Thread: Enchancement D's. New official word or a screw up from a csr?

Has there been any update on the retro grade bug that hit? I received a response from a CSR that I put in before i came and read it was a bug. They finally responded to it saying it was a Game Balanace issue.

CSRNathanT is the one that responded to it.

And a quote.

"Greetings, this is CSRNathanT. I have received your ticket regarding medical buffs. In the recent patch, the medical use requirement for buffs was increased to facilitate game balance. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you and thank you for your patience in dealing with this matter.

CSRNathanT"

So it begs the question. Did they actually do this on purpose and wanna down play it. Or do their own CSR's not even know about the new critical bugs?

Read the "Fixed Issues" post that is floated by Zarlor. Issue #1.

I don't see it as a problem. I see it actually adding incentive to master doc. The way it is now a master doc's buff will not only be stronger b/c he's a master doc, but also b/c they wouldn't need to waste experimentation points on lowering the med use. It's not like they made non-masters unable to use buffs. They will just have to use slightly weaker ones.

Yes it is an issue dont be so greedy.

And you get the Health and Action in 4 4 4 3 not master. It makes no sense that you cant use it.

thats not the same issue. This issue just popped up at the last patch. The one with crates and them reverting to 92+ skill when extracted. Totally seperate issue

I was under the impression that the changes made that effected this are causing your problem as well. If it isn't I'd say oh well because it doesn't effect me (not meant to be rude).

I had dropped the response thread since it had been up for a while and was constantly coming back tothe first page anyways, so I thought I would leave room for the voting threads. I guess not useful enough, so I floated it back up again.

My main point is that yes it is a bug but the CSR's need to be more informed. The one I got think its a new balance issue and it is not. It is a bug that the coding introduced.

SOE needs to make their employee's more aware of whats going on. It not only wastes our time but theirs as well, and all wasted time equals is wasted money.

The issue isn't whether or not is was good for doctors. The biggest issue I see is the devs don't seem to believe there is even a problem with not putting this in the patch notes. One note from the devs saying this is the currect operation would be expected. But instead we have to guess and for a few weeks wait it out to see if it is a bug or not.

This is very unacceptable, and if they have told Zarlor the reason for it I would really like to know why the devs feel the reason shoudln't be released to the public. I know patches are big, but a policy of each programming putting a line of code into a word doc each time they change something isn't much to ask. It might have been in there, but they it was obviously tested by someone that didn't have a clue on how it worked before.

I misread the initial thread and thought you were talking about the increased med use on initial combines now. I'm not being greedy either, just stating my view. I agree that the retro 'bug' is an issue and should be corrected.

Yes you can use the health and action buffs at 4,4,4,3 just experiment the med us down to 90.

I have a few thoughts on this.

I think this was clearly an attempt to make Master Doctor more desirable and an attempt to keep "dabblers" out of the doctor profession. This is being done in the same way they are trying to do to creature handlers at the moment too. However there is one key difference between doctors and creature handlers. That is that creature handlers could be as powerful as a master by only filling out two tiers of their profession.

Of course you can do buffs with one tier and res with a second tier but then you have to rely on someone to create the packs for you. So essentially I guess you can be as powerful as a master doctor as long as you have a master doctor supplying you. I personally never saw anything wrong with that, as it makes a nice market for me to fill.

I think doctors as a rule need to rethink their thoughts on this, I have seen way too many doctors saying that they need to have something at Master Doc that differentiates them from everyone else. I have to ask why? I am a master combat medic as well, CM do not have anything at Master that differentiates them from the rest of the CM population. The ability to make C poisons and diseases is nice, but they can be used by a tier threeCM without any ease of use adjustment.

I have to say again, a profession is not defined by the power you recieve at Master status. The profession is a cumulation of everything in that skill tree. THAT is what defines our profession. If I can make the health and action wound packs at a tier four skill level, then I should be able to USE them at a level four level. NOT having to wait until Master to be the most effective with them.

My opinion of course.

Just because doctors can craft Enhance D's prior to master doctor isn't an argument that supports unnerfing this change. You can craft and use Enhance D's prior to master doctor. It just depends on how much you are willing to experiment into lowering the medicine use requirements. Anyways, I just ran a sixpack factory run of enhance D's this week, and for each one, it only requires a single experimentation point into lowering use requirements to get it below 90, which maybe lowered the power of the enhance pack by 30-40. In daily use, with the huge variance in buffs, that's not noticeable.

I do think this change was planned. It's one of the 'stupid' silent nerfs. I never did understand the logic behind silent nerfs. If they added the change to the patch notes and made it official, then sure, people will complain, but at least we'd understand and will eventually cope. With silent nerfs, we are now enduring the limbo of not being sure and I think this creates far more ill-will and negative customer reactions.
