Ok, I'm sorry but I had to come here and ask. Today someone told me (of course, in these cases things are often warped) that in publish 10 they are changing doc buffs to doubling stats instead of enhancing them 2k+ much in the way entertainer buffs work. This would completely change the game. I'm wondering if this is based on any fact whatsoever. Thanks for you time.

That is not based on fact..
The answer is no one knows..
But the general consensus is that they will be reduced in some sort of way to try to bring things back into 'balance'
However the rebalance has been pushed back.. you don't have to worry for quite some time

To change the current buff system IMO would ruin the game. How else to the devs expect ppl to go and have fun? I can't always find ppl to go out to a specific spot and do a nice group hunt like I used to before Player Cities and mounts/vehicles.
Changing the system to the way an Entertainer Buffs (percentage based) is just wrong given the fact that we have to go out and collect resources and dedicate more time into my buffs than I do for musician. Which is go into a cantina or public house, play virtually any song I like, with whatever instrument I prefer and pump out 120 flourishes. The Medic/Doc profession is not based like this from the start, why change it solely for buffs.

They already nerfed the 3000 point buffs. I would not be surprised to see them do away with 2000 point buffs too.
However, I have heard nothing about another nerf headed our way.

I don't think they can touch buffs until everything else is balanced out. If they nerfed buffs, but kept weapon damage and armor encumbrance, and mob levels at what they are now, even more people would leav then already has.

Well it would certainly change things for those of us who mitigated our stats to 400 - 400 - 1100.
But aside from that. I don't feel this will make the impact that the Devs might hope it will. I really feel that we, as a community, will get beyond this. I am heartened when re-reading my early posts, and comparing my experiences in the very beginning days to those of today. At the time the KD nerf was put into effect everything simply became a world of hurt. The entire game was turned on it's head, and, all but Commandos felt the pain. One was able to go nowhere and do nothing, and yet, now, My characters do more, easier, better, than they ever did before.
There is more content in the game, game play is smoother, PvE is more exciting, far-ranging, and Balanced! My melee chars do equally as well as my Ranged Chars. Though there are differences, and I have favorite templates, each template far exceeds the expectations, and abilities of my early, KD dependent toons. PvP is also far more meaningful, enjoyable and far-reaching. I think in many ways this has gone hand in hand with the developement of player cities (Something which STILL has room for growth).
That the developers are looking at changing Doctor Buffs, Armor... well. All of that HAS changed since the beginning, since the days when Chitin was greeted with great fanfare, then left by the wayside in favor of No armor at all. When Doctor buffs were such a rarity that they seemed more an exploit than a feature. When Advanced products for Stimm Packs was a concept greeted by great skepticism. and Heavy Harvesters were strange, rare beasts, and, vast percentages of resources were still being mined through the use of personal harvesters and... gasp, Sampling!
Looking back over what has gone before, I am confident we can find a way to overcome the months of unease and chaos their changes will ensue, Until some goodness gels, as it has before.

God I hope they nerf buffs, they have destroyed the entire reason to group in this game, not only that but they have destroyed any reason to be a doc, other then for buffing (as far as PVE is conserned) I miss the days of running around healing my group in Dant.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I wouldn't mind if buffs were nerfed even further. Why? Because right now a lot of people get buffs, then go out and solo. With lower buffs, people would group more often for the tougher mobs, more stims would be used.
I actually enjoyed being MD when buffs were less prevalent. We would go out on hunts, everyone would get incapped/DBed. I'd drag/rez/heal them and such. (Yes, I enjoyed mopping the floor with my comrades). More player interaction and interdependencies.
Those were the days...

Check this little train of thought. What if buffs were nerfed to the point that we actually found the need to attack health instead of mind, *gasp*. What would happen? The world would be destroyed!! Run!!!! We might actually have to use tactics and other attacks that *dun dun dun* DON"T hit mind.
Oh my!

I am a doctor and I believe alot of things should change.
1. health and action buffs should be a percentage instead of a flat 3k increase. With master doc buffs. You can prettly much solo almost anything will little regard for dieing.
2. get rid of the damn tumbers. I never used tumbers and gained all my exp from healing wounds. It is very annoying for a combat profession to comeinto a medic center and have 20 people macroing and spamming away.

Agree. Although last night was wierd. Only one tumbler in coronet, and nobody using him. Also very few customers period. Very slow night last night.
