Thread: I Hate the hate system, its stupid

My first experience with doctor in the CU and it horrible. Grinding on dant I heal someone in my group and bam not only the mob they were attacking but every mob at the lair and in general area are on me. I dont understand the system isn't it against the Geneva Convention to kill medics? How does a piket know when I use a bacta shot on some one and then call every piket in galaxy to kill. There is no reason to heal people, it will only end in your death.

It's part of the hate system. Trick is you need to heal your mates properly. Bacta shot should be reserved for emergencies. As it Has the largest heals. Which means it is most likely to draw aggro. Rely on you Bacta Jab and Bacta infusion for you in combat heals. Now if you want Maximum Medical XP, you can participate in combat. (I Mean don't attack any thing) You need to concentrate on heals. Your Mates need to tank and draw aggo for you if you should come under attack. Once you do camage to a Mob You medical XP starts going to combat and weapon xp.

Is the system stupd? Yeah, but managable.

I agree, the current hate system is absolutely stupid. It makes no sense that a creature would be able to tell that we healed a player and come after us. Funny that I never saw Doctor or Medic in the tanking part of the CU guide when it came out. Once again yet another pathetic example of the developers design.

Or embrace the hate system and become the groups tank. Draw aggro and let the other group members kill and just keep yourself healthy and tanking away.

Aw come on, you're gonna judge the whole system on your first experience since CU?


I can honestly say that as a doc/pistoleer I've had to stop wearing armour (to the point I dont even own any at the moment & havent for about a month!) in order to bump up the med xp I earn when I'm fighting & healing together.


The hate needs managing for docs just like my rifleman alt needs to try & manage it, once you get the hang of it it's a piece of cake, to say nothing of the fact that a doc can now survive long enough with a whole mob aggro'd on him for his group to kill it off in all but the most extreme of circumstances.


He he, you shoulda tried starting out as a Doc just after CU hit & doing the healing quest on ph4 at the village like I did.That was without the huge boost that's been given to our healing power now & the big reduction in hate. You try having the whole village full of sith aggro'd on you as you try & rez someone, you learn very quickly about managing hate!

this fantastic little post, also available in the stickies, gives you all the info you need about managing hate/aggro. But I think you're right about the Geneva convention, not sure if you can /bug that one...

personally i think its great, its somewhat similar to EQ2, u have to learn to keep your tank alive w/ out gettin the mobs attention, and the rest of the group needs to learn to moderate thier dps so your only healing 1 or 2 peeps, not spaming heals trying to keep 7 peeps on thier feet. this system really encourages people to work together for the great success of everyone....be glad you dont get xp debt, or group exp debt sharing....anything that encourages group dynamic is good imo.

This system is alot like everquest 1 and 2. if you dont manage your heals right then you get agro. If a groupmate is doing to much damage then he gets agro over the tank. this system has been around for a LONG time. if you dont like it to be a docter.... simple as that dont go ranting on stuff thats worked for a very very very long time

The system works very well in the games mentioned above and the same things can be done in this game.


Doctors for the most part didn't have any risk involved in going into groups and just spamming heals left and right. Now you have to be a skillful Doctor and not just a button smasher.

hate system.. it's kool delt with it before...


however the broken hate spray draws is inasne....


oh and hate isn't that difficult to manage.. .i'm able to do it quit easily

It's pretty standard that everyone has a line of healing now. So healing others, especially in the dwb really has no point.
