Thread: I must admit I am upset with doctor.
Well...
I have read the post about what needs to be fixed which I think is only the start of a decent profession. However I would like to say I am very upset at wasting my time on this profession for a few reasons:
1. To Create Enhance D's it is quite frustrating to make them decent with all the different things you must do to create them and you can spend up millions just on making a crate of Enhance D's when you hardly make money on doctor.
2. With all the resource changes you cannot always find what you need to make decent Enhances so you make go through weeks before you can make more.
3. The buffs... I do not like at all how the range vary on these I can buff for about 3k then it will drop to 900....
4. Money... You hardly make any money with doctor because of all the stuff you must pay for to make your items.
5. Most items require way to much just to make them and with how much you pay for your resources or spending the money on your harvesters you lose a ton of money.
The main reason I am upset is because of the crafting and I have lost millions in a week just on doctor. I think many people will agree with me on the money making issue and the crafting issue. I would like to see changes in doctor or I regret to say I will be taking leave in SWG.

You want to complain about resources and crafting? Try mastering Combat Medic.... You will have nightmares about Class 1 Radiactive and Class 2 liquid petro for weeks!
2. With all the resource changes you cannot always find what you need to make decent Enhances so you make go through weeks before you can make more.
See my reply above. The Doctor resources are a sinch to find compared to CM.
3. The buffs... I do not like at all how the range vary on these I can buff for about 3k then it will drop to 900....
I agree, that can be anoying, but not game breaking at all.
4. Money... You hardly make any money with doctor because of all the stuff you must pay for to make your items.
My bank account is currently around 1.6 million, mostly from sales of stims, buffs, sub-components, and raw resources. That of course is AFTER I just payed 100 days worth of maint on my player hospital, 30 days each on three harvesters, and a couple thousand K of maint on two storage houses, and buying a full set of advanced comp armor. I was always hurting for money as a Master CM, but once I got into the Doctor stuff, I havnt had to worry about money since. Ive got a vendor set up in my hospital now, and that should bring in a bit more money as well.

Are you buying resources off the bazzar? or harvesting them yourself? Maybe you need to find a better, more reliable source of material?
You and I share thesame template, AlrightyThen. We get 18 SPs leftover, and I find untraining/training novice scout/artisan is an efficient way at playing the resource game to gather both good quality creature products and harvesting. Try this out to cut down on the resource costs you'll have to payfor a ranger or at the bazaar.
Honestly, if you haven't been collecting doc resources for a while, expect to either pay enormous amounts of money for good stockpiled resources or for your buffs to suck until you can harvest the good stuff when it spawns. But don't expect tobe very succesfull in the beginning. Crafting professions definitelywork ondelayed-gratification.
And if you're playing doctor to become a pharmacist and therefore make money, you may need to sacrifice TKM to get yourself a vendor. Until then, selling medicines on the bazaar will be the only steady source of income you have.
Doctors make good money. This is one of the least-broken professions in the game.

