Thread: Medical XP cap and the CURB changes...
Can we beg, plead, borrow, or steal for a higher cap on medical XP and get them to let us get xp outside of combat? Wound healing, player only perhaps(to keep the shortcut folks alittle in check)?
I don't know about any other doc, but after I'm done with my other account I was planning on playing more on my original, non-grind character (MD/MTK). I really wanted to take most of the senses FS branches. As it stands however, the cap to xp is heinously low, and I'd like to actually see doctors, be, well, "Doctors". Much like the begining of the game, I and many others sat and chatted in hospitals waiting on and tending to the wounded (or tavern's in the case of anchorhead). While making them at least more than a minor asset in a group now, which is appreciated, being forced into it to gain xp for the FS branches is exceedingly silly, especially with the cap so low.
The exchange really needs to be raised slightly, and the cap certainly by several times. I understand branches or even boxes in FS should not be a "day" job, but expecting hundreds of runs back and forth to the village every few hours when capped, in addition to legitimate healing in groups in PVE is insane.
The more constraint you put on players the more desperate they become to find a way around them.

As it stands, the xp required is for Doctor and Combat Medic skills is about10× what it used to be and medical xp is next to impossible to get playing solo. Right now I'm a CL 59MD/ CM 0300 on my alt account. Not easy to find a group and anything over CL 30 is way too hard and yields 1xp.
Maybe I can talk some guildies into comming back...
Ok forgive me but right now I am just well... confused and bewildered..... How do you get med xp now?
I am sure the answer is obvious and written all over but...right now... I am just ... ugh... so any help and tolerance for that question is much appreciated
The way i understand it, the best way to get med XP is to group and do nothing but heal. If you do not engage in combat and give everyone else in the group a heal or two, you will get max XP for that fight. If you shoot at the mob once, your XP will end up split between med and combat.
The way I understand it (not tested by me ) ,the new power grind consists of a 8 person group with 1 or two healers.this group has to fight proper leveled mobs, with all the fighters killing the same mob at once, and the doc(s) doing nothing but healing (doesn't seam to matter how much), the fighters get the best combat XP and the docs get the best med XP in the least amount of time.
Yep, this is the best way that I found to get med exp. Doing it this way and the med exp came at about the same or faster pace than combat exp. However, getting exp solo is very very slow. I hope to get the devs to fix this by allowing med exp to not be a fraction of the total exp of the mob but rather a different counter so that you could max med exp and combat exp off the same mob. That is my vision anyway but for now getting solo med exp is time consuming to say the least.

Medicine experimentation suits are working just fine. Of course, you need to be a xxx4 Bio-Engineer to get decent schematics and full 10 point experimentation, but the tapes still work...

Right now, I'm not seeing any medical XP, period, and I've gone out into combat and used CM skills in duels, and actually won one with a master pistoleer/master smuggler who has a lot more PvP experience than I do.
No XP at all from medical actions. Not from heals, not from tossing toxins, zilch, zip nada.

You only get med exp once the mob has been killed and if you healed yourself and/or a group member. It is awarded much like combat exp.
It is nothing like the old way where you got exp for each heal you did. Think of med exp like getting weapons exp.
