Thread: A fix to all AFK macroers!
What the devs just have to do, is limit player created macros to say...10 bytes!
Considering most macros require much more text than just 10 characters, this would make the macros non-useable. Granted I never used a tumbler macro, so I dont know how big it is, but at least with afk entertainers it would work.
You could still use player made macros like they were intened too, since you dont need more than 10-20 characters to use them. Also this would stop the goddamn spam at starports. The most you would be able to spam would be "Teaching all ma" That is with only 15 characters allowed, so 20 may be fine.
Any ideas how this would'nt work?
I know very little about macro-inc, but if even if a macro was limited to a certain size, people would "chain macro", i.e, have the last line of the macro initiate another macro, and so on. To make the macro size limit small enough so that it wouldn't work has a very good possibility of rendering all the useful macros useless. I like your intent though.
That stamina buff couldnt regen thier action faster than the macro was taking it away.
Limit macro characters.
I like the idea.
Another idea would be to not allow you to link them back to the tool bar at all, so you can't loop them. You would also have to limit size, but this should be an easy fix and I am very much in favor of it.
Good Job.
So far this sounds reasonable.
Limit made macros to 20 bytes(characters) and get rid of the toolbarslot ## command.
I don't have a complete list.. ther are some very accomplished macro experts around. Most of the common macros were made up by the same 4-5 people, and modified from profession to profession.
The Doctor buff-bot one is particularly clever.
(I don't like it, but it is very interesting to read.)
-T
actually you can loop macro's w/o them being in your toolbar.
Yes they have to be in your toolbar to activate, but there is a way to get around the /ui action toolbarSlot## that your macro is in. So it really wouldn't do much good.
I think they should do a few things.
-Limit the number of macros you can have.
-Limit the size of macro
-get rid of the never ending macros command.
Or hey...just auto boot AFK people after x amount of minutes regardless if a macro is running. Problem solved. Less lag, happier people....pissed grinders. Sounds like a great trade to me.