Well... I am not mad at the buffs and I know resources must be rare but waiting weeks for a resource to be found and it isnt spawned on any planet (according to SWGcraft.com) is just plain crap... I think every resource should be spawned but the stats should be different and they should spawn on differ planets every time the shift occurs. Also buffs go for 500k for a crate of 10 on our server. The reason I lost millions is for buying 2 crates of buffs(full stat) then going out buying factories and harvestors etc just to make some buffs.
I'm guessing that's hyperbole somehow... otherwise I'm going to make a mad dash to your server and sell Enhance D's.
Unless of course it's 500K for 6 crates of 10.... so all stats. That's actually a good price if that's the case. You'll easily make it all back selling the buffs with probably a 150-200% profit.
However if... you paid 500K for a crate of 10 Enhance D's in a single stat... then you got robbed and should reconsider your decision making process for large purchases. You MAY want to shop around. ![]()
This is just my opinion and is not a flame, so dont take this personally, but I think some peole just WONT be happy no matter how much you give them.
IMO Doctors are very nice.
Sure there are bugs, sure there are things that need to be fixed or tweaked a little, but come on. 900 buffs should be regular and 3000 buffs should be exceptional. I think it is intended to be that way and I think it works fine.
About crafting, if you always go the best crap all the time, then what makes the best crap the best? Perfect resources SHOULD be rare. A perfect 100% power pack should be HARD to make. Otherwise, its not special anymore.
I think doctors are very well done. Yes things arent perfect, but I think we are better off than a lot of others.
I am a Master Doc, Master Pistoleer. I dont pvp a lot (yet) but I intend to. In a one-on-one tournament I buffed myself and Owned, I mean OWNED, a Master BH, a Master Fencer, a Master Swordsman, and lost to a master TKA (After accidently disarming my own weapon and not noticing for a good while). I dont think we are all that bad off.
Sorry bud. I just can't see how it's possible to have lost 'millions' a week trying to make up some crates of enhance D's.
The resource shifts do make life as a Doc VERY difficult sometimes. You just need to be patient, and watch the shifts. It's be no means fun, but with a good PA you should be fine. I know my PA always goes out of their way to make sure I have all I need to keep the enhances rolling.
Lastly, selling full sets of enhances can be an easy way to make some cash. On flurry I can buy a decent enhance D med pack for about 3k. I get a minimum of 15 charges out of one (this assumes of course I am not making them myself). 6 buffable stats = 6 packs = 18k, lets round up to 20k for 1 of each type. On flurry full enhances average 5k for a full buff set (I sell them for 6k personally, and usually have people insisting on tipping me more when I get a nice set of high 2k buffs). So, 5k for a full set of buffs. (15 (charges on your buff packs) x 5k ) - 20k (cost) = 55k potential profit.
How much do buffs go for on your server?
While money is always nice....Doctorswho expect to make money as there sole purpose for the profession should look else where. Being a TKA i figure the only reason that you picked this profession is either for a holo or just to be able to buff yourself...Please correct if I am wrong. So being a TKA I am pretty sure that you can run missions for a minimum of 5K, so i guess 20 of them would ok for 1-2 hrs of game time.
I never sell buffs nor med packs to players....but use them entirely for my 3 player guild or for adventures that I am grouped with...I think that last time I complained about not having money was during the first few days of character creation.
Not sure how fast you go through stims....but for what you can buy crates of them, mission payouts seem to work out nicely.
Lets see for playing this game off and on (more off than on) I have acquired a few harvester and some nice friends to trade resources...It doesn't take much to build a player based information center for doctors, who send emails to each other, when awesome resources appear, or who donate materials to new "true" doctors....Or in my case share harvesters when i am not mining stuff. Even when I am harvesting I sell resources for 1cpu to other doctors,if it not rare just to pay for expenses...who really needs 150K of a resource?
So while there may be true hardships for dual Doctors/Combat Medics, players who only take med proffession as there second or third profession shouldn't have trouble earning money, which seems to be your main gripe.
The problem with the base variable of buffs packs I would agree....But once again being a MTKA that extra "500" stats points should balance your main stats out. I really dont see the point in has base health over 3500....With stats like there are very few things that you cannot solo....
Million spent on Doc, WOW, I wished I had the much money to grind away the profession, instead I decided that I wanted to be a doctor to ensure other people didn't have to worry about wounds, and just went along playing the game in a true fashion.
Alright I hope that covered your idea about the problem of money....Sorry if i took a "certain" tone, at work, I hate to see Med profession complain about money when their main profession earns them Millions.
If you are intrested in entering the medical profession on lowca, Naboo, contact me....and we can see what we can do, my last apprentice made Master already so I am looking a new person to help along in the game.

Honestly, I had a lot of trouble making money when I first started as a medic, but I quickly learned how profitable selling medicines could be. Master doctor and a few months later, I'm a multi-millionaire. It just depends on how you play, that's all. There are ways to make money as just about any profession, and there are also ways to make no money with just about any profession.
As for the difficulties with the resources shifts, I think it's a good thing. If making the best meds possible was easy, how would you gain any sort of pleasure from making something really good?
There's a huge market out there for Master Doctors. Lots of money-making opportunities. I started losing money when I dropped Master Doctor...had to start selling resources to make up for my atrocious spending habits I picked up while a Doc...
Aaka : I have been a master doctor on Eclipse for 2 months now. Most of the key rareressources needed have spawned in these last 2 months. We have had LP4, dolovite iron. For the easier ones, like Lok wild wheat, talusian water, dantooine berries, tatooine fiber, there is always some available, and there were high quality spawns lately.
If you want to be an efficient doctor, and avoid spending like 10cpu buyingbasic med ressources, just keep in tune with what is spawning, make friends with other med crafters to trade spawn infromation, read SWGcraft ressource logs ( which are accurate but always late ). Ressource gathering is a part of your crafter job.
Once you have accumulated a stash of all the key ressources you need, (50k of each), you can relax as youcan cover your personnal needs ( and those of your friends and guildies ). What I do, as my ressource stock is quite generous, is just keep an eye on the new ressources spawning, and I pounce on any high quality spawn by dropping 2 or 3 heavies on it for 1 week. Usually, in the course of a month, 2 or 3 ressources will be worth harvesting, so thats not too much aof a hassle.
If you need further help just email or tell me ingame.
