Thread: Missing the ability to color the name of my meds

I agree with you. I used to love having the ability to color code my components based on batch serial number. Now instead of being all purdy, my components look something like: ALS 122 - g34s45s

instead of codes I adda descriptive unique word at the end, for example:

ALS 181% Frodo

ABEC [14-24] Deathstar

ACRD 58% Hate_my_Droid

This makes it easy to match up the components with schematic, when i might have 2-3 kinds of ALS's in the factory hopper.

I am wondering if any one feels this way. I use to color code my parts so I knew witch batch the parts came from. This I found speeded up my crafting a lot and let me have more time for the things I wanted to do. Go out in the world and play.

Yep. I don't think color coding will come back, but we can still push for bigger crate sizes for subcomponents. Leave the final crates at 50, but component crates of 1000 would simplify a lot of things (as well as help with their precious database size issues).

Even when I make the subs in the same factory as the final product, the act of dragging 60 crates from the input hopper to the export hopper is annoying. Not to mention the hassle of moving 20 crates from one factory to another or packaging up 20 identical crates in a pack to sell on a vendor.

Color coding wouldn't be necessary as a serial tracking mechanism with this one change.

I personally use the date the schematic was made to tell if the components belong to the same batch. Of course you just have to make sure you don't create 2 schematics of the same componenet on the same day .

It goes something like: ABEC 22c 11p 122303

From what I gather, the removed the color ability from created items due to the bazaar. I don't play around much with the bazaar but supposedly there is a "premium" way to sell things on it and I belive it gives the item a color to make it stand out. Therefore, having people color their items themselves nullifies the bazaar feature.

Now here's the part that I can't for the life of me fathom.

If you had a survey asking people if they preferred to be able to once again color their items, OR if they think the bazaar "premium" listing is more important to them, i would bet a dollar to a donut that 95% of the players would pick coloring their own items and to stuff the bazaar feature up a dev's butt.

After all the cap on the bazaar is 3k. Just exactly how "PREMIUM" is the item going to be anyway?

When we could color our items (and it's not a bug, since we can STILL color our house names and havesters, they haven't fixed that), I could picture a SOE programmer laying down on the floor kicking his feet having a tantrum and screaming "BUT BUT I programmed it that colors would be used on the bazaar and now everyone is ruining it for me because they are coloring their OWN ITEMS wahhhhhhhhhhhh!"

SOE needs to wake up and realize that just because they have implemented what to THEM is a neato coolio game feature (colored premium items on bazaar, really who gives a rats butt?), if it's NOT USED and 95% of the players want the OLD system back, then they should **edit** well put it back.

It's like they can't see the forest for the trees in SOE.

Actually, all you get for premium is a " * " next to your item.

Colored items blew it out of the water.

Ok I wasn't sure what the "premium" did on the bazaar.

If all it does it put a * next to an item, then having people color their goods must not have had the programmer throw a tantrum.. He had a complete nervous breakdown lol

it was always a "bug" but it took time to fix it. (They found thatit seperated us from their utopian society they created)

Devs, please bring back color naming of items.

I used to use colors to find my med supplies in my inventory (e.g. Action Wound Pack B would have a green name because it's a green stat, and Health Wound Pack B would have a red name since it's a red stat). Now I have about 5 or 6 Cargo Pockets in my inventory to help me quickly sort and find items, which reduces my inventory space.

Here are two suggestions that would make the inventory more managable for players:

1) I should be able to rename (with colors) EVERY item in my inventory. The interface already exists for some items (such as backpacks), so it shouldn't be too hard to extend that feature to all items. Every player has their own logic for how items should be named. If we had the ability to rename every item, then everyone would be able to customize their items to their own logic. This is especially important for crafters who need to sort different batches of items or for fighters who need to be able to quickly find a stimpack in the middle of a fight.

2) Persistent item sort. I should be able to arrange my inventory items in any order that I want, and they should STILL BE IN THAT ORDER the next time I log in. That would go a long way in helping me manage my inventory.

If it's just a matter of keeping color names out of the bazaar and chat windows, then it should be no problem to just strip the color out of the name, but PLEASE let us use color names in our own inventory.

Thanks

If they just let us have 6 colors to use that would be good in my oppinion.
