Hi,

I recently became an 11 point Doctor and I need a little help with components. I did all my buff components maxing out power and also, the ABEC and with the remaining points the charges.

I know the ABEC play a big role in the end result of buffs. Going full power will give you 900+ buffpacks bt about 19 uses. I wouldn't mind going down a little to 850 power but try to get a higher quantity.

Having 11 points of experimentation, how would you make the ABEC? I read that 19/19 is the best but i can't reach that.

thanks for your input.

It is a 1:1 trade off. For each power in the BEC and put it in charges you will loose one power in the buff pack and gain it in charges.

As a general rule most folks max charges first.

On a rare moment you may want to do other wise in order to hit some majic buff power number (like 900). For some odd reason people will pay more for a 900 power buff than a 899 buff even if they have to give up a charge. Don't ask me why.

Well, I've crafted alot of ABEC schem's as a 12 point, and my advice is:

As a 12 point, if you can get a combined total of 40 (charges+power) then you are in really good shape, and thats w/ good experimentation rolls. An example would be 17 power, and 23 charges, combine to get 40. As an 11 point, I'd say anything above 37 is pretty uber =]

I craft 15power-24charges and I get 35 charges in my last buff stock.

Allright, thanks everyone for the advice. I have noticed that power, as long as it's high enough, doesn't change the value of the buff by much. The input I got from customers is that they'd rather have equal duration on all 6 then to have then all different (like action super high power and 30 minutes more duration).

Right now, I did my ABEC as a 10 point and put everything in power. That gave me 905 power, 17 uses. Then i became 11 points, made buffs with the same ABEC but was able to put 1 more point in charges in the final product and that went up to 19/20 uses per. Which really adds up.

Next step will be to run ABEC as 11 points and max out charges first. My guess is that i'll endup with 860-870 power but maybe hit the magic 30 on the uses. I can probably sell more sets at 870 power x 30, then 905 power x 19.

Thank you everyone.

If you were hitting 905 power with a 25 power aBEC. If you then use an aBEC that has been experimented for charges (all other ingredients the same), your power should drop to 890ish. The drop in power of the pack is precisely the same as the drop in power of the aBEC. Since the high power aBEC has 25 power (in my example), you cannot lose more than 25 power by using a different aBEC (and that would be with a 0 power aBEC which is not possible).

The basic question you should ask yourself when experimenting your aBECs is this: Would I like my buff to have 5-10 more power, or 5-10 more charges?

Most doctors on these forums (with some exceptions) have decided that 5-10 more charges is worth the loss of 5-10 power. Since a maxed out master doc buffs for 2.75 times the power of the pack, a loss of 10 power in the buffpack will affect the enhancement the patient sees by 27.5 points.

That's exactly the info i needed. Personally, i don't mind going from 905 to 890 and make 26ish use buffs instead of 19. Right now, with +23 biv, i get +2449. If i get +2400 instead but get 6-8 more uses per buffpack, i'll be happy. I can still but at 14k each and make 70-90k per set, or sell my sets also higher because people will get 26 instead of 19.

Plus, right now with the abondance of avian meat, it's easy to make all 6 buffs perfectly identical power and duration and my customers seem to enjoy that. They don't have to sit around 30 minutes for the action buff to melt before getting a new one. And obviously, if I can make a better profit with the same amount of ressources, i'm set!

Thanks alot for the tips.

Personnally, as a 10.5pt doctor, I always max power.

Currently the best ABECs I can make are p24c11 or p21c13.

The p24 created a 2.3k buff (838) /19 charges and the p21 creates a 2.2k buff (~820)/20 charges.

Since I can sell the 2.3 for 1k more, it makes more sence to me to max power.

If I could get the 2.2k up to 24+ charges, then it might make more sence.

I spend more time on my ABECs than any other doc component. I'm in full agreement with those who max the charges. My approach is to determine the highest number of charges possible with my resources and the minum number of experimentation points it takes to get there.Once I know how many points I will have left for power, I keep trying until I get an amazing success in power. This is where bespin port helps. Once I get the amazing success, I run the experiment(s) on charges and make the schematic. It ends up getting me 2 more power or so.

I've been a doc now for a few weeks (12 pt doc) and have been playing around quite a bit with the ABECs. How are ya'll coming up with more than 21 charge ABECs? 21 seems to be my max regardless of the number of amazing successes I get. I'm assuming it's my resources, but they aren't really that bad so I'm stuck at 16/21 (power/charges) for now. I'll post the stats on the resources when I can get to them.

It's your resources. IT doesn't matter how many amazing successes you get, the max is determined by the stats of your resources. Amazing successes just let you get to the max with fewer points. For what it's worth, 21 charges isn't bad at all.
