Plus doctors get resistance buffs, which is very needed.... but SOE gave the wrong proffession area cures, CM will now be non existent and u will have to rely on yet another "alternate" toon that SOE seems to make upon everyone if u want to complete the DWB or Corvette.

The ability to cure poison/disease, whether singly, area, ranged, whatever, rests solely with Doctors. The ability to cure poison/disease far outweighs the ability to do something to several at once.
Letting doctors do something they could do before singly now also do as an area affect is not as consequential as letting CM's break into Doctor's turf by getting their own cures.
CM's aren't defined by their area heals, they're defined by their poisons and diseases; the area heals are a side note.
The fact that CM's can't cure is a design decision, and a good one that helps define the class from doctors. The lack of an area of effect ability for doctors was an oversight which has now been corrected.
I agree, doctors shouldn't have disease resist, CMs should have that capability. Having Area heal and buff resist to poison and disease is redundant.

I fully agree with everything the original poster said.
It would make far more since for area heals to be give to CM. They should come out somewhat less strong than point blank heals, kinda like area stims vs standard stims.
Evena novice medic can do point blank heals, and with Stim B's these days you hardly need more than that to keep your health/action from dropping.
Doctorscan Resuscitate, Enhance stats and Cure States (dizzy, diseased, on fire, etc.). That's what defines them. Resuscitating and Cure States are the onlyunique skills we have. If we do our job, we don't need to resuscitate
. That leaves Cure States, and that's what makes Doctors the best healers, just like applying poisons and area healing makes CM's the best hybrid Combat/Healer class. To allow Combat Medics to Cure States (by giving them area cures)would make CM's superior to doctors in every way except buffing and crafting, which are the two most boring parts about being a Doctor.
Lots of classes have area effect abilities.Almost everycombat class can hit multiple targets at once, dancers can entertain many players at once, commandos have awesome area flame DOT's; giving an area ability to doctors doesn't hurt CM's as much as giving Cure States abilities to CM's would hurt doctors.
