Thread: Will Docs be buffing right up until the end ?

On Tempest, we've seen a huge drop in volume purchases since the announcement. Along with that, most of the crafting docs have stepped back from making literally any products. Everyone is basically waiting for the next move from SOE.
OTOH, I pulled out those really good 949/13465's and have been using them exclusively. 
I figure I might as well enjoy the best I ever made instead of seeing them on the shelf.

As long as I have buffpacks to buff people with, I'll definitely buff people. Also, as more crafting docs look toward liquidating their inventory, the people that run bufflines could make slightly better profit then before. Also, it's a way to make money without really investing more money/time and resources when you don't know what the future holds. I may not know what resources I need 3 months from now, but I am reasonably certain people will need buffs today, and they'll pay for it.

I searched the other day for some buffs to use, but came up dry. Looks like people are waiting for the CU to make anymore....

I am not crafting a thing until I know more info. Just have my personal stash now, and that is plenty to last until May.

There really is not point in changing you Habits right now. We don't know what is changing. Might as well have fun and make some money while we wait. The demand for our product won't drop as we get closer to May, so no need in adjusting your play style until then.

I have made so many buffs, thatI am now selling for less (2510 @ 10k) just to keep from losing my initial investment in them. Same goes for stims and such. I realize we are just on the doorstep here, but I am now bothered by all the resource inventoryI have. Do I sell them, or do I keep them and hope I will be able to use them?
Idodged a bullet on the trade forums, I offered up 25 million on a +13 Medicine Exp CA, he was gonna check with someone else thoughto see what they would offerthen boom that was posted /whew! I am glad he didn't get excited and trade at that very moment, lol!

Hmmm, I've been selling packs left and right. Why would the sales decrease after the announcement, we've got nearly 2 months before the CU hits live, maybe even more, players will still be wanting buffs up until the day that they are useless.

Well ive been a md since jan 04..both a crafter and a buffer and as of today have stopped makeing any more medicines....i have a huge stockpile of meds that should keep the venders open till mid april,after that ill close them down untill after the cu...i have no intention of giving up md but i dont see the point in investing more credits into resources with the cu on the horizon....guess im gonna have to grind out be crafting now
....with the buff packs i have made i will however continue to buff untill theyre gone,but i wont be produceing anymore...

I'm not quite sure what I'm gonna do. I have a nice stockpile of 947/3.5's that will easily carry me through to the CU, but I'm thinking two things:
Either I'll buff like crazy for the next few weeks, stockpile the money, and not buy any replacements, until I know for sure what I'll need,
or
Hang onto them, in the hopes that the devs will see fit to convert my good buffs to similar quality "enhancers", but I don't know if they'll even be worth anything.
I'm thinking I'll go half and half.........buff out half of my stockpile, and save the other half. That way, at least, I'll have money to spend on armor.

Sorry but: How dumb is that? I wouldn't dream of dropping my template/stop hunting because of the CURB. Do people really think the new stims will require, like, Polymer instead of Meat, or the new armor Class 7 radioactive instead of hide???

Nobody knows the requirements on the new meds. This kinda stuff has a habit of leaking, or maybe they'll lift the NDA before it goes live. I don't think they'll just go... ok its tuesday... WHAM all new system, surprise! I'd expect the schematics to be out / explained before then. Not that the devs haver said so... but that's what I'd do... dro pthe NDA a week or 2 before live and let people get ready.

Just curious what docs see happening during the last few weeks before the revamp ? Will docs stop buying hide / meat and crafting the buffpacks now ? I cant even imagine any doc out there wanting to buy Buffpacks within a week of launch.
Or perhaps you wont have any choice to craft them. Maybe the hunters will start hearing the changes (most peeps and docs i talk to in-game are clueless about this) and quit hunting now. I myself know many peeps who are master rangers who are dropping their templates now to prepare for the revamp.
I wonder if during the last week I'll see any "master doc buffing" spams.

You will probably see a huge drop in any crafting profession purchase resources.
I mean we don't know what is needed in the new system yet, so unless isn't something you need right this second, I doubt many people will be purchasing "Named Resources".
As for the buffs, Yes I suspect you will continue to see people sell them up until the bitter end. I mean why not? Even if SOE does a Retro-active (Past, Present, Future) push on everything in the game, buffs will still be in demand regardless. Any item that gives a players that added edge will always be welcome.
