So, I'm just standing next to Lok shuttleport, minding my own business, foolishly leaving my Master Doctor tag up for plain viewing, when another player by the name of Ma'Kor comes up and simply says "Buffing?". I reply by telling him to please talk to me like a person, and not some machine, and he replies (Direct Quote)
"My opinion is of docs, You are meant to heal ppl for that purpose so you are machines"
Just a note then, fellow Farstar Docs, make a note of the name Ma'Kor, and try not to buff him. Really, he views us as nothing more than machines.
Makes me wonder how many people in SWG think of us as nothing more than automatons.

Plz grow up or stop playing, you really sound like a jerk to tell everyone that. The guy just asking you if you where buffing.

anubusx77, a good part of acting like an adult, is speaking to others like an adult. You start with a greeting, and then a question. Example: Hello, are you buffing right now? This is not difficult, and its much better than simply "Buffz?" which is rude, impatient, and lazy.

A good example of impatient was when I logged my alt in today. She had the Master Doctor tag up, and the same person sent four /tells before I finished logging in...

I always get tells for people asking for buffs right when I log on.
If I really feel like buffing I will, but I'm a crafting doc so it's not my line of work anymore to be a buffbot

the first part was fine. the second part came as a result of what you said to him, though im not saying it was nice but it rooted from what you said to the guy.
we should be careful not to forget this IS the internet. "buffing?" -we must note herethe ? mark and know that his intent was not to be rude but just shorthand type which is common on the internet. that is not to say you cannot deem his words as being rude, his first phrase, as you are entitled to that. many a times someone has used the sameexact way ofasking if i was buffingwhich i would simply answer, no sry or with a price. im sure they can think of better ways to be rude if they wantedto.

Utter BS this post is , this doctor is a human player no different to any prof , do i go up to a WS and say "making weapons ?" Seeing crafters as machines is rude and in my oppinion an insult.
I do not play the doctor role to just buff players who do not say please ,or just expects it , makes me angry.
I have had the usual insults i.e " buff me" usually after ignoring this i get a stream of spam with "buff me" no please no manners , disgusting .Where is the harm to be polite and ask ,are you buffing ?
If i havent a med bot out and am not spamming buffing macro , it usually means im not public buffing , i had an instance where someone demanded a buff i ask how much is he going to pay ? he asks stats then procedes to tell me he wont pay more than 12k as there rubbish !!! He wanted me to get my droid out , take bivioli just for him , miss my shuttle just to buff him for 12k coz thats what i play the game for....
Where do these morons come from who think im in this game just soley to pamper there whims ?
Just because i have my master doc tag up does not automatically mean im buffing ! go ask a master weponsmith to make you a weapon right there because he got his tag up ,

Not trying to be rude, mean or anything like that, but i personally belive that because of your response of "Please talk to me like a person, and not some machine" that he says this. The first buffing part was no big deal, but imo ur statement was a little out of line. The man was no trying to be rude. Im not saying that the person was right so say that, but i don't think that you were right to say that either. I do not view docs as machines, but some people do. its how the game is, there are rude people, it can't be avoided.
But that's just my 2 cents. No hard feelings

A large % of this game are non-adults yet. Many often times we make the sub-conscience assumption that the people we play with are of the same age or at least mannerism. We often are not on leveland it is wrong to think that or expect that. Buffs? Buffing? Can you buff? etc. are all to common phases that we should have gotten used to.
However, the "machines" comment was really pretty bad. Asking us not to provide services to someone that did YOU wrong is about the same level though. That and we have no proof this actually happened and we might be griefing someone who really didn't do anything.

haha i can certainly agree with you, i constantly get "Buffing?" type remarks when i am running around starports.if the question is in the form of a complete sentence i will usually stop and buff them... ie, "hey, are you buffing?" which makes no sense because if i was buffing i would be standing there, but, they did ask a coherent question. my favorite is "hey, can I get a buff?" that makes the most sense, and it sounds like they're a druggie, but its cool, if i have time i will always stop on this question.
haha, i actually have a quick key macro set up on my tool bar, that read's this
/r No, sorry.
that's it, u'd be surprised how much I use it for different things
