Thread: Are You Enjoying Your role now? Why?/ Why Not?
Being Healer = Fun.
Being Ganked by 4 Jedi because I'm the Healer = Not fun
I'm enjoying it a lot, and the sudden increase in popularity ![]()
The agro is annoying, but I think that's the challenge of being a healer and is what makes so interesting. Dealing with agro forces me to work better with the group andto make them communicate, which I needn't to before. My group play is much more fun now!

The only thing I miss is hangin' out in Med centers.![]()
I heard a rumour that a future publish might give an advantage to med centers again. Something like you can heal ppl if they are combatant or something in a center. Does anyone have more details?
Before the CU my doc was useful pretty only in the defence of bases since she combined MD with musician being a very fragile toon to keep alife. Still her poison/disease cure areas were greatly appreciated. In pve she was little to use unless the group was facing a really bad mob, which as we remember were more and more seldom to find.
A great time I had as TKM-doc that in pve worked good indeed. In pvp it was fun but I had always to make the choice between being the doc or the fighter since the unarmed had to be in front line and not wandering around to find wounded or dead people.
In any of these instances the crafting part was fascinating and challenging.
After the CU the pve experience was pretty sad. I have almost give up to play doc anymore when somebody asked me to keep him alive during the village phase 4 quest. That was interesting mainly because I had the occasion to compare to my firend who was MCM. Both of us suffered greatly from the huge aggro we were constantly atracting but the MD had a clear advantage from not using area heals. Running constantly from a group member to the other gave me the opportunity to lose some of the aggro while the MCM using areas and Bacta Toss and thus being much more static was all the time either dead or on the verge of being killed.
Doc without the crafting part on one side and with the constant aggro in pve though made me play less and less that toon and concentrate more on the jedi healer I have made in the meanwhile. As pvp rate, complexity and fun increased and as most jedis are damage dealers and sabre looks to very few of them interesting for anythign than killing, my toon lives a very nice life, being a great healer (even after the publish 19 nerf), is very very hard to kill as Mdef, a perfect force reservoir for the smaller jedis a tank and a stats sources to ease the way of fighters. If you add to this a cyberarm for resurection, it makes the best field doc I've ever had.
Things are not perfect, since the arm has a cooldown effect incredibly high, mind has also to taken care off all the time, but still it's not a bad life all in all (at least sicne I have my BE to ease my crafting needs). Using good stims for yourself and jedi heals for the team leaves you with enough mind all the time to survive and make yourself useful.
In this position i collaborated with lots of MDs. Imho the jedi healer should be in front, he is tougher, doesn't die at every thouch even if 2-3 ranged people decide to "kill the doc", can also keep alive the MD if something similar happens to him. In the meanwhile the ranged people, sometimes more than the jedis from the front line, heavily need both healing and rez. That looks to me the most important job of the MD. For a jedi healer to run from the front line of jedis (and melees if they ever get real again /grin) to the ranged people behind means easily pure death, mainly now that cyberarms make them stay very far from the frontbattle. Having an MD behind the lines and a jedi healer in front looks to me a perfect tactics to keep at bay even a bigger force for a long time.
Pve role of MD tho is not defined imho.
I donot enjoy my role as much. I wanted to be a doctor not a combat medic. With publish 20 and the removal of wounds from space death there are hardly any wounds to heal. Even if I go out with a group there will either be so many people that no one gets damaged enough for me to do anything or there are so many people that can heal themselves that they do not need me.
As a neutral doctor even if I see someone one that needs healing I get an invalid target because they are not on leave. At least before I could tell before I tried to heal them if I could, if they are overt I could not heal them but if they were not overt I could heal them

It's more fun if your Rezzer: Player ratio is at least 50:1.
Major Tells.
