I think that the CU is quite the opposite.

In terms of the stims players were using, I'd find it hard to imagine that they will compare to the types of stims a Doctor or Combat medic could use, especially if they are used without any injury treatment-type skills from medic. Combat is going to be more group-based for upper level content, which will require a dedicated healer.

If you've been a Doc since the second week of the game, you might remember the early Krayt hunts, or Nightsisters, etc. back in the time before high power buffs and 80% composite was the norm. This revamp should bring the gameplay back to a similar setup to the old days, where Docs were running around healing and rez'ing and a core part of the group.

Umm, doctors and CM's will be more useful as healers now than ever before.

And as for the stims anyone can use, I am guessing they are going to be crappy like 100 a heal or something.

As a doctor since July 2003 I have never been so excited to be a doctor/CM.

I miss being NEEDED. For the past year+ my profession has been marginalized into AFK buff-bots and I don't want that. I want to be a HEALER.

I worry that doc will become even more of a bot. Think entertainer. If we can enhance, tend wounds, etc without meds then there is no reason there will not be a AFK doc bot in every cantina, right next to the entertainer.

If your going out to hunt why would you be both a doc and a CM and not just a CM?

All this will do will separate the Doctors from the Buffers. All the Doctors who picked up Doctor to "get rich quick" off of the buff craze, will drop it again. And what's left are the real Doctors. I'm excited. I have never advertised buffs. I have buffed people IF they've asked me to, at a low fee. I have never made a single buffpack. I have however healed more people than I can recall and GIVEN away hundreds of thousands of credits in medpacks and stims.

Doctor is about healing people, not being rich. Even in RL, if you go to the ER they treat you first, ask for money later.

As far as getting rid of bots.... REMOVE RECURSIVE MACROS. You remove the ability to loop a macro, you remove 100% of Entbots and Buffbots and AFK Grinders. Result: you have to actually play the game to level. People argue that people will quit. They don't quit any other game that does not allow recursive macros. Trust me, while they're AFK in SWG, they're actively grinding their butts off in another game that does not allow looping macros.

Funny you can claim to be a doctor and claim others aren't? I really doubt in RL money isn't a factor for most people going through medical school. I say that those doctors who sat in spaceports buffing the masses are just as much a doctor as those who craft medical supplies are doctors and are just as much a doctor as you are.

I have not charged for buffs for a good 8 months AT ALL. I usually buff whoever asks if I'm not in a hurry to get somewhere and have given everything needed for many people to master doctor, medic or combat medic. I always heal people who are diseased even when they aren't asking for it. I have advertised that I am buffing in spaceports, usually when I've had some bivoli and dont want it to go to waste, but does that make me less of a doctor?

Doctor is about a profession that many people play in their own way, not something one person decides for the community. And in RL ER kinda treats you first cause if not you might die? and like you said they certainly do ask for MONEY later!

(no I wasn't trying to brag, I simply think you can't decide what is and isnt a doctor based on your "generosity" and was pointing out the fact you aren't above everyone else)
