So lets hear the stories! Cmon.. I'll start.

When I first began playing in July, I went the BH route.. On my server, there was a wookiee name Hermony who was a master doc.. One day in the med center (Back when there were people in the med center) he did some enhances on me.. I think they hit for like 1k each or so, but I was sooo impressed with that ability.. It always stuck with me. I then started my doc alt in november and now play him exclusively.

I ground out my xp at Ft. Tusken and I always got a big kick out of the appreciation some people would show at a heal here, or a rez there.. It is a incredibly fun profession for me to play and havn't gotten bored with it yet..

I started as a Scout in early July. I took up Medic to heal myself in camps. While sitting in the Med Center healing up, someone asked "Can you help me out?" So I started healing him after thatI started hanging out in the Med Center more thanI was out killing animals. Then I made some friends in the Med Center and it snowballed from there. Before I knew it, I had Mastered Medic and Doctor without grinding anything.

I really didn't know what to become when I started in July but I took up CH (when CH wasa very powerful class) and my pets constantly needed heals so I worked on getting master medic. I've been a master medic all this time but I only took up Doc last month because I hated wasting time on the long buff lines.

My holocron told me to be a Bio-Engineer. I started on medic and then realized that I have enough people telling me what to do with my real life. As a formidable pistoleer, I also had quite a habit of torturing stormtroopers. I decided that I didn't want killing to always be the thing I was best at. I became a doctor because I wanted to heal people. I wanted to be the reason the group doesn't have to disband, the reason people get back up and keep fighting. I know I sound like a ditsy model trying to win a pageant with a poetic answer, but honestly someone has to have the calling to heal. We all know that being a doctor isn't as lucrative as we thought it would be when we started. I'm not here for the credits. I'm here to make sure the rebel commandos can put down twice the imperials I ever could. It's supposed to be an alliance isn't it? Why not be a valuable ally?

I started for a variety of reasons.

First I wanted to explore crafting but didn't want to pick up a full blown crafting profession. Crafting is a big part of doc but it's not ALL that docs do. They have other uses as well.

Second I was sick and tired of pickup groups being the biggest waste of play time I had ever engaged in. The designated "nut who has a knack for dying" kept popping up time and time again and as a doc a pickup group would never be a waste of time again.

Third at the time I made the decision to be a doc my wife was expecting and I knew that when the baby arrived playtime would be at a premium and I would be called away frequently to tend to the baby. As a doc sitting in the med centers healing people I could still play, level, interact and meet new people AND be called away at a moments notice without fear of getting killed. As a 100% combat character going /afk while fighting on dant could be hazardous to your health.

Finally the ablity to self buff (while not the reason I became a doc) is very nice. When I log in and want to solo I don't have to worry about not finding a doc since I'm one myself.

I like crafting but not TO much crafting. With some other crafting proffesions your so busy selling u really have no need to use the things you make.

I like hitting a new high on a buff stat and beating my previous record. I like being needed.

I started as a marksman in Keren, Naboo when the game launched. I became a medic simply because there weren't
enough around. I mastered medic by actually sitting in the med center healing folks as they came in - no grinding. When I made master medic, I went up the stairs to the cantina and had a little celebration w/ the regular dancers there. Yes, you heard me correctly, regular dancers in Keren. From there, it was simple to start doctor. I started exploring the galaxy and eventually mastered doctor along the way. The only grinding I did was for the last box of med craft - that one was a killer. All the rest of the med craft xp was made by actually crafting meds to use.

Self buffing rocks!

::Shifty::

But anyways.. yea.. being able to migrate my stats down to 400 across the 6 is pretty cool.. My gf refered to my HAM display as the pinky finger.. Her being a dancer had the middle finger..

I also picked up CM and love being in a group throwing heals out left and right against really hard mobs.. I totally agree with the fact that it feels awesome to be needed in the group..

Eventually I limp back to the cantina with a completely black bar from mind heals.. When that happens, I _know_ I had a good time..

I picked up a mean buff addiction. I hate relying on other people in the game so I picked up doctor so I could buff myself. I made master Doc last night.

I started the game not knowing what to become so I started as a scout. I tried hunting and kept getting taken down and standing around waiting for may ham to tick up got old. I then read about stims and thought wow that would be nice. So I picked up med. I then got hooked on crafting.

I did not even know what the term grinding was when I was climbing up doc. Nearly all my healing xp came from hunt groups until someone gave me a nice med droid for only 5kthen I started healing every black bar I could find. I was on my last box of crafting when someone showed me a crafting macro (and ya, I used it).

I have been a doc ever since.

I got all the newbie professions (remember those days when it seemed like 250 skill points would never be used up???) just out of curiosity. Went on a couple of hunts with various strangers I hooked up with in Bestine, and it turns out I wasn't that good as a hunter (now that I realise the problem was probably with everyone else blasting two types of crap out of every lair within a 100m radius, I'm starting to think this wasn't entirely my fault!). I'd put up some Stim As in my toolbar, though, and started healing other people in the group. Suddenly started getting crazy medical experience, and before I knew it I had skills in the fourth tier of medic. Seriously high-level stuff it was for me, too!

Did a bit of crafting and ended up with Stim C's and the next thing I knew I was a Master Medic... surprised the hell out of myself with that one!

Doc was just a natural progression from there... I didn't know much about buffing before getting involved as a doc, but now I don't know how I lived without it at all.

Originaly started as CH/TKA and then moved on to CM/CH which of course didn't last long then I went into CM/DOC which I kept for 3 months. I just recently dropped CM and am now going towards DOC/Swordsman. I wanted Doc in the first place so I could rez people in PvP, cure poisons in PvP, and Cure Diseases. So it was realy a PvP move but now I love it. I love being called on whenever I go anywhere for buffs. If I don['t want to buff I just say /r Not buffing today sorry. But I love being asked.
