Well, tehy still have to fix the problems of pets getting stuck someplace. Far too easy to try to thread mobs and lose track of your pet int he process. When they get stuck too far behind, how doyou find them again?

I think someon mentioned the idea of a /calltolocation command, where effectively the /tellpet command would have an unlimited range, but I think that might be abusable as surprise tactic. Unless he pet warped out to, say, 120m and had to then run the rest of the way to get back to you. I dunno.

I would not mind having my droid out all the time instead of 60% of the time if they did 2 things.
1. Make them run as fast as your mount gallops or ride with you on mount or in vehical.

2. Make batteries last longer. Seems mine is always low power when I really need it or runs low halfway through a long run and stops following or follows really slow.

As for being able to call them anywhere then you have to look at the other types of droids, combat droids coming in January or so etc, They are not going to let combat droids/pets be called on a whim.

The ability for a Doctor maybe Master Doctor to call only a surgical droid at anytime would be nice though and a kinda cool perc for Mastering.

Anything supported here gives support to our friends in the Creature Handler and Droid Engineer forums

Ok Zarlor I think there is enough support for this idea... up on the list please... I want dev visibility while they are discussing things now.

Bumping the thread won't make any difference to me, and usually the Devs don't do as much reading in the profession forums (or at least not responding) so it probably doesn't make much difference to them either. I read this stuff when I read it, but I do read it.

At any rate I'd already decided we have enough support on this to put it on the Gameplay list. I'm not sure what is meant by getting it in front of the Devs, though. The voting for categories is already over, so this one will be going in at the bottom of the Gameplay list, but won't be in for the current Top 5 being voted on right now. The only real exposure non-Top 5 issues really get is stickied on this forum and the State of the Profession report where all of the issue titles are listed (and the Top 5 in each of the 5 categories is highlighted.)

So the next chance to vote it up for exposure won't happen until we get the response to our last Top 5. Sorry.

I think if your droid is out it should be vunerable. It sure will stink when they get destroyed, but it's a challenge!!

If we wanted to stick with the movies, maybe an evade command where the droid runs away for 500m to get away from the agro, and then when it's over-you have to go find it again. Kind of like C-3P0. Even better if their response to aggro depended upon their personality chip!

I totally support this idea! I have to carry scout just so I can set up camp and pull out my droid when needed. I also have to carry artisan so I can survey for my resources. I switch between these two novice starting professions depending on what I am doing. Also, somtimes I have to switch to entertainer to cure my own BF.

I have a couple ideas on this issue that I'd like some feedback on. The droid being lost in limbo is a pain. As Zarlor mentioned, have a command to summon the droid to your location. In order to prevent any combat abuse, give the bot a 1 minute cool down before it's usable(much like the post-resurrection cool down players experience). Upon summoning, the droid will be able to follow you but not participate in fights immediately. My idea for the calling ofdroids is a bit different. Upon taming the droid from deed, I believe it should be with you at all times. I think the droid should have 2 modes of operation: Combat-It's only capabilities in this mode are to attack and guard. Support-Only capabilities available are the crafting station(if installed), wound healing, buffs, crafting, etc. While in this mode, droid cannot attack or be attacked. To offset the invulnerability of the droid while in this mode, there should be a small deteriation over time which would drain from a droid vitality pool. This the only thing I can think of to keep the droid engineers in business while utilizing my ideas. Well, lmk what you think. Thanks for reading.

I don't support this one. There's no problem. The only problem with droids is they eat too many batteries.

I am a little bewildered, Arcdischarge lol. Obviously you like being a Scout as well... but most of us don't think that making atent from bone and hidesto pull out our non-combat droid in the Star Wars universeisn't really a fun or immersive feature.

"don't support this one. There's no problem. The only problem with droids is they eat too many batteries."

Completly agree, it's so not a major issue. Droids are a luxuary, without them it would be buffs in the med centers only. Now there are 100 places where u can use ure meds (City halls, houses, player cantinas) and you want droids available anywhere? There are more important matters to deal with like the log out/ lose buff keep timer issue, or the fast that the on fire status ailment exists without a cure (other than running to water).
