Just throwin a heads-up out to all the poor docs out there still selling buffs at 5k-6k a round...with death being as griefing as it is now (with item decay) I think we should all really considering raising the standard price for such. I still stick to a credits-per-point system and make a killing off of it. Just trying to spread the thought.

Buffs are over-priced at 6k, and the last thing I want to see is raising it. I have been charging 4k on Bria and I see no reason to change that.

Overpriced my arse. These things are way too much of a pain to make. Plus with people out there running 40k missions on dantooine, 25k per round (i charge 3 creds per point raised, and at 1k-2.8k points typically per stat, 25k is around the average) is hardly too little for these people to be paying. Heck when I use them myself I make quite a lot of dough in the 2 hours they last. It's not all about how much resources it takes to make the product. It's about what the potential of the product is. And now with item decay, demand definitely should be upped for good buffs. All the more reason to raise prices. Your loss if you don't do it that way... even if I get less customers, I'm still using less buffs and making more credits in the process.

I charge a flat rate on buffs, I either have D's, or B's, so that newbs can affod them too. 1K per stat on the D's, unless grouped, in which case you get 50% off. B's are half price, 500 a stat, and also get a 50% discount for group members (like on a hunting trip or something, and only if I am actually going). PA members, and friends, free for all my services.

meh, but I don't charge for just healing people, or wounds. I take tips, but I know some Doc's who only take pre-payment on healing

you guys are charging 5k per stat? or 5 k for all 6. 1k per stat seems to be the average on eclipse.

Yesterday I went to Dantooine to make some money buffing, before I even announced I would be I had 5 people lined up and then I had one guy give me 75k and 5 of the best MK3 PSGs I have ever seen! I use to charge 5k a set ... yesterday I chose to charge 7k it may go up more yet, I'm not sure.

4k is super lowballing the price on on a Buff. I don;t think some of you guys really sit down and figure the price of these things. Even if we throw out of the equation the actual costs associated to get advanced components on our own with maint and travel costs thrown in, just consider the cost when buying the resources.

I don;t know about on your servers, but anything decent in the way of Doctor resources (especially those used in Advanced components) go for a minimum of 10cpu. (Heck even crappy versions of the resources go for 10cpu.) Avian and Herbivore meat are now selling for a MINIMUM of 30 cpu. Add in factory time and factor in the value of the service (by how much you are saving your client in insurance costs, decay costs and the ability to do more missions at a time with less risk) and 1cr per point buffed is just beginning to reach a fair market value.

PA-supplied resources start flowing to a few selectDocs out there for virtually nothing. Those Docs then turn around charging 4k for a full slate of buffs (probably averaging 1800-2000 points per buff). The folks they buff just go and make a KILLING monetarily and all the Docs out there trying to make a living off of being a Doc get screwed out of the kind of money they need just to get by, because they keep getting further and further undercut. Then those same PA-supplied Docs come to these forums and wonder why something like Sampling and Money are even lited as issues for a VAST majority of the Docs out there. It's because they are being undercut by those very same rich Doctors who don;t have any difficulty getting PA-supplied resources. By selling low a lot of Docs out there are just flat killing their fellow healers and they generally don't even realize it.

These things are a LOT more expensive than most of your realize if you take all the factors into consideration.

I'll pay 1k per buff or 5k for all 6 and thats it.

Anything more and I Fiegn Death till safe.

No way those are worth more than 5k a set.

Thats all I ever charged and it was fine. With packs that have 20 uses you easily make 100k a set or 120k for single buffs.

Easiest cash I knew of.

i fail to understand this. i made 150k from being a doctor. hell i thought to myself i have no money but im a master. so heres advice for you all:
1. become an imperial as it WILL help regardless of what people say (ill explain later)

2. get 2/3 storm commandos/at-sts whatever

3. now that you're imperial go to dant imperial outpost and find you usla creature handler/combat prof type.

4. now say to him/her that you and (if imperial) your 3 storm commandos/at-sts will join up so he can get harder missions, and you will go with him/her to heal their pets and keep them alive, you also supply buffs .

5. now you can get upto 40k a mission thats 20k each and if it takes 10 mins to do 2 and then 20 to do 4 thats 120k an hour. that set me up enough to live off the proffession

hope it helps

i charge 5k no matter where im at, in anchorhead or on dath. but ill give guys deals if they want pets enhanced. i will not charge 1k for buffs and give them a free one if it is under 1000. one guy told me that was standard, so i told him that i charge 2k in credits for a 2k buff if thats how he wanted to work it, and he shut up real fast. he better be glad he did, becuse 4of 6 were 2300 plus. sorry about the typin, but i just woke..blah

4k for buffs is a Total joke

I never charge less than 10k and always 15 to 20k on planets like dath lok dant.

Think about it 4 or 5 k for 6 stats ? you need to buff 10 people just to get 40 k ... why not just go run a mission or 2 and save all the time and hastles of making and buffing people

Hmm interesting.. I have been thinking of raising the price of mine for a while.. presently a 5K per set on Wanderhome. I ran a small batch of enhance D's (CON) and they are 991, 13000+ duration. These things cost alot to make.. at least 2500 a pack.. and that's low balling the extimate on resource value. Anyhow I have been seeing alot of people coming back to me and paying me 10K fora seteven though they know the price. I think an increase is in order, thanks for giving me something to think on.

Cheers

very interesting info....I'll take this into account when I hit master doctor and try to decide on a base price to charge the public for buffs.
