Thread: a predicition for future docs

after the CU, buffpacks will be lost. maybe changedso we can still sell what we had left, but for the most part our big moneymaker will be gone.


you COULD sell all of your remaining product, discount down and get rid of it to get the credits into your inventory, get rid of your resources that you spent so long on to get, and just make money until you find out what you're going to do. but that's foolish, and if i might say, disgraceful. why throw away all you have worked for for 5-10 cpu? i wouldn't, but that's up to you.


we can't change what's going to happen, but we can prepare for whats coming. what we should be doing is just that... preparing. we know that there are still going to be stims, cures, res packs, and just about everything else we use besides buffs, but we will not be able to craft these, at least not as master doctors. however, they have told us that all our current med supplies will be modified automatically to fit in conformance with the new system. so what does that mean? a good stim will always be a good stim, a good cure will be a good cure, etc.


that alone gives us a good view into what we can do to prepare. what i am doing, and what i suggest that all docs do who want to be ready for the change... stock up on stims and rez packs... especially rez packs.


as far as rez packs go, here is my logic. post CU, people will be able to go out and fight based on their skill level, and will have little or no need for "enhancements." however, big game hunting and high end content, without the buff and armor system that we have currently, will require that some sort of healer is involved. and what are going to be the 2 most used pharmaceuticals? high level stims, and rez packs.


just a hunch but it's better than nothing, and i plan on taking full advantage of the new system, whether or not i decide to go BE.

There really is not need for post like this without supporting facts. Rumors and "Hunchs" just don't cut it in the real realm of things to come.

are you crazy?


will docs be needed more in the field for combat? yes


will our current med products be converted to the new standards? yes


what will a master doc have an advantage for over other non-master docs? high level healing and resussitation


will we be able to craft what we need as master doctors? no


soooooo wouldn't it make sense for it to be a logical assumption? go ahead and not make anything in advance, wait and see until beta, and have maybe 2 weeks to get things going, cause that's all the time you have, if you're lucky.and after i have thousands of items for sale with millions of product waiting to be sold, whether it is or not, i won't have to waste the time to grind BE, get the new crafting supplies (if any), and then produce them. was offering a suggestion, just saying its a pretty good idea.

Assumptions don't amount to much. I find it very hard to believe that SOE would take *everything* doc'shave made and stockpiledand just "forget about it". Your right maybe they will give us 2 weeks to prep and "sell everything we own". But I for one don't see that happening. The effects ofa change like that would have such a huge impact on ALL crafters (Weaponsmiths, Armorsmiths, BE's, DE's, ETC)....It would be very VERY stupid of SOE to do something like that.


Doctors aren't the only profession to get changes. Basically every crafting profession in this game will be changing. Everything that is changing will "be brought in line with the new system".....*not* thrown out the window to start from scratch.


Go ahead and sell everything you own, it doesn't really affect any one but yourself. But with the CU comes many retroactive changes. Which is why I think you are over reacting.


Yes our role will change, there is no argueing that, but give me a break....if SOE just said "Ok everything that any craft has ever made will be removed from the game.....start over and get over it." How many people do you really think would continue to play? Not very many I can assure you of that.

i'm not saying sell everything you own, i'm talking about MAKING STUFF NOW SO YOU ARE READY FOR LATER.


docs will not be crafters anymore, period. i didn't say they were going to "delete all our med supplies". they will be CONVERTED to conform to the NEW STANDARDS. sooo.... if we make GOOD stuff now, while we CAN make it, later, when we' CAN'T make it, when its CONVERTED, we'll haveGOOD stufffor sale before we have to go grind BE.

What you fail to continue to realize is this.


How do you know we will not be able to craft!? Now Directly we can not with what is known about the CU. But who is to say that we will have to give up 121 point to Master BE....who is to say we will have to give up 78 points just to get 1 tier 4 (new crafting tree) in BE. Who is to say that we will even have to "grind" BE. We don't have any idea how the "Respec" system will work.


Why waste time and money on something we have no real knowledge about. Why craft when we have no real guideance on what will be changed into what? We don't know if Buff D's will be changed into 20% Buffs or 10% buffs. We have no idea is Stim B's will become the new "Uber stims" for doctors that that no one else can use.


Wait until we get more info. We have no clue what is really changing.

Unfortunately, no one knows what that stuff will be. I'm sure the medic schematics will pretty much stay the same, but to my knowledge no one has ever seen the proposed BE crafting for Doc goods in any forum here.

Hopefully it will be the Self only stims, like we saw with the Pet Meds that BEs got.

You do understand that Docs currently have to be master medics right? Err?
