That they depend on us to survive in this game. First of all I am a Master Doc currently gathering resources to try and make and sell buff packs to the public. I am just waiting for a good class 4 liquid petro/dant berry fruit/reactive gas spawn, untill then I am hunting Avian meat on Yavin with 800 or so PE 944 OQ. Now heres the kicker. I've got established Master Doc's paying upwards of 200 credits per unit for this stuff! Theres also a good Tat Avian spawn thats going for 400 CPU. How in the world can I compete with those prices? More importantly why are they so insanely high? I gathered 10k of the Yavin Avian in 4 hours with only novice scout. Why do the docs have to pay so much for this stuff? Why can't we all just pay something more sane like 30 credits per unit? And incase these price gougers that stockpile this meat untill its out of spawn then sell itback for double didnt realize... they depend on our buff packs to play this game!!! No one in this game hunts without buffs, so why dont we give them a reason not to pay them a million credits for 10000 units of meat that can be harvested quickly. It's all an endless cycle and I think it'd be somewhat interesting if we boycotted high prices on meat and instead paid something like 10 cpu at most. This in turn would bring down the buff prices and would lead to happier players. In the end I don't think most people realize how much we actually do for this game... if it wasn't without our buffs then no one would be able to run around soloing every creature in the game. I guess I'm just tired of being a buff whore.

On Tatooine, for instance, the only thing that drops Avian meat is Nunas if I remember correctly. How long would it take to gather 1k units? 2k? 1-2 hours maybe? You have to make it worthwhile for the hunter gathering the meat. If you want them to gather maet instead of making loads of money running Janta missions, you have to pay them accordingly.

Exactly. The problem isn't that players gouge us with the price of the meat, it's that unless you offer 100 cpu or more, for the amount of avian meat that you get per harvest it's not worth the trouble.

Usually it's the doctors trying to gather as much of the meat as they can that set the prices.

Doc A offers 30 cpu when the meat first spawns

Doc B offers 60 cpu

Doc C offers 100 cpu

Doc A offers 150 cpu

etc

etc

The price only goes so high because someone else was willing to pay it.. I have a doctor character but I dont actuall buff the public.. they are for guild and friends only.. so I do not buy meat from anyone.. I go get it myself. Unfortunately I miss the shift of good meat sometimes but when I do go out I get enough for about 1000 sets of buffs (roughly 13 to 14k meat)

Yes docs have to bid up each other, but they only start high because below that people will not bother. It really goes both ways.

If your tired of being a buff whor3 then what do you think the hunters are tired of being? Don't you think they want to get paid well for the extream boringness of hunting avian?

How much would you want to get paid per hr of hunting nuna?

You got 10k meat in 4 hrs. Thats 2.5k per hour. If you were to get paid 100 cpu then that would be 250k per hour. Most good fighters can make more than that per hour doing Janta mission on Dant and they have the chance of getting some Blood or other loot not to mention havingmore fun.

It is not about the cr/unit of meatit is about the cr/hr of game time. This number has to be higher then competeing alternatives such as hunting for strate cash.

And what will these people be hunting when they cant find anyone to buff them? I doubt they'll be doing Janta missions without adequate buffs, so there goes their so called lucrative income.

Myself? I gather my own meat. I'll be damned before I pay anyone more than 10cpu for anything. But, since I have to spend my time hunting instead of buffing, it's not me that loses out. Someone is going to have to wait an extra half an hour to get their buffs.

That's true, but the system is working fine as we stand right now. The docs that craft buff packs still make money buying avian at 200+ cpu. The buff bots make money buying the packs from the crafting docs and buffing the public. The hunters make money off of the buffs killing things. It takes awhile to establish yourself to the point you can drop million on avian meat, but once you can, it is well worth it to pay 200 cpu or higher to get the amount of meat you want.

Typical buff

22 avain@ 100 cpu = 2200

22 gas@10cpu =220

3 ABEC's@10cpu (3*18*2) =1080

2 ACRDM@10cpu (2*16) + @40 cpu(2*16) = 1600

1 ASDS@10cpu (2*16) = 360

Total 5460

If you get 30 charges then it is 182 cr per charge or about 1.1k per set.

Now if the buff set sells for 10k a set that makes the avain costs about 5% of the buff price even at 100 cpu. So even if you get your avain for free you will only make about 5% more profit when buffing for cash.

If your out to make money, my advice, buy the meat and spend all your extra time buffing. You will make far more crafting/buffing than you will hunting.

My alt is a BH/Ranger, I could send him along the BH/Pistoleer tree, but those extra couple of units of meat per harvest make one hell of a difference over a days harvesting.

I refuse to pay more than 5cpu for any resource, no matter the quality or scarcity of said resource, as a result of my choice in this matter, I haven't made any buffs for a while as exceptional avian is not in cycle on Tempest atm. I buy my buff sets from the people that do pay such prices, I know I'm paying a higher price for my sets, but it gives me an income I can live on until some avian drops and then I will be self reliant again.

It all comes down to choice, people choose to hunt annoying small portions of meat because Doctor-Crafters choose to pay extorionate prices, if said docs would drop some of their combat skills and pick up Nov scout they could get the meat themselves. All of a sudden, with the demand for large stacks of said meat going down, prices would follow suit and Docs could (for a while) resort to saving themselves some time/effort in the gathering of meat by buying it at a reasonable price.

The supply/demand see-saw is a **edit**... I don't play on it cause it seems to have a habit of cracking me in the 'nads on the upswing.

Peace
