oh ok, i get it, you're saying that we'll have to spend the points in BE and then we'll be able to craft med supplies

what i meant was

MASTER DOCTORS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CRAFT, you will need BE (to some degree)

going back to the original point. it may be in our best interest, while we have the chance, with our existing resources, templates, components, and characters, to make stuff that we know will be useful in the future after we lose the ability to use what we have as they are now.

you said yourself, that we won't be losing our med supplies, they're being changed to confrom to the new system. so.. a good stim will still be a good stim, relative. so, before we lose the ability to make said stim, we could take advantage of the situation, and do just that.

You do understand that Docs currently have to be master medics right? Err?

yesi am quite aware that you need master medic to be doctor, i look at the SP cost every day

as it is now:

master medic (for crafting) = low level med supplies and components with mediocre experimentation and skills

master doctor (for crafting) = top end med supples and components with full experimentation and skills

as it will be after CU:

master medic (for crafting) = low level med supplies and components with mediocre experimentation and skills

Master doctor (for crafting) = 0

so yes a doctor, in the future, will be able to craft, but only as a medic, so being a doctor has no benefit in that sense, so doctors are crafters by default.

Not to mention they can craft everything that is in Medic... So that's not correct. To assume class defining meds will be moved to BE is not a safe assumption at this point.

And no you won't need BE to craft... The post says it will be handled in Medic, as well as BE, I read that as primarily Medic and some in BE.

My glass is half full though.

i read that as taking the crafting tree out of doc and throwing into BE somewhere

HAHAHA....I didn't say I don't agree....I just won't be following suite. I don't do mass production just for this very reason. I do almost everything by hand, when I need it. Kinda like a burger....Make it to order is almost much more tasty then something that is old.

While it may happen, and I would be opposed to it, because of what Docs craft after everything else is thrown out.... Lets look. (there's more I'm sure just from memory)

Blind Pack, Intim Pack, Stun Pack, Dizy Pack, Cure Disease Pack, Cure Poison Pack, Rezz Pack, Fire Blanket, Stims, Health Wound Pack

That's it, the restare gone, why would any of these go to BE and not drop straight down to Medic?

As someone who does know more than just what's already been released, it's my opinion that there is very little that can be done to prepare, and least in crafting terms. To say that rez kits or stims or anything else will stay the same, or even still be around is an assumption. Once more details are released, it will be easier to decide how to prepare. Right now, there just isn't enough information.

I agree 100% there is not enough information to be suggesting to anyone a course of action.

"Medical crafting will be handled by the crafting line in Medic as well as Bio-Engineers. "

plain as day... are you suggesting there is something that currently a doctor makes that is not considered to be medical? because if so, doctors will still be able to make it. however, if it is medical, it will be made by medics and bioengineers, not medics and doctors, medics and bioengineers.

as far as the quoted post goes, i'm not telling people "DO THIS!" more like i'm saying "hey, look at it this way"

I can see how you can see it that way, it's still not clear enough to assume everything from Doc is going to BE.

not the medical use, just anything thats considered to be "medical crafting" as stated in the CU Update thread

Yes, medical crafting is moving to BE, and docs will not be crafting anything. That much is known. However, what is not known is what will happen to existing crafted meds when the conversion hits. It's possible that some existing meds will not have a post-CU equivalent, and crafting a supply of meds before the change hits could end up backfiring on you.

you are completely entitled to do so, but as it is i already have all sorts of components just sitting there. at least 4000 ABECs just chilling, waiting to be used, so before they're screwed, i need to make something with them, as i'm sure others are, so that's what i'm doing, and that seems like a good idea, and just suggesting it to others.
