Post your thoughts on all Doctor crafting having been moved to Bio-Engineer here.
Healing/Doctor/CM Changes
- Medical crafting will be handled by the crafting line in Medic as well as Bio-Engineers.
- Doctors will have enhanced abilities that are enhanced with the use of consumables called enhancers.
- Enhancers are on a 1000 point scale - the higher the number the better.
- The quality of Enhancer charges will vary per ability. We are aiming for an average of ~20%.
- We are adding craftable stimulant packs (stims) that can be used by anyone. Stims are one shot consumables that require no skill boxes to use.
- The use of the different stims will be determined by the player’s combat level. (i.e., novice players will be able to use the lower level stims while the elite players will be able to use the higher level stims)
- Players will use stims by double clicking them. Each use will consume one charge. Each use has an associated cool-down time.
- Stims can modify your health ~10%. You can’t use your stims to heal someone else

Not much to say here..sigh. Docs are gonna have to relearn our profession after the Cu to see how it will work out.

I really like the idea of taking away three elites from players anyway, it make characters too powerful, imho. I think adding our crafting into BE is a good idea, does this mean that the new line in BE will have Doc and BE exp points? Will we both use the same Exp points to craft items?
Can a Master Doc make just as good of BE items as a 0004 BE? And vice versa? Hmmm, need more information in that?

Looks to me like no crafting, we aren't needed for stims anymore, there is only going to be a health wound and one buff we can administer? What exactly are docs going to be doing?

ok im still trying to get my head round all this, but after reading through the whole thing i have some questions someone may beable to help me with.
1) are docs going to be crafting atall now? it mentions those enhancers we will be useing, tho not what they really do, but specifically says crafting will be handeled by medic...
2) are the stims mentions that anyone can use as the surent stims are, i.e. health heals under the nes system without any skill in medic?
im obviously waiting now for the rest of the details, im worried my master doc of well over a year may not be worth the skillpoints under this system tho :/

We will still be making the craftable self use stims. Not to mention by this report they have a reuse timer and only heal upto 10% of their bar at a time. Not too good if you are loosing your health after than that.

Doesn't this imply that we will need MANY more points to be a fully trained Doc?
All of medic
Novice Scout and the Creature line in Scout
Novice BE and the Crafting Line
All of Doc
Right?

No we won't. To quote the post:

Doctors will no longer craft at all.

Just depends on how you see it. I would have to get 0004 (or whatever it will be) in BE to really consider myself a Master Doc.

They have not stated what changes to Doc ablitites there will be. For all we know there will be some skill we will be given that we could charge people for. And instead of crafting a rez pack to use to rez someone, for instance, we might have the ability to just rez a player with the help of enhancers. Same goes for these new buffs. Sure medics might be able to make them but who will acutally be able to USE them......Doh....did I say too much....lol. Just kidding Im not a tester, nor have any real info. Its all just speculation. Relax there is more info to come

True for all we know Enhancers aren't crafted, and will constitute our 0004 column, baffling but possible...

After reading this over and over and over ... I think this could be a very good thing for people who play strictly crafting docs ... IF they do it right ... if we get to keep our resources ... and if I'm reading it right ... Master Medic, 0004 be to be what was before percieved as a doc crafter ... if this is the case ... we have enough sps for master merchant ... if that's all you want to do ....
In an odd sort of way, I can appreciate separating the crafting from doc and dedicating doc strictly to what its supposed to be ...
After all, when was the last time you went to a doc and he was the one that made the medicine you were taking?
