly until this happens docs are the most affected.

First, you shouldn't be figthing 10 monsters at a time. I would say max 5 and have 2 paralyzed if you want to survive. And that's the beauty of the new system, people need to be on their toes. The tank should be trying hard to keep hate, the crowd controllers should be on their toes to keep the extra mobs inmobilized, and the healers should be careful when to heal. Healing right after the tank engages in combat will give you instant hate. So wait a little bit until he gains agro to heal,it's all about strategy. If you have more than one mob, and you heal your tank and he has not used taunt on them, then yes they will come to you. So he needs to make sure to have hate of all the mobs the group is figthing.

The only heal that I think should be tweaked a little bit is the heal over time, it creates way too much hate for the damage it heals.

Edit: Just re-read and you said accidentally, if it's an accidental pull, then yes I guess you are supposed to die heh. As it was not a controlled situation.

I have a Master Doc / TKM (CL80) template which works very good. As i am the tank and as long as we only do 1 by 1 mobs, i even dont have to heal others as my taunt usualy holds the agro on me - and with the innate armour combined with Center of Being i dont evenhave to heal me that much.

With my Master Doc / Master Pistoleer (CL80)template its difficult, especially if the group has no tanker and attacks more then one target at once. After some heals i am the main target of all the critters the group fights -and i only see my health ticking away. Without the indicator which critter is attacking me (from the animations all seem to be in combat with group members) and the ridiculious striking distance of creatures now (i get melee attacks from 20m out and ranged attacks from 100m+) i am incapped or dead without any chance to react (attack/flee). My refítted compo to padded helmet (which was still at half thecondition - around 15K) was gone within a short hunting session.

so ilike to seethe agro healingadjusted(like often stated before: its ok for NPC mobs to some degree, but creatures shouldnt recognize a healer as a threat)and please reinstall the attacking indicator (pre-CU: contsantly visible HAM-bar of critters attacking you) - and adjust the striking distance of creatures to the correct value.

I think part of the problem is people are still playing the same way they were before the CU. The tanks HAVE to generate a lot of hate with all the mobs. This means AoEattacks and area taunts and a lot of them! As it is now, most tanks aren't playing the part well.

Ideally you want to put an HoT on your tank just before they engage. This buys you a little bit of time for them the generate a lot of hate prior you you casting...err applying the the first heal.

If a Cl80 TKM is pulling less aggro than a Cl58 pistoleer which isn't even firing then something is creating the aggro.

Has anyone tried healing without a weapon equipt? I'll try it tonight.

I think that someone was mistaken. I have a Doc/Squad Leader which means I have no combat ability and I get hammered every time I heal and I end up running around in circles trying to lose agro and healing myself the whole time. They have to fix this.
