Thread: Charging for Rez Yes or No?
The reason I would charge for a rez is exactly the reason you stated.. Resource requirements are not that big of a deal for a rez pack.
What IS a big deal is the 'risk' of finding an individual and rezzing them in the midst of danger.
So yes, however the particulars should be taken care of before you ever even got inside. My conversations usually go like this:
Them: Hey, get me a rez
Me: Too dangerous.. make it worth my while
Them: OK, how about xxx
Me: Sure.. /consent me now, then bank tip me.. As soon as I see both I'll head in for you
Anyway.. I rarely get these requests since I usually have my tag off, but that would be how I would do it I think..
And to avoid run away rezzies. (those that say they will pay, I rez them, and they run off) I check to see if the dead person is in a group, if they are I tell them to have a group member send over the money first, then consent me. They can pay that person back after they get rezzed. This way there is no risk for me at all.
If they arnt in a group, I tell them to /tell a friend or someone in the area.
No sweat off my shoulder if I dont rezz them. If they want me to rezz them, they need to get it done by following my rules.
If I can see their corpse from where I am standing I will rez anyone, but like the above poster if it requires me to search for you or type in a waypoint you better be offering more than thanks at the end of it ![]()
Life is too short tbh ![]()

The problem is that most people do not appreciate the difficulty or effort that the Doc is going to, and most will not tip, hence us requiring that they pay in advance. Buffs used to be buff first, pay after, then some idiots though ripping off the Doc by running away was a good idea. Now almost all Buff Docs asked to be paid in advance. Doing what you just described will only add to the number of Docs wanting pay in advance, and will not help your cause.
Charge to cure poisons? I don't, because I have very low costs thanks to guild run factories, and I harvest my own resources. An independent Doc who buys meds, is incurring a cost in materials, AND in time spent stopping what they're doing and coming to find you. They have every right to ask that they be compensated, and if you don't agree, just say no, don't be a dumass about it ![]()
