I thought I would put together some FAQ's regarding Doctor and the CU. Please add any little bit you have gathered and I will try to updated this thread with it.
Q1: Does a doctor need meds to heal/buff/cure etc.
A1: No. However, Bio-Engineers can crafter Enhancers which will increase a Docs ablities by 20-30%. (As we get hard numbers I will add them in). Current testing shows buffs to be 10% of base.
Q2: How good will a doc buff be?
A2: Upto about 20%. (as I get hard numbers I will add them)
Q3: How do you get Med Exp?
A3: By healing while in combat. In practice there are two methods
1. Self healing.
2. Healing a group member
The total exp from the creature or NPC will devide between combat exp and med exp as a function of the amount of healing vs fighting that was done. Therefore, playing a purely healer role in a group will result in the most exp.
Q4: What does the skill tree look like?
A4: This character builder can provide answers to these types of questions.

Q5: How much healing does each of our skill enable?
A5: I will try to collect this info as we get it.
Q6: Are Doctor's Fighters?
A6: Yes, as part of the CU the Doctor prof is thought of as acombatprofand thus get the HAM bonus and CL bonus.
Q7: Are droids required?
A7: Not currently. However, when this question was posed beforeDev did say that droids would provide a bonus when used. No details were given.
Q8: Will there be a Med City Bonus?
A8: Unknown at this time. Will need to be tested if we can get cities at the right lvl.
Q9: Will Loot subs (Janta, Venom, etc) be usable?
A9: Unkown at this time. Will need testing. For Enhancers that require 7+ subs this may be a extra difficult task.
Q10: What do Enhancers do?
A10: Current testing shows that at M. Doc they do not provide any benifit. Waiting to see if this is intended.
Q11: What do our current meds get converted into?
A11: For now buffs are getting converted into CU Stims as are all other meds. I will provide details in the next update. I believe this is intended and will ask that Buffs be converted to Enhancers.
Q12: Will BE clothing provide a bonus?
A12: Currently they do not. However, we have asked it this is intended.
Q13: Will Overbuffing reset the buff?
A13: Current testing shows that it does not. Will need to ask if this is intended.

When will we have a definite answer regarding the status of how existing medical components/products, (i.e. buff packs, etc), will be converted post CU so we can have adequate time to prepare?

Q: Will the new enhancers be affordable?
A: No. As they currently stand, they will cost at least 11k-20k to make, and will probably sell for 40-80k, or more, for around 200 shots.
That means that, with the exception of enhances which cost a little less, you will be paying 2-3x your current cost for meds (per shot) and only getting 20-30% of the current benefit.

You can ask the question and give the answer as currently undefinded. When it becomes know, then we will post the new answer. For example,
Q: What will our current meds be convert to in the CU?
A: It is not known at this time exactly how meds (or any item) will get converted. All that has been states it that they will be coverted to something useful.
I will then add in the details when we are given the info.
Clearly the devs know we all want to have this question answer, as does anyone with armor or a weapon or anytihng else impacted.

I will try to provide the facts that support your assesment but let the reader determin if the are "affordable". I will make a link to the resouces list, add in the number of charges, and explaination of how each works (that is as soon as I get to try one out :smileywink

Hehe, sorry about that. I was feeling sarcastic today. I'm a bit dissapointed, bordering on disillusioned that we havent heard anything from the devs on this issue.

Q: Do Doctor skills increase my combat level?
A: Not at this time, however your healing abilities will certainly help you and your group in combat.

Is the purpose of this only to add info we know the answers to, or a place we can post legitimate questions to the devs, seeking answers?

I would say it should be a thread to post questions that can be answered by other players. And post answers if you know them.

if you want my opinion on it docs are just about obsolete with the new system..i play on Gorath and since we are the tc server copy right now i see no real reason to be a doctor anymore..Ive been a master doctor since early sept of 03 and ive seen the ups and downs of being a doc but the new system imho just doesnt cut it. from what hunting groups ive seen the last couple of days are using jedi in their party to do the healing. the buffs and woundpacks i had in my inventory are now stims..stims which you can only use on yourself and not other people in your party. the foods are messed up...when buffing my be clothes make no difference i only got 10% raise in health no matter what combos i used, the regen wasnt all that great and the highest hit i got on an advanced bacta injection was 245
