That is all. Please post here to support this idea... the issue is currently being discussed by the devs and we need to get momentum behind this.

Either that or just let theDocs heal wounds outside a hospital without a droid anyway.... they are a Doctor right? If I just wanted to heal dmg i would have stayed a medic.

They should extend it to allow calling of ANY pet outside of a camp, house or city. What is the big concern there anyways? Cutting scouts out of the loop?

They know everyone has novice scout just to runuphill and harvest meatand has crates of basic camp kits, so its not like anyone is seeking out a master ranger to drop a camp so we can call a droid.

No they should limit it to disallowing any pet to enter or be called in a city. Except droids of course.

I agree that droids should be able to be called anywhere! It would be easier for everyone that way, don't ya think?! I mean we could be able to heal at all times and our patients can get what they need when they need it. That's just this little doctor's opinion! Hehe

Look at the movies.

Droids should be out when you are traveling...

Luke didn't store R2 or 3p0, and yank them out when he needed them...

Storing them at all is kinda cheap really and anti-Star Wars.

Yeah, I know about pathing bugs and autostoring bugs.

In the fiction though you aren't supposed to be yanking things out of noplace on a whim (droids, pets, speeders etc...)

These are supposed to be your companions, and be in the story too...

Camps break this SW feeling in your favor.

if you could pul lthe med droid out anyplace... you'd be better off just asking to heal anyplace.. because having an AI MoB item that helps you heal would be a waste of code. Why bother with it at all?

Why bother with storing your Droid?

Well I don't know about anyone else, but I paid 10K for my droid (which is a lot of money for me), and I don't want to have it killed.

You know, I think not wanting to lose a droid is not really about the ability to call it anywhere. It's more about not having easy methods to fix droids, like we do for creature pets. I can't just "feed" a droid and have it hell all its own wounds. I can't stim its damage and I sure can't trick it to heal everything wrong with the droids mind. I think addressing those kinds of issues would go a long way to alleviating the need to call our med droid anywhere.

Personally I think all of these things should probably autocall, instead of autostore, so that your alloted pets (of whatever kind) are always out if not explicitely stored. (well, the last ones you used, anyways.) Then you'd have to go to someplace to swap them if you needed to. It's pretty funky as it is drawing these things out of thin air.

So my take on it is that there are a lot of other issues with pets that really need to be resolved that are what are causing this feeling that we need to be able to call them anywhere and causing us to fear having them out with us. Fix those problems and our need to call anywhere lessens.

At any rate, the issue will need more support thatn 2 or 3 folks to make it onto the list. Then is still has to survive the voting process to actually make it into the upper levels where it might get taken seriously. Just reiterating that my personal view on this issue, like so many other issues I don't really think should be on our lists, wo't prevent me from getting this issue there if there is support for it.

I CANNOT agree with you more.

I think ONLY place you should be allowed to pull out pet or droid is your own house.

No city, no camp, just your house. (or in presence of Droid Engineer)

BUT before that ever happen your droid/pet should ALWAYS stay with you no matter what!

Add (/petsummon) or some other command which instantly summon any pet/droid you have out to your side no matter where they are. I am getting mighty sick and tired of having to re-log to store the pet that is lost somewhere.

Well, maybe this will make some of you guys feel better.. I have my 2-1B surgical droid out almost ALl the time, cept when im overt.. cause the imps find it neat to kill my droid, and then i have to search the galaxies for a Droid Engineer. But if im out on a mission, or walking around, or whatever, my droid is by my side... he makes for a good bed budd........... yeah, imma stop there hehe

My guess is that all pets whether of the metal or flesh and blood type work under the same programming mechanisms. To change one is to change them all. It would seem then that the big picturewould need a re-evaluation for game balance should any proposed changes be implemented.

At the very least I would like to bring my Droid out in my own home. To keep changing from private to a public structure so I can get my Droid to craft in my own home when all I need is a tentwith a couple torches out in the wilderness doesn'tseem quite right to me. But this is a minor nuisance. If it could be accomplished simply, great. Otherwise, my preference is to use resources to take care of more pressing issues.

The not pulling a droid in yoru own private residence is a real nuisance. But, at lest if it is your declared residence then all you have to do is go outside. You can pull any of your pets out when out and within 64m of your declared residence.

never thought of that Z, interesting idea.

Autocall instead of Autostore is a very interesting solution to a lot fo the problems... And is much more friendly to non-camp having people... It keeps the pet from 'poofing'...
