Thread: Unwanted Buff

Story so far...
I was playing last night quite happily mastering brawler when i got diseased by a mottled wrix so on completing the lair i went to the med center to get healed. Went in and no MD's healing disease so I waited for disease to wear off. I got bored of waiting for said disease to wear off and decided to log off for the night and come back on today. (May i point out i had over 400 health wounds at this point)
So today I logged in and my latop takes an age for it to load so whilst i'm in this psuedo state of being in the game yet not being in the game novice medics see this badly diseased and wounded person magically appear in the med center. An XP gift from the lord they must think. And they proceed to heal me. Good job i think.
In the interim a doc walks up to me and slaps a sencondary buff on me. I hadn't even finished loading ffs. Now I'm walking around with a buff on my secondary stats all because this doc thought I was a tumbler.
May I point out some things for other griefing docs
1 I'm not a tumbler (I like to play the game and have better things to do than sit in a med center earning sh!t money for being totally bored out of me head)
2 I used to be a doc and only gave it up for the holo grind,( I get pissed off with tumblers but griefing them and violating them is not the way to solve it)
When i asked him about it he denied it at first, then after i told him i had the log he claimed he was doing it for XP now i didn't actually see him but i can almost say that he didn't need the xp because the buffs themselves where over 1500 and 3.5 hoursand they don't sound like novice doc buffs unless i was doing something drastically wrong.
All in all i'm not at all happy about this and don't know whether I should report him. His solution was he would db me in a duel to get rid of them but what i would've preferred and even suggested is that he finish the buff off I even offered to pay yet i think that i'm on his ignore list now.
Am I out of order for thinking this and should I report him? Like i said I'm going back to being a doc myself and I didn't grind my profession so you can see that I'm not happy with tumblers either yet I don't/won't grief them for the way they play

What's the problem?
You have a secondary buff you don't want? How does that affect you?
I don't get it.
You DO know that that buff CAN be overridden by a more powerful doc...
Re explain your problem, I dont see what the problem is...

My problem is this,
This doc obviously has a thing about tumblers, and people not playing the game the way they should. He's obviously not playing the game as he should otherwise he would've cured my disease and healed my wounds. Instead he slaps a secondary buff on me that is quite high and lasts long I doubt that I would've been able to get a buff to match it so that screws my timing up when I'm out on missions. And when i ask for the follow up buffs he ignores me and thats just anti social. I'm not a griefer and I don't complain about a lot, I just think he was bang out of order for doing this to me and then offering to kill me to put it right, call me old fashioned but this isn't what a doctor should do. I didn't do it he should show people some respect and not do it himself.

SO you're mad that this guy thought you were a tumbler and you got hit for no reason.
There is nothing "illegal" about tumbling, (even though it's being used for something that it wasnt designed for...thats another thread)
There is also nothing "illegal" about buffing people without permission.
If the buff was 1500 3,5 hours (strange results imho) that buff can be easily over ridden and you shouldnt have a problem...
Don't worry about it, as long as you're REALLY not a tumbler, you shouldn't have a problem.

So, we have to accept things we do not ask for nor want? Some players prefer to do things without buffs at times..
The point of the matter, irregardless of how it can be overridden, is that it was an UNASKED for and UNWANTED buff. It was rude and antisocial.
Do like I do if you cant stand tumblers.. add them to your ignore list... dont buff them whem they come to you later on asking for buffs... and wait for the combat balance to see what happens when they change how specials affect people..
But above all, even if it is HELPING someone by enhancing them, and unwanted buff is STILL griefing..

Wait a second... He buffs you while your in the (LD) stage as your logging out? If that's the case then that buff should have been gone when you logged in the next day.

If that doctor thought you were a tumbler and buffed you to stop it, he could be banned for griefing. Buffing tumblers is nothing more than a petty, small minded griefing tactic. They have no right to do so. Tumbling has no effect on their gameplay.

You did not ask for the wound healing but I dont see you writting a thread about the medics who healed your wounds. In fact you said that they did a great jub.
By your logic the wound healers griefed you because they did something to you without being asked.

No, sounds like he got buffed when he was logging back in..
In the old days this used to be a big problem when they could not be overwritten.. but now days it is no big deal..I personally would be annoyed if they were like 2500 for 3.5 hours, but 1.5k is pretty low when it comes to buffs..
I would personally not report, and I doubt that would do youany good.. And while it may be annoying to you, there is nothing that can be done.. and I would just move on.. Thats just my opinion of course..

To be honest, if I get wound healed when I do not want to I would be just as upset... for example it -is- a method to give a medic XP for healing...
The intent of a med center -is- for people to come for healing.. enhances ARE an above and beyond thing not really covered by the hospital intent... especially when it is done to grief tumblers..

I heal people all the time without being asked. I am a m. doc, don't need the xp, but have a freakin ton of meds so I try to help out where I can. Should I be concerned that someone my start yelling at me for healing them without being asked? Heck no.
If someone has slapped a cure disease on you when you first walked into the med center without asking you would you have started yelling at them?
You should know that a 1500 power is about the right amount for a doc using a good pack but who is not a master yet (ie med use below 100). A 800ish pack with med use 75 will hit for about 1500. So the doc you just bitched at could have been telling the trueth and just buffed you to get the xp. He could have buffed you for free for the same reason the medics healed your wounds for free.
If the guy was willing to DB you and rez you then it sounds like he was trying to make up for any precieved grief.
IMO you over reacted and could have handled things better. I was not there of couse and could be wrong.

No he was buffed while loading.
Tumblers are for now part of the game and in several threads it has been posted that peoples accounts have been marked for grieving for secondary buffing tumblers.
I am sure that if that doc was buffing for xp he would not have hit only one secondary action stat
