Thread: Doctor Issues List for November (Preliminary)

Because of the recent response about the +25 cap for Skill Enhancements the Gameplay issue #17, Skill Enhancement Concerns, will be moving up into the Bugs list at position #11 (bumping #11 and the rest down by 1 spot.) The issue will also be change to reflect the "as intended" fix for the current wording and the following will be how the new issue will read:



(*Added*) As noted below by Dev Response this is “as intended”. The only issue now would be to clarify the situation in the game by modifying he UI on the Skills page to reflect that +25maximum.

One thing i noticed the other day and don't know if it should be on there or not is you can not resussitate in a battlefield.

Hey Zarlor, a little imput from a master doc, (may be a little flamable!)


Balance Issues


1.Medical Surveying
6.Mind Damage Healing for Doctors
14.Pet Healing


I feel (flame on me) that these should be left out of the "balance" list. I feel that pet healing is fine how it is, (all they need is a pet with trick 1/2 and all healed). Mind damage should be left to Entertainers the same way I feel that wound pack should have a min med usage of 20, or move the command up the tree. Leave the HA wounds to the docs/medics. and the M wounds to the entertainers. If (general) med forage (at middle medic) would give us a 1 unit sample of say 4 or 5 organics at a timeon the planet, would be much more helpfull than survey (at least to me). Then at (novice?) Doc maybe allow us to sample 20 units of 3 diferent resouces (until nothing found).

I think most everything else I agree with, or could be very easily be talked into.

3.Resuscitation Timer Issues = I think its good to have a timer.
4.Enhances Dropping on Death = shouldn't they ? Leave them as they are now.

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I've noticed a jump in "critical failures". From my prespective, critical failures are happening two to three times as much as just 3 or 4 weeks ago. Is this a bug or is this a new and wonderfulgift from the Dev Team?

For those interested here is the new order for the broken out listing. It looks like Thunderheart will be asking us to break out our issues into 5 categories; Bugs, Exploits, Gameplay Issues, Balance Issues and Wishlist. Here is how the reorder voting got those issues in their respective lists. It was a small voting (only 44) because I had to cut it short. Hopefully the next voting will be more accurate, but this should be pretty decent.


Feel free to comment on if you think something is on the wrong list (with reasons, of course) or however else you wish to comment. I'll start up discussion threads probably tomorrow with 1 thread for each of these categories (instead of one big thread like we have been doing.) If we are lucky when the Devs do get these lists maybe we may actually get comments on the Top 5 from each list instead of just the Top 5 overall. It appears that it may take some time to get thing reorganized for Thunderheart, though, so please be patient. Hopefully he can help us out in getting some more of these issues addressed than has been the case in the past.

4.Enhances Dropping on Death = Leave it. They die everything wears off. I make alot of money from people think they can solo stuff with a 3k ham bar and action bar. I see no problem with this.


5.Enhances Dropping on Logoff = Well this is something that can be worked since it has a timer on buff stats I hate it when I have to log off for 20 minutes and then have to rebuff I think the timer should continue while your offline.

What you aren't seeing here is the details on the issues (that's in the Issues List, hopefully I'll have the new ones up in those categories above today.) It's not a problem with how to heal pets, but getting XP for healing pet damage. It was nerfed out, had a big uproar about it and lots of folks want to get something out of it (even if not full XP). Q3P0 stated they were looking into and could possibly get a hotfix in after a week or so, but that was almost 2 months ago now. At any rate it's still an issue for some, apparently, although I suspect it's not an issue for anyone who has already mastered (and doesn't need XP.) I gues I should make the heading for that issue more descriptive.


How about Pet Healing XP (or lack thereof)? Do you think that would be more descriptive?

Well a couple of notes to be made on those comments. First off we are talking Mind Damage, not wounds. Mind Wounds are already the Entertainer purview and I believe most Doctors would agree that it is fine there. Second Mind Damage has no already been given to a Medical profession, namely Combat Medics (higher up the tree). Third, that issue (and I did change the heading in my current draft) is no longer just getting Mind Damage Healing into the game, but has now changed to "spreading the love" to get Mind Damage healing over into the Doc line as well. And finally, the Pack Med Usage issue is a part of the Med Use Granularity issue.

So far the Dev response has been quite far removed from that idea. The path he seems to be wanting to follow have a lot to do with making medical forage a lot more more Scout foraging with items that can either be used for small healing gains or possibly can be used in place of regular components. Your suggestion is severely limiting, however, in terms of trying to find all of the very specific inorganics required for our crafting.


Of biggest note, though, is that this particular issue is sitting up there as a #1 issue (and has been for the past 3 pollings now) because over a 2/3rds majority of all the Doctors polled want to see some kind of /medicalsurvey. The details are in the issue when I get it up later.


I HIGHLY recommend to anyone who may not regularly read their profession forums to at least visit them once a week and look at the stickied threads. May correspondents regularly have polls ongoing. In my case I often have a preference vote and/or discussion thread for ALL of the issues that folks have brought up so that everyone can have a say and help to prioritize the list by voting for their Top 10 concerns. Items that do not get any votes then get placed onto a separate list of issues that may not have enough support to continue to be "issues". So far we just haven't had any issues that fall into that category.
