Thread: Doctors nerfed from their OWN buffs?
As I steadily climb the Doc tree and finally get to play with buffs I have noticed that when I buff myself, it is NEVER as good nor generally anywhere NEAR the points I can buff someone else with.
Got another Crafting and a couple more Knowledge boxs yesterday and will get to experiment with C lvl buff today. But previously my B lvl buffs I had to putalmostall my points intoease of use to keep it low enough so I could actually use themso they were neverall that great.
To show the extremes I was getting generally300-600 when I buff others (a highend of 820 and the lowest 190) but when buffing myself I could never get anything higher than 320ish on myself. This is questioned simply because I buffed myself more than others since no one wants the lousy buffs I make. ![]()
This is nota question on the range of point differentiation (which is HIGHLY rediculousIMHO).
But instead I am questioning WHY I can buff others close to threetimesas well as to myself? With a great self buff, it is only on the low end of the average range of buffing others.
I was out with my PA and our Master Doc was buffing everyone for around2500 pointsbut never getting those numbers for himself. Which is the reason for this post.
Are the any of you higher lvl and Master Docs getting these kinds of results?
This question needs answering! I'm adjusting my skills to be able to self buff rather than use pets, but this could change everything! I don't want to waste another minute in some lousy hospital with rude patients who NEVER tip. Lets hear what the pros have to say on this...

I notice the same sorta thing with my D's - but after last night, I am not sure if it's just a horrible coincidence that every time I buff myself it's low and everytime I buff others, it's high.
The buffs I have right now are consistently hitting other players for over 2000, and most often, around 2800.
On myself, I am getting 1300-1400 buffs, yet last night, I hit myself for over 2K in some of the substats and for over 3K on the health (action hit low, for about 1400). So, now, I'm just not sure.
It had happened often enough that I have made note of it, though, and I have wondered the same exact thing.
Never seen any difference in buffing myself and buffing others.
If you want to get something like this addressed I'm sory to say that you'll probably have to provide some hard evidence for it. Make sure all other conditions are the same and then buff someone else (or better yet, a pet) a bunch of times to see what kinds of numbers you are getting. Then do the same number of buffs on yourself (with no BF, using the same Med ratings, like in a Med center and with no droid) and compare the 2. I woul suggest that any less than around 20 buffs would not be enough of a sample to alleviate the buff variability and chance factors involved.
Best of luck!

This aspiring buffer would like to hear from the good doctor community on this. SURELY there are docs out there who have had experience inthis without having to go run a study.

I have noticed this off and on for quite some time now, simply placing the blame on the variability. But of a group of 8 people who had varying levels of wounds and BF, each of them had close to 2K buffs in all 6 stats with one person getting almost 3K on several buffs.
When I buffed myself(NO BF or Wounds) I ended up with barely over 1K buff in all 6 stats.
Luckily I have powerboost as a TKM so that helped to offset the difference, but the fact remains there was a difference.
And it's not the first time I've noticed it either.
But if it's a strict test you'd like, I'm sure that can be arranged.
Yeah, Texxie, you know how it goes. I can say we have a problem, but they are just going to turn around and ask for some indicators and proof to find the problem.
Include all your variables if you do get a chance to test this out, like BE clothes, using a droid, etc. I can't do much testing on that very easily at the moment, unfortunately. My playing time has been a bit limted lately, unfortunately.
So helping out in testing stuff has been kind of a low priority for me at the moment.
Anything folks come up with, though, I'll be more than happy to pass along.
Gotta say, though, I still haven't seen anything like this personally. It all looks good when I buff myself. Go figure.
I have noticed the same issue-problem, when buffing multiple people at same time, including myslef, I would say 60-80% of the time my buffs are lower than the buffs on others.
I have not run a controlled test on this, but might give it a go in the next week or so if I have time.
I am always buffed and group regularly. I have never noticed a difference in my own buffs and others. There is a lot of variability and it is easy to see trends you want to see and ignore contrary results in that sort of situation.
The only real test is a large sample, given the large variation it would take hundreds and hundreds of samples to get reliable results.
Figure 2 sets(12 total) of each level buff should suffice as a small, controlled test right?
